Blood on Her name generator. Could be a case of double backfired malicious compliance? You be the judge. During university I lived in a shared house with 4-8 other students. It was a fun, chill group, we often partied together, cooked together, shared bills and chores easily, etc. I was loving it, having lived with a number of horrible roommates in in the past. I had been in this house about 6 months and planned to finish out my studies there, which would have been another year and a half. One roommate, Janice, actually held the lease and was kind of the "house boss". That is, she organized cleaning, groceries, bills, and whatnot, including mediating roommate drama extremely well, and as she was extremely kind and fair about it all we were happy to have her in that role. For example once there was a growing tension about the growing number of fruit flies and kitchen moths (? ) flying around. Tempers were getting high about who was letting this pestilence grow, but Janice stepped in and solved the problem. In front of everybody, she emptied every single cupboard and drawer and opened every package of food until she found the rotting mango generating the flies, and the larva-infested cereal spawning those awful moths. Instead of being angry at the culprit, she kind of harangued us into forgiving him (for the small price of him buying the house a bag of shrooms, stipulated at half an ounce per roommate). If Janice had one weakness, it was that she was extremely wealth conscious. She came from a poor background and longed for the trappings of money. This was mostly harmless, like sporting a fake watch and a fake accent in front of certain people, but less harmless was her sucking up to richer people. One day she started dreaming out loud about how cool it would be to get Kevin living in the house - his dad had a sick cottage we could maybe use, he was always buying booze, etc. I saw her sometimes looking thoughtfully at the other roommates when she talked like this, like she was dreaming about who to cut. The problem for her was that we were such a cohesive group that there was nobody who wasn't pulling their weight as roommates. But I was in a weak position. At this time my huge concern was that Janice knew I had a big field season coming up. I was studying desert ecology at the time, which meant leaving the province for a full 4 months in the summer. I made it totally clear to her that I was keeping my room. My rent was automatically sent to her every month. There was no way I live anywhere else, as I'd be out of town and in that city you need to apply in person. I said several times, clearly, "keep my room free". Then it hit. I was literally putting on my shoes to leave for the summer when she awkwardly approached, saying, and I'll never forget her exact words, "hey Mike [my name], is your room all set for Kevin? It didn't sound like you were coming back so I told him he could have the room. " She was shame faced. I was floored. My mouth slowly opened, I turned the door handle, and I left. The next day I called her from the bus. I knew that the deal was sealed. But, knowing her, I knew that with a bit of flattery for her organizational abilities I could get her to help me out. I also knew that she was ashamed of herself - I saw it on her face - and had no desire to antagonize her. She answered with a quaver in her voice, asking how the bus ride was going, making some nervous chit-chat. I came right to the point and said something like "holy shit, you'll never believe it, I totally forgot to line up a new place for the fall, now I have no idea how I'm going to work it out. " She was audibly relieved. She had been forgiven. She said "Oh that sucks! I can help though, I have lots of time, just send me some ads and I'll check them out for you! I can vouch for you at the same time and put in your applications! " Now for the malicious compliance. I took her at her word - and then some. Every night, I'd skim the apartment ads and copy any that were in my budget and in the neighborhood I wanted. Then I'd send Janice the links with a cheerful note: "thanks so much for checking these out! I hope we can find a place quickly! Hate to arrive back to and be homeless! " The implied threat here was that if she didn't find me a place I'd tell everybody what she'd done, making her look like a fucking prick. She fully picked up the threat. I heard from other friends that she was basically working a part time job just to find me a room. Every day she'd head out with a list of places and talk me up to the landlords like she was campaigning to win me a senate seat. She exhausted her whole social network, she praised me to everybody she met, but after a few weeks of this, and I think about 40 apartment viewings, nothing materialized. I fully intended to milk her offer for the whole summer, but I was starting