Lazy Newb Packは、LucasUP氏が作った初心者向けパッケージである。
“怠惰な初心者パック”という名前が示す通り、初期設定が面倒な初心者のために関連ツールをまとめたパッケージになっている。
さらにツールを追加したLazy Newb Pack Advancedもある。

1. DFFDからダウンロードする。
2. 展開し、Lazy Newb Pack.exeを起動する。
3. 好みの設定に変更し、「Play Dwarf」をクリックする。

ゲーム内容の設定を変更する。

使用するグラフィカルパッケージを変更する。
リストから選択し、Install Graphicsで決定する。既にプレイしているセーブデータがある場合、Update Savegamesもクリックする必要がある。

付属ツールを起動できる。

起動時の設定や、ゲーム速度、セーブなどの設定を変更できる。

Lazy Newb Packは長期間アップデートされていない、Windowsでしか動かないなどの欠点があるため、いくつか派生物が作られている。

PeridexisErrant氏による拡張版。
