This could've turned out terribly, oh so terribly, but it didn't. It sure didn't. It's a near-perfect cinematic experience and adaptation, delicately told right from the opening exposition dump that haunts the very marrow of my bones. A world with so much beauty soon becomes tarnished by darkness. It only becomes clear around the 45 minute mark why Jackson was chosen for the project; his craft is sweeping and relentlessly classical. Only a splatter and adventure geek could evoke such crumbling destruction and still sell every mythical, at times overwrought, line of dialogue; he believes in it. The world was real to Tolkien, it was real to Jackson, and it's real to the audience. Whenever an acclaimed novel is chosen for a film adaptation, the biggest concern its fans generally have is whether or not the film will capture the essence of the story in the same manner as the author did. So when it was decided to bring J. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings on silver screen, the expectation was so monumental that the trilogy was almost doomed to fail, for this legendary Middle-Earth saga was no mere literary work but over the years had garnered such an unprecedented following that it was deemed 'unfilmable' by many, including Tolkien himself. I didn't have much faith in that movies because I found very difficult for them to make me feel the epic of the books, that feelings of friendship, honor and adventure but they have succeed and I can't get disappointed, thnx mr. Jackson! In the other side, I don't give a 10/10 because I think some commercial aspects have been included on the movie, and man, sure it doesn't need them. I'm talking about the protagonist given to Arwen, u don't need to always center a movie in a love story! I'm simply fed up of that and was one of the point I really enjoyed from the books, and I got disappointed with some stupid scenes like the stairs falling in moria with the characters jumping to the other side or the stupid shield ride in the second movie. For me It's a pity to find that stupid mistakes in such a great films, but I congratulate Peter Jackson for these great movies so must do all the fans of the Tolkien trilogy.

This is my favourite edition of The Lord of The Rings trilogy. Frodo and Gandalf's stare down as to see which one will burst into laughter first will always have me smiling. 3. No one commented on this video for 3 years dam. The incident with the dragon reminds me of obi-wan talking about the clone wars to luke in star wars. This actually reminds me of when I was little, riding my bike in the countryside, and hiding from the farmer at dusk as my friends and I sat atop the haystacks that where piled in rectangles about 10 feet high, and listened to the birds. I've been waiting YEARS for a great fantasy film with elves, swords, and the like. It's about time someone did it RIGHT! Excellent film. They even managed to do it without a cute furry animal(s) to sell MILLIONS in the retail market. HURRAY! Anyone who has not read the books (like me) can enjoy it EVEN more by not picking at "missing" segments and comparing it to the full story. I think three hours is long enough, thank you very much, and it was sliced PERFECTLY. Don't be surprised if this is one of the great film accomplishments of out time, simply extending the success of the book.
