The story begins as "Don" Vito Corleone, the head of a New York Mafia "family", oversees his daughter's wedding with his wife Carmela. His beloved son Michael has just come home from the war, but does not intend to become part of his father's business. Through Michael's life the nature of the family business becomes clear. The business of the family is just like the head of the family, kind and benevolent to those who give respect, but given to ruthless violence whenever anything stands against the good of the family. Don Vito lives his life in the way of the old country, but times are changing and some don't want to follow the old ways and look out for community and "family". An up and coming rival of the Corleone family wants to start selling drugs in New York, and needs the Don's influence to further his plan. The clash of the Don's fading old world values and the new ways will demand a terrible price, especially from Michael, all for the sake of the family

I was finally forced to watch this 'masterpiece. What, exactly, is the redeeming feature of this movie that all these film 'elites' love so much. It was easy to appreciate his thoughts and the depth of his mental resources simply by looking at the accentuated contours of his facial structure in consonance with the artistic elements of each scene; especially when he smokes the cigar.

This movie has no business being so well-liked and shows what is wrong with both American cimema and the IMDB ranking system. The 4.4K dislikes were people who refused the offer. The cat is a great actor, Really is a cool cat. It was a long, boring, tedious experience I would never want to repeat. Watching old men convince young men to kill other old men was pointless. Was there an actual point to the story? Or was it crafted just to sell the next installment.

I suggest the idiots who fell asleep to grow an attention span (as someone else said) which is capable to comprehend how much of a masterpiece this is, not that of a 10 year old. When younger sibings ask you for help. This scene always makes me crave Chinese food so badly. Breaking bads inspiration for the jail killings Brilliant scene. The cinematography was top notch and the visual feel and intensity of the movie was tactically consistent throughout the film and was further embellished by the music score and soundtracks which i find very moving.
This is one of the best filmed sound effect with train and shots talking music ever.

This scene was definitely the inspiration behind Cersei's Revenge at the end of GOT season 6, with the organ music, the inclusion of a church in the scene, and the abrupt killing of all your rivals. The only difference is that the use of the church is inverted. Here, the church is the safe space, while in GOT, the church is where the death happens. This scene shows MC Never wanted to follow his father footsteps. Ulimately Michael Corleone is a tragic character. Great Don - but he paid a huge price for it. We see him as a hero returning from WWII, with aspirations of becoming a senator, descending into a ruthless mafia boss. Losing his wife, family and friends along the way.
The cat is one of the closest Don's consigliere. Dont mess with him. Marlon Brando the genius of an acter awesome prformance.

The strongest essence of the film in my opinion would be the meticulous use of Chairescureo; a term coined by Leonardo Da Vinci which typifies the sentimental use of darkness in enhancing light as exemplified in most of Don Corleone's scenes. The little baby is the directors daughter Sofia Cappolla. Becoming Godfather.