to get the feeling that she thought her obligations were pretty much met. She had spent weeks publicly declaring how much she liked me and how cool I was, and showing everybody how hard she was working for my sake. I kept getting messages from other people like "wow, janice is desperate to pimp you out". I figured I had nothing left to hold over her and that the jig was nearly up. I broadened my search a bit outside of the student ghetto and into the adjoining slum. Suddenly, success! For Janice, at least. I sent her to a house advertised as being for young professionals. There were two roommates: the owner (a social worker) and his friend, a wood carver. Despite the pretentious ad, the rent was incredibly cheap, and the neighborhood was an easy bike ride to campus. To be honest it looked like a lot less fun than my past place, but, well, I needed to wrap this up quick before I lost my agent. Janice wrote me: "Looks fine. Your room is furnished. The guys are really into heavy metal I think? They have a skull doorknocker and a lot of weird flags in the basement. They're a bit old maybe (35? ) but seem nice. They said you can come! " So I texted the guy and worked it out. We set a date (perfect for my schedule) and a rent (incredibly cheap). The ease of this transaction should have rung my warning bells... Little did I know, this transaction was Janice's own malicious compliance. I had asked her to look at this place and apply for me. She did indeed do that. In complying with my stated wishes she plunged me into a nightmare. The summer passed. I got back to the city at about 11:00 one night and showed up to my new home. There was in fact a skull doorknocker, one of those very corny sculptures that often feature dragons, skulls, mushrooms, and other badass imagery. I looked forward to meeting the social-worker / metal head / dragon sculpture collector, who I imagined would be a lot more interesting than the awkward cactus professor I had been tenting with for the last months. I knocked. No answer. I rang. I smoked a cigarette and knocked and rang again. Nothing. I tried the door - it was open and the lights were on. I stepped in, loudly scuffing my feet, and kicking over a pile of beer cans. Two guys were sprawled out drunk on the floor lying in their own vomit. There were dozens of empties scattered everywhere. I nudge one guy and he lurches onto his back, hacks up a lung, and yells at the top of his voice "MIKE!! MIIIIIKE! Where were you man?! We were ready to party! You didn't drink your share and we got all fucked up! FUCK!! We passed out! " This was Cal, the landlord. The house reeked. He showed me the room. It was furnished: it had a dresser and a broken night table, but no bed. Luckily I had a sleeping pad. He showed me the filthy bathroom. The toilet was fully black inside, a state I hadn't seen before and haven't seen since. Cal was fully drunk during this tour, slurring constantly and trailing off into nothing, lurching back and forth in the hall. The place obviously sucked but I was game. I had lived in some shit holes already, and the rent was so low. But the guy! He honestly looked like a late stage cancer patient. His eyes and skin were yellow and he reeked. While we were talking lease terms he passed out on my floor and I had to drag him out by his feet. This was incredibly awkward. I had been awake and on the road for over 24 hours by this point. I was exhausted. I knew I was moving into a dump - what else could it be for $250 a month - but I did not know that I would be dragging my vomit smeared landlord into the living room, blazing a trail through crushed empties and cigarette butts. I cursed that fucking Janice - had she known!? I laid him on his side so he wouldn't puke and die. Then I figured I'd better move the other guy too, who was flat on his back and also covered in puke. As soon as I touched him he screamed - howled in terror - and leapt away from me and across the room, crashing into the wall. I'm like "uh, hey... " and he screams again, eyes flashing, cowering against the wall in abject fear... and then kind of comes back to himself. He stands up, wavering a bit. "Oh, hey man. You're Mike? Justin. Too bad we didn't get to party! Sorry for the yelling, I have bad anxiety and I think you woke me out of a nightmare. Cal set you up in your room? Cool. Cool. Well, anyway, think I'll pass out, really nice meeting you man, let's get a beer tomorrow, eh? Goodnight. " He lay back down in the vomit, on his side, and instantly started snoring. Cal was snoring too. I went to bed. Scenes from the house: Cal asks me to party tonight. I agree. We go in the basement, which is 5 feet high, and which is the designated party room. It's completely decorated with skull and wizard statues, and nylon flags of various metal bands. They start to drink beer and play metal. They get fucked up, then extremely fucked up, and all this time the music is too loud to talk. Justin takes out a machete and starts hacking the ceiling, Cal rolling around the tiny burrow, tears streaming down his cheeks from laughing, and I think I'd bett

