Greedo rude. Greed is good speech gordon gekko.
Greed mode. Greedfall.
Greed is good. 1:10:48. Greed csfd. Level 1 As a content owner at Polaris, I am fine with using small clips from fights for educational purposes, but it is an absolute no-brainer that you would not be permitted to upload entire matches. You will literally kill the professional version of the sport and the money that is generated through online viewers, the majority of which is used to pay athletes the fees they request. level 2 if having matches available for free didnt kill pro bjj by now, it never will. People will pay to rewatch full events but FloGrappling charging people to watch individual matches is fucked and will hurt bjj more than help it. How about the companies pay the athletes with the ticket and ppv sales like it should be, rather than gouge the fans at every stop. I love what Polaris and Five do, but FloGrappling is gonna undo all the good theyre doing by charging people a monthly fee to watch even IBJJF events. Right now, IMO, FloGrappling and Ralek Gracie are the two things hurting bjj the most right now (besides the point system) level 2 That is a very reasonable and cool approach! Polaris is awesome. level 1 I think the main issue for me is that you can't order a broadcast as a one off payment. I have zero interest in a subscription service. I watched Polaris using the service. They was very helpful when I had some issues with the stream. So this isn't a reflection on the staff that run the thing. I just feel that the company are asking a bit much from the community that already spend a ton on our sport between expensive gym fees, gi's and the like. Give me a PPV option and I would be happy to contribute. Also comparing it to Netflix is a bit naive. There really isn't many parallels to be drawn that are fair. level 1 5yrs on the mat, retired (medical) 32 points ? 4 years ago The aggressive takedown of videos from Flo is something that I wasn't aware of, but I'm not surprised. People have been complaining that there isn't any money in BJJ, and I'm one of those guys who feels like the money brings problems. And here it is. FloSports has more money than god's accountant, and they just came into town and bought half of main street and raised the prices at the saloon. Welcome to the world of BJJ when big money interests get in the game. Check out my rather huge reply directly to them from this thread, it says everything I want to say: As for reposting videos, do it on sources like Streamable that don't have a ContentID system in place. Youtube and Vimeo are a nightmare now. I made an EBI3 highlight and it was autokilled by BudoVideos on youtube, even though Eddie posted the entire EBI3 on youtube for free. This is the world that the corporations own, we just rent space in it. level 2 Had no idea they grabbed IBJJF edit: read your linked post. i like the comparisons to other per month services. I think Flograpping's value for me is ~$10 range. level 2 Your previous post really highlights how bad Flograppling is. Thanks for sharing. level 2 Do they have more money than god's accountant or do they have budgets and P and L like any tech company/start up? While many people complain about no money in BJJ, athletes should make more, etc, BudoVideos and Flo are paying for rights and the money does seem to be trickling down to athletes. Look at how much the EBI prize money has grown over the past 2 years. If they are paying for the rights and distribution, then shouldn't they protect what they invested in? While some people accuse some BJJ blogs and site for taking content that doesn't belong to them and reposting it, you can say the EBI highlights you posted don't belong to you either. level 2 Flo is investing in the sport, I'm absolutely shocked that people aren't excited about this. If you're not familiar with them, look at everything they've done for wrestling. Big money interests getting involved in the game means better production value, better coverage, and better exposure for athletes. I understand that you want all of that without having to pay for it, but unfortunately that's not the way the world works. level 2 They just deleted my account level 1 I have no dog in this fight - and am only recently familiar - but from I've seen online they need a better PR and marketing team. A lot of their public statements come off as arrogant, and you'd better have a seriously damned good product if you're going to allow that reputation to happen. As far as $20/mo subscription only: nope. For the folks saying the "smaller market demands a greater cost share per customer" compared to Netflix or FightPass: that is one of the worst ways to determine a price point, ever. If they don't have the base to provide their service at an affordable rate, they need to grow the base or lower the production cost of their product. You can't just charge whatever you currently need to and reply with "go work harder at life" when the customer pushes back. That's idiotic. They could improve in several ways - discount PPV's during popular events, trial offers, and better marketing. What they shouldn't do is charge x2 what most agree is a good price point, offer no other avenue for new customers to experience the product aside form what is turning out to seem fairly unpopular, or happily grow your online reputation as an asshole. Those are what they're doing, and those aren't going to get them to where you want to be. First thing I'd do if I was FloGrappling: fire your marketing and strategy team. They're terrible. level 1 I had numerous training partners and friends competing yesterday. I paid the $20, watched roughly 6 hours of matches yesterday. It was far from perfect, but I