先ほど話題に上りました、 'plan to ' and 'plan on ' の違いについて
ネイティブの先生（イギリス系オーストラリア人）に聞いてみました。
のでお知らせします。

I was planning on going to Europe.
I was planning to go to Europe.
これらは同じ意味ですか？　と聞いたところ

In this case.....yes

それらは違うケースの場合もありますか？

I plan on living till I am one hundred years old.
It is not a definite thing, I am assuming I will live that long
I am planning to visit Europe next year......it is more definite and I am taking action on it now.....for example, I am saving the money or booking the tickets, getting everything ready for the visit.
In most conversations though, they would be used with the same sort of meaning when people are talking. You would know if the plan is definite by what else the person says.

ということで、
会話ではほぼ同じように使われるが、
明確でない予定の場合、plan on 〜ingを使うそうです。