Blood on her name 2019 movie. I've argued in the past that Eldar as a whole are a lot less xenophobic and murderous than the Imperium, even if having way more reasons to be so than the human empire. It has happened in another thread that the question about Eldar feelings about killing other sentient beings has resurfaced in another topic. As promised to u/Sehtriom here I present some excerpt that I find may shed some light on the subject. Please feel free to add something I missed and enjoy the reading. TL, DR: non-Dark Eldar make quite a big deal of human killing and even suffering. Path of the Eldar, volume 2: Path of the Seer Thirianna is a Dire Avenger in a force tasked with killing everyone inside a complex, in a pretty standard Eldar engagement. Thirianna took it all in at a glance, her focus drawn towards another door on the opposite side of the room. The squad moved quickly, securing the door and a window that led to the balcony. Thirianna was first into the next room. It was some kind of eating area. A long table flanked by high-backed seats stretched the length of the room, set with plates and candlesticks as if ready for a meal. Thirianna heard a whimpering noise and leapt onto the table. She ran along its length, picking her way between the dishes and candlesticks without effort. At the far end of the room was another seating area, with overstuffed chairs and a round table. In the corner cowered a female human. With her were three children: one male, two female. Their faces were red and wet, their eyes glistening. The taint of Chaos permeates this place, said Kelamith. All must be purged. The humans made whimpering, animal noises as Thirianna brought up her shuriken catapult. The ambient light in Thirianna’s bedchamber was dimmed. She lay on the soft floor and looked at the shadows on the ceiling, watching the slowly-changing patches of dim light and dark shifting. Her slight body, narrow waisted and slender shouldered, was immobile. Her thin face was half hidden by the long sweep of white hair that lay across it, obscuring the tattoo of Alaitoc’s rune on her right cheek. Thirianna’s deep blue eyes roved from side to side as her gaze hunted the darker shadows, which constantly slipped to the edges of vision, refusing to give up their secrets. She smelled something strange: blood. A moment later she felt a pain in her hands. Lifting them up, she saw that she had dug her nails into her palms. She watched a droplet of her life fluid slide down to her wrist and drip onto her bare stomach. Something was wrong. A presence squirmed in the recess of her mind. The smell and the sight of the blood stirred it. The touch of Khaine, the anger of the Bloody-Handed God awakened. Thirianna closed her eyes, seeking peace in the darkness. Her vision was filled with the blood red of her war-mask. With a gasp she opened her eyes again. She whispered the mantras she had been taught, seeking to put aside that part of her that was Thirianna the Dire Avenger. Her brow itched, feeling upon it the rune of her shrine that had been painted there in blood. She lifted her finger to her forehead but felt nothing. There was no blood there. She had removed the rune and chanted the verses and still a remnant, a dagger shard, remained in her mind. Trying to relax, Thirianna took a deep breath and laid her hands on her chest. She felt the beat of her heart through her fingertips, swift and strong. The nagging sliver of Khaine would not go. She wondered if perhaps she should go to the shrine, to seek the guidance of Nimreith. She dismissed the idea. Thirianna felt that if something was amiss, she would be able to deal with it. Closing her eyes again, she probed at the wound in her psyche, feeling around the raw edges, hesitant to look deeper. Veiled with mental curtains, the memories within were part of her war-mask, detached from the rest of her thoughts. She felt them throbbing behind the locked synapses of her brain, insistent for attention. What could be so important that it demanded to be seen? Slowly, Thirianna folded back the curtains of her thought for a glimpse, the tiniest flicker of acceptance. She screamed, mind awash with a vision of crying children and the dying shrieks of their mother. During a vision quest, while training as a Warlock, she goes 'astral traveling' through the Webway and stumbles upon a Drukhari raiders staging point The webway encompassed the world of the tower but did not penetrate it. The threads of the infinity circuit surrounded the bubble but made no inroads towards the tower itself. Thirianna could see small figures of eldar walking