忘却からの帰還〜Atomic Age

Oak Ridge Associated Universities -- Health Physics - Historical Instrumentation Collectionには、ブランド名がラジウムやX線である商品が収蔵品されている。

Atomic Ageには実際にわずかながらラジウムやウランを含んでいるとみられるコスメや健康器具や食品が販売されてきたが、これらは名前だけの商品

まずはラジウムビールとラジウム煙草とラジウムマッチとラジウムコンドーム。20世紀前半の夜の楽しみ用品だそうである。

いずれもラジウムは含まれていない。ラジウムがプラチナやゴールドよりも価値ありそうに聞こえていた時代のネーミングのようである。

高級感という意味で、ラジウムバターというのも存在していた：

もちろん、X線を含んでいるわけもなく、X線を照射したわけでもないが、名前だけX線な製品もあった。こっちは高級感というより、強力さをイメージしているようでもある。