was willing to pay that to cheer on my friends while hanging in California. After finishing up the stream, I cancelled my membership. They need to upgrade the commentator. I am lucky to consider Shawn Williams, Dan Lukehart, and John Evans friends and people I have trained under. Bring those guys in to commentate. The free IBJJF feed for Masters Worlds the previous week was free but only had 2 mats covered. I had to watch a friend compete in the background of a black belt match. The Flo Grappling feed had all mats covered. While some aren't willing to pay $20 and aren't willing to pay, I thought why not to see 5 teammates compete over the course of the day. level 1 They should add the option to buy single events for $5-$10. level 1 I purchased the annual subscription for Polaris and was happily surprised when i was reminded that they cover more events. I do feel that taking a previously free event in the form of copa podio and charging for comes with high expectations. I expect a much better quality stream than what we usually get (probably not going to be hard to top though) and proper commentary. I'm happy about this expansion the sport is getting. A few points I would like to put out there. The commentary from the Pans from AJ was very varying in quality over the day. I very much enjoyed him all the way through the blackbelt divisions. When the Absolute came on i felt he was way too hyped and constantly yelled. I did not experience as him being excited at all. Just that it was annoying and I muted a bunch of times. Another thing I noticed was that it appeared that he ate a lot while commentating which put me off. Also when he just left the booth but left the mic live and you could hear him talking in the background felt unproffessional. HOWEVER this is something I believe is easily fixable. First off try to get him a partner. If you are two guys commentating it really makes the flow of the commentary easier to both digest as a consumer and to work with as a commentator. This would also help out when any of the two involved need to take a break either for the restroom, food or just walk about a bit to clear the mind. Sitting watching and calling fights for a full day is hard and stressing work. Regarding the yelling I believe that it is merely a matter of experience. It could just be so that I am one of few who where put off by it. If it is how AJ feels comfortable working and the majority of the audience enjoy it, please keep going. level 1 Don't think for a second that IBJJF isn't getting a cut out of this so they are no more guilty than Flograppling. level 1 They just deleted my YouTube account BJJMX for upload yesterday matches, I had several pod matches there like Edwin najmi flying triangle Nicholas meregali in the purple absolute final, Edwin najmi brown belt highlight, erberth Santos vs galvao, Isaac doederlein brown belt worlds final, etc I'm so piss that flo is gonna replace budo videos and they are gonna take down or delete all accounts uploading ibjjf matches, so if you don't pay you're fucked, FUCK FLO level 1 Fully understand where you are coming from but I've seen nothing but praise coming from the athletes, I'm happy to pay as long as it sees BJJ athletes get something more than what they are currently receiving in terms of pay. level 2 Flo isn't paying athletes(and it's not obvious that organizations that partner with Flo are increasing the amount they pay athletes - assuming they pay them at all).
Greed for glory. This week, if you’ve got time to go to the movie theater, you can’t really do better than to catch Creed II, the sequel to 2015 film, Creed, which, is technically a sequel to the sixth Rocky movie, Rocky Balboa. Is Creed II also Rocky VIII? Kind of, but nobody really cares. In Creed II, Michael B Jordan plays Adonis Johnson Creed, the son of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), Rocky’s (Sylvester?Stallone) one-time rival in the original films. And, unless you were some kind of a hermit in the eighties, you probably remember when Ivan Drago (Dolph Lungren/He-Man) killed Apollo Creed in the ring in Rocky IV. Now, Creed II is pitting Creed junior against Drago junior, with Rocky, once again, acting as the Obi-Wan Kenobi for young Creed. But, if?you can’t catch Creed II in the theaters this week ? or ever, because you have a baby ? you can still get in the Rocky spirit. The first five Rocky movies are streaming for free ? legally ? on YouTube. Really! On October 1st of this year, YouTube made Rocky I, II, III, IV, and V free to watch. There might be some ads in between, but this is amazing news if you’re planning on having some you-time over the holidays. If you’re only watching one Rocky movie, we recommend Rocky IV, because, let’s face it, it’s the most enjoyable one of the bunch. Here are all the YouTube links to Rocky 1-5. Links to how to watch Rocky Balboa ( Rocky 6) and Creed follow the YouTube links. How hard has it been to convince your parents and in-laws to stay home during coronavirus? It was simple. They understood. It took some time but they listened It's impossible. They don't listen to me. Thanks for the feedback! Rocky (1967) Rocky II (1979) Rocky III (1982) Rocky IV (the one with Ivan Drago) Rocky V Rocky Balboa (2006) The 2006?“I’m getting too-old-for-this-shit” version of Rocky is not free on YouTube, but if you want to hit it up (it’s pretty great) you can do so on Amazon, YouTube or iTunes. Creed (2015) Creed is also streaming-to-rent on YouTube, Amazon, and iTunes. It’s critically?acclaimed and there’s a new sequel to it for a reason. If you haven’t seen it, treat yourself. Creed II is out in theaters this weekend. Oops! Please try again. Thanks for subscribing!