along gantries and the docks, but she had no means of approaching closer. When she realised what the eldar on the dockside were doing, she decided that it was for the best that she could not come any closer. The eldar, garbed in highly stylised, barbaric clothing, bearing whips and scourges, were leading a seething mass of aliens from their ship to a yawning gate in the side of the tower. As the portal opened, the sound of shrieks and moans filled the air. Thirianna felt wave after wave of torment roiling around the reality bubble; agony unending poured like a flood from the gate of the tower. Turning her attention to the newest arrivals, Thirianna recognised humans, several dozen of them, amongst the miserable throng. The other creatures, some hairy, some scaled, some squat and misshapen, others upright with two arms and legs like eldar, were not known to her. They were all bound in energy cuffs, glowing bands of red around their ankles and necks. She could not see any more detail, and for that she was grateful. Later on, when arming and preparing in her former Temple and donning the Warmask as a Warlock, she again experiences her traumatic experience, dealing with the painful awareness of being a killer: Thirianna waited in the dark antechamber in the Shrine of One Hundred Bloody Tears, sensing the exarch in the room behind her calling the Dire Avengers to battle. She knew that she would have to reach into her memory and bring out the experience she had shut away. It was concealed firmly behind her war-mask, and Kelamith had hinted that the coming battle might bring it forth without Thirianna’s volition. Better now, she had decided, to confront this potential nightmare in the sanctuary of the shrine, than risk it taking her unawares at a critical moment. She began the mantra that brought forth her war-mask. She paused as it was settling into place, keeping a hold of her normal self to avoid being consumed with bloodlust. The witchblade in her hands thrummed with life, woken by her dark thoughts. Placing the blade to one side, disassociating herself from its war-hunger, Thirianna sat cross-legged in the middle of the chamber and closed her eyes. She pushed through the red film of the war-mask and opened herself to the memories that lay beyond. Dozens of recollections flooded through her, each a vista of death, a vignette of bloodshed. She shuddered, caught between the horror of the atrocities she committed and the ecstatic feeling that had flowed through her when she had perpetrated them. Yet there was nothing there that caused her greater concern than before. She had seen these things when she had prepared for the battle with the orks. There was another memory, so vile to her she had cast it down into the abyss of her thoughts, where even her warrior-self would not have to contemplate it. She baulked for a moment, afraid to venture further. Her skin felt slick with the blood of those she had slain, her ears rang with their wounded cries and death rattles, her heart pounded with the sensation of their fleeing life. Thirianna withdrew a little way, allowing the warrior-memories to recede, leaving her in peace again. She slowed her heart and breathing, instilling calm. If she were to unleash this dark memory she would have to do it swiftly, diving past the other recollections into its lair. Hardening her heart as much as she could, filled with trepidation, Thirianna thrust herself into the past, sweeping past the battles into the dark maelstrom of her innermost secret thoughts. She ran along its length, picking her way between the dishes and candlesticks without thought. With her were three children, one male, two female. The eldest female, the mother, shrieked something, covering the children with herself. Thirianna ignored her wails and opened fire, shredding the woman’s body. The children screamed, their tear-streaked faces spattered with the blood of their mother. The largest of them, the boy, leapt to his feet and charged Thirianna. She reacted without thought, stepping aside from his clumsily swinging fists. She swung the shuriken catapult, bringing it down on the back of the boy’s neck, easily snapping the young human’s spine. He flopped to the lacquered floor without a further sound. The two girls squirmed, trying to free themselves from the dead weight of their mother, eyes wide with horror as their brother’s corpse twitched in front of them. Thirianna looked at the youngest. She was barely old enough to walk, yet the look in her eyes seemed weighed with a lifetime of sorrow. The Aspect Warrior fired again, ripping out the child’s throat with a short salvo. The last struggled to her feet and turned to run. It was futile and she went down in a mess of blood and ragged dress, her blonde locks covering her face as she tumbled onto a rug. Thirianna looked at the sprawling bodies, the swirl of their blood and the splay of their dead limbs. They had been so fragile, so easy to slay

This movie is just a reminder that you should read that damn Terms & Conditions. Have you heard of meetings that should have been emails? Welcome to episodes that should have been previews, as we travel around the world watching different faces have the same conversation, while I battle a fever that could have at least had the decency to wrap this episode in hallucination. First up is Avery, who tricked us into believing she’d spend the night starfishing in a room of one’s own, and instead went full octopus. She wakes up ten years younger, free from the chains of makeup. This is either evidence of a high quality fuckfest, or bathing in the blood of virgins, and it’s Avery’s first night in town, so give the girl a minute to network. Professional gigolo Ash assures us it was just another productive night at the office, but his eyes are protruding just a touch more than before. “Dude is fucktastic, ” Avery explains, eyes shaking manically. “Dude dunked on my vagina and smashed the backboard. I’m not going to be able to do scorpion pose for a week. ” “Connection, ” Ash insists. “We had a lot of intense, heart-centered connection. On a soul level. In an opening the flower petal by petal kind of way. That’s why I’m popular with the florist. ” In the kitchen they produce a variety of brightly colored fruits and vegetables to arrange on the counter, while they discuss how successful they’ll both be in California, before they move to North Carolina or Austin for the “community” and housing prices. Avery is uneasy about her upcoming meeting with Ash’s more attractive brother, Antish, who you might remember from his stint playing Scar in The Lion King. Neither brother drinks, but Avery’s wine-implant has been misfiring, and there’s not a marijuana leaf in sight. No matter how many times she dips her genitals into the ocean, it’s just not the same as tossing back a few dirty martinis and peeing in the street while crying. So she’s gonna like…have to order a drink. If he’s okay with that. If he doesn’t mind. “I only speak in New Age jargon, so I don’t want to restrict your expression, even if it requires imbibing in nature’s deceptive nectar. Thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention. Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, ” Ash salads. “You always know the right things to say, ” Avery responds, as the only person to feel this way. “I feel like you’re coaching me. ” Well, sort of, except Ash’s best play was directly deposited the night before, so yeah. Ash reveals that his brother is an introvert who doesn’t want a 90DF cast member and the entire crew in his face all day, because he’s seen this show and knows his whole joint is going to smell like Burger King and bad decisions for weeks, and cleaning supplies are at a premium right now. His suspicion of Avery makes me wonder if Ash comes from cash, but if this show has taught us anything, it’s that you can have a double-wide propped on concrete blocks owned by the bank with a notice of eviction, and a steady stream of rats and feral children crawling in and out a hole chewed through the door, and a relative will still surface to derp, “She’s jerst after yer gooooold, Jethro! ” After a day of wandering around the city removing toxins and banishing negativity, they decide to enter the presence of an incubus, servant to the great god Buzzkill. Their introduction takes place in the safety of a restaurant, with this (almost verbatim) exchange: Avery: Have you eaten here before? Antish: Yes. Avery: Interesting. What house have you been sorted into? Antish: Slytherin. And you? Avery: Hufflepuff. Antish: Interesting. Most of their interaction is punctuated by “interesting, ” which is a nice, neutral way of saying, “I’m storing this info for future combat. ” What is interesting is that Antish is clearly upset about the possibility of his brother moving to another country, but instead of acknowledging that, he presents his borderline rage as a logical response to the on-off nature of their relationship. “I’m going to need a drink. With vodka. Just turn the bottle upside down into this glass and walk away, ” Avery requests. “You know, I’m going to need one too, ” Ash says. “He will definitely be appalled by this and blame you for my misdeeds, over and over, for the remainder of the season. ” “Well guys, we all know that one drink can lead to two drinks, and you can’t talk to Jesus when you’re drunk. ” Benji, what the fuck are you doing here? “Look at my simpering expression. Do you want this, Avery? ” Antish continues scowling at the drinks, while demanding to know why they think this can work, exactly. He asks about the impact on their children, and Avery explains that Ash told her this wouldn’t be a problem. The dark current roiling from Antish’s eyes towards his brother underscores the likelihood that this is total bullshit. “I feel like I’m being interviewed by the person who wants the job, ” Avery observes, while Antish shreds her resume in the background. Meanwhile, over in Big Ed’s alternative universe, a short middle-aged dude with mayo hair who hasn’t had sex in 28 years and is lying about vasectomy plans is concerned about his 23 year-old girlfriend’s past. Big Ed is fully exhausted by the white-knuckle ten minutes he spent in a public market, valiantly defending his gaping wallet from all the people around him refusing to speak English or count money in American. He furiously scans the horizon for something he can gift himself while insisting he’s treating Rose, and spies a nail salon, where an innocent stranger is tasked with massaging his bean feet and pulling out toe jam with her fingernail. “When Ed stress, he suck life from room, ” Rose considers. “Ed need calm down. No sex 28 years no good. Orgasms back up to brain, leak out of back in sweat river. ” “I was mildly uncomfortable, and moderately inconvenienced, ” Ed explains. “This is definitely not what I signed up for when I went hunting for a barely-legal bride in an impoverished country. Wondering where all the Purell is? I have it. All of it. Purell is the new mayo. ” Rose is disappointed in the day’s trajectory, because she foolishly thought Ed might actually be fun, and that they’d spend their time examining their shared future, which doesn’t fit with Big Ed’s plan to go spelunking through her past. “I haven’t even had a chance to build a detailed timeline around the events of her 17th birthday. And as someone who cheated on his last wife and then gave up, I demand perfection. I’m hoping she’s never had the chance to be young. ” “Relax, I’m on your side, ” Rose indulges. “You promise? Always on my side? Forever and ever? ” There will never be enough assurance. Rose: Yes. You want lollipop? Big Dud: I want a red one and the blue balloon! Rose: You can have lollipop OR balloon. Big Dud: I NEVER GET WHAT I WANT. Then Big Ed is ready to bring up the elephant in every technophobe boomer’s closet of dead ideas: THE FACEBOOK. 4, 000 friends?! How can she possibly have 4, 000 drinks with 4, 000 people on a regular basis? You can’t have a 4, 000-way call, so the only other option is an STI! “This 2020, ” Rose makes a bold attempt. “I click button, say yes, okay? No big deal. Invisible friend, okay? ” “That can’t be how it works. ” “Yes. It’s okay. Open request, all men from Morocco. They want love me for personality. And this one is Soja Boy. He celebrity. ” This matter isn’t settled, but they head to a restaurant, where Big Dud is ready to move from riding her about her mysterious past to demanding she get an STI test to medically explain it. It takes her a minute to understand what’s happening, and when she figures it out she’s livid. Rose: Why you no watch Paul season? Big Dud: I’m sorry. I thought I would get an original storyline, but they really like the germaphobe angle. Rose: Then you get test too. Big Dud: Whoa whoa whoa slow down there, this isn’t about your comfort, it’s about mine. Rose: I feel like you don’t trust me. Big Dud: I don’t. As someone lying about wanting additional children, I have to assume other people are also lying so I don’t have to look at myself. I will now pompously excuse myself and hope that your desperation to escape poverty is in line with my delusions of grandeur. Ed goes outside to arrogantly assume he’s achieved the upper hand, and Rose starts to cry, and says she’s very hurt. She thought Ed would treat her like a person, not a fuck doll. “He thinks I’m a dirty woman. He doesn’t treat me as his girlfriend. ” Then she gets up to rage, and her eyes have gone full Ash. She finds Big Asshole and says that she wants to go home and doesn’t want to be around him anymore. She rapidly fires off her romantic history, which includes Prince’s father bouncing and starting a whole new family with another woman, and asks the very valid question: “Why do I always have to defend? ” Then she storms off, with Ed trailing behind, blathering about how they’re “getting somewhere” and insisting that this information is all he wanted. “That’s another lie, ” Angela is there for us. “Lying again. This is why I don’t trust you, Michael. ” Michael: How did I get here? Big Asshole: It wasn’t my intention to hurt her, or to think about her feelings at all. Rose wants to leave, and Ed insists that his primary concern is her safety, and so he offers to get her a hotel room in another hotel, or a different room in the hotel where he’s staying. She says she wants a different hotel, and he puts her in a cab and she takes off. “I don’t believe in love, ” he warbles. “I’m going to find a nice guys subreddit and talk about how all women are bitches who only want Chad. ” Since we’re already in the heart of darkness: I can’t tell if Lisa is dating Usman or if she’s in Nigeria to arrest him, but I’m certain police work is more romantic than this relationship. Blood on her name fragman. R/Survivor has officially reached the 100, 000 subscriber mark, a fitting milestone to happen during Survivor's 20th year on the air and during Winners at War, what is sure to be a momentous season. To take a look at how we got here, we thought we'd explore r/Survivor 's history. 2008-2011 The subreddit was created on April 18, 2008 by /u/jamoes during Season 16: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites. The oldest post was by /u/jamoes, a link to a recap of Episode 10 of Micronesia on the CBS website. There is no record of another post until February, 2010, at which point Season 20: Heroes vs. Villains was on the air. By the end of 2010, r/Survivor had reached 53 subscribers and a total of 15 posts during it's 2 year history. One user. /u/cuntnuggetz, wondered why there weren't more users around. When 2011 rolled around, r/Survivor began to see it's first tangible growth, quickly passing by the 100 subscriber mark and growing from there. Unofficial episode discussions began popping up during Season 22: Redemption Island. During Season 23: South Pacific, official discussion threads were posted by then moderator /u/entp_in_florida. By September 30, 2011, the sub had reached 340 subscribers. The first Survivor related AMA on reddit came in November 2011 when a cameraman held one on r/IAMA. 2012 The 1, 000 subscriber mark was likely reached early in 2012. On May 9, 2012, the official count was 1, 287 readers. At that point, the first customization of the sub had been deployed: a banner and logo to commemorate Season 24: One World. Later that year, Survivor would hit the 2, 000 subscriber mark during the airing of Season 25: Philippines. On December 18, 2012, shortly after the Philippines finale, r/Survivor reached 2, 500 subscribers. Season 25 also marked the first time that flairs were made available on the Survivor subreddit. Basic, plain text flairs were made available with the names of the Philippines contestants. A handful of these flairs still exist, although mostly among inactive users. During 2012, /u/telekinetic posted a thread titled " The Unofficial Spoiler-Free Rank and Discuss Past Seasons Guide for People who Want to Know What to Watch " - this would serve as the first iteration of "What Season Should You Watch? ", an annual crowdsourced guide/ranking of the seasons to help out users new to the show. Several more Survivor AMAs were hosted on r/IAMA during 2012, including Peih-Gee Law, Rob Cesternino promoting RHAP, and 2 from Rupert Boneham during his Indiana gubernatorial run ( part 1 and part 2). 2013 The subreddit continued much in the same way the next year, steadily growing in size. However, a rather momentous occasion occurred when r/Survivor itself hosted its first ever AMA from none other than Erik Reichenbach shortly after the airing of Season 26: Caramoan. On September 15, 2013, r/Survivor reached 5, 000 subscribers during the airing of Season 27: Blood vs. Water. In 2013, the first iteration of the Spoiler Policy was implemented, barring discussion of future spoilers from the subreddit. 2014 With the advent of Season 28: Cagayan, then moderator /u/endercoaster unveiled a new concept to r/Survivor: gold flairs, available during the preseason and shortly after the premiere. Gold flairs have remained a staple of r/Survivor since and would serve as de facto winner picks for S28-S30. On September 26, 2014, shortly after the Season 29: San Juan del Sur premiere, the subreddit reached 10k subscribers. During this season, episode discussions were posted by /u/AutoModerator, allowing any posting mistakes to be blamed on a drunken bot rather than a human mod. The popular Player of the Week series was also started during San Juan del Sur by /u/KennyTheBoatMaster. Natalie won Player of the Season with a total of 709 votes, less than Yul got for the Winners at War premiere alone. Several more AMAs were hosted on r/Survivor that year, including several from recent contestants, but also from a big get, Parvati Shallow. The big man himself, Jeff Probst, had an AMA on r/IAMA. 2015 Some big changes were seen during 2015. Then moderator /u/Chouette4u unveiled a new CSS design for the sub, giving r/Survivor a fresh, unique look. Much of the artwork was commissioned from the community, including the iconic torch upvotes/downvotes created by /u/noble_radon. While Season 30: Worlds Apart was airing, CBS announced that Season 31: Cambodia - Second Chance would be a returnee season with the final cast being decided by a fan vote. This led to many prospective contestants coming to reddit to campaign for votes, resulting in 7 AMAs in 1 month. Several more not directly tied to voting were held before and after. The summer offseason saw a host of Worlds Apart AMAs, and several older contestants stopped by as well. When Season 31: Cambodia neared, then moderator /u/Stag29 introduced r/Survivor to official winner picks. Unlike flairs, these were independently submitted, allowing users to accumulate badges for correct picks over several seasons. For Cambodia, the submissions closed following the premiere, with 4 users still choosing Vytas after watching his torch get snuffed. Since then, winner picks have closed prior to the premiere. The users with gold flairs from prior winners, including Tony, Mike, and Natalie, were given a badge for that season. Additionally, gold flairs of those winners and all winners moving forwards have been made into shiny, special color flairs. During Cambodia, the coverage of each episode also expanded. Instead of a single discussion thread, there were live threads for both the East and West coast viewings, as well as a post-episode thread. 2016 The subreddit continued largely with the same design for 2016, with then mod /u/bigbrothercan making updates as needed. At the end of Season 32: Kaôh Rōng, the controversial win of Michele over Aubry sent the subreddit into an uproar, leading to the implementation of an edgic policy. During what would normally be the Survivor offseason, the first season of the Australian Survivor reboot hit the airs, giving ample content to discuss for diehard fans. On Septmber 27, 2016, r/Survivor hit 25k subscribers shortly after the premiere of Season 33: Millennials vs. Gen X. For this season, r/Survivor started to use artwork created by users of the sub as the banner. This season would turn out to be a momentous one, as longtime redditor and r/Survivor redditor Adam Klein ( /u/askklein) would go on to win the title of Sole Survivor. At the tail end of 2016, the sub was briefly overrun by memes of Ciera voting out her mom. This was inspired by Jeff Probst bringing up the moment to hype the upcoming Season 34: Game Changers during the S33 finale. 2017 During Season 34: Game Changers, moderator /u/Jankinator implemented the Day After Discussion thread, a place to foster more in-depth discussion about each episode. In addition to another season of Australian Survivor, international Survivor expanded to include Survivor NZ, allowing for even more discussion. In Season 35: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, the Day After Thread was expanded to include a survey about each episode. 2018 In 2018, reddit unveiled a redesign of the website. While the classic site still functions as the home of many of r/Survivor 's customizations such as gold flairs and winner picks, many users now see the redesign as the face of r/Survivor. Moderator /u/Jankinator implemented the r/Survivor design on reddit's redesign. On May 30, 2018, r/Survivor reached 50k subscribers. A stream of international versions came out, including more Australian Survivor and Survivor NZ, as well as a season of Survivor SA, leading to an almost constant on-season for the sub. During Season 37: David vs. Goliath, the mod team relaunched the /r/Survivor Twitter account, which has quickly grown in size. It became clear that a S37 contestant, Dr. Alison Raybould, was lurking on reddit and appreciative of the love that the userbase was giving her despite her purple edit. This led to the "Hi Alison" meme, and eventually, a reddit admin, /u/SingShredCode, dropping by the sub to join in the fun. This also brought to light that there is a dedicated group of Survivor fans working at Reddit HQ! 2019 Last year was r/Survivor 's biggest yet as it cemented itself as the biggest centralized platform devoted to discussing Survivor. The prevalence of the community had become clear, being regularly mentioned extensively in pregame and postgame interviews of players. The Season 38: Edge of Extinction finale marked the highest activity level the subreddit has ever seen in terms of comments and posts, as many users rushed to discuss the controversial ending. Redmond began to tease the potential theme of Season 40. Eventually, it was revealed to be an all-winners season. At that point, speculation began to run rampant on the subreddit. Once the official cast was revealed, memes and discussion continued to flow during the long wait until the season would eventually air. On June 6, 2019, r/Survivor reached 75k subscribers. The Season 39: Island of the Idols finale saw the highest number of page views and unique visitors the sub has ever seen, although it did not generate quite as much discussion as the Season 38 finale. 2020 The advent of the most anticipated season yet, Season 40: Winners at War, has only continued to draw interest to r/Survivor. A record number of winner picks were submitted before the premiere.
