Mr Sandler you did it Amazing movie. The studio must be behind all of these positive reviews. The usernames here are fake. No way this many people had such good things to say about this movie. I walked out after an hour of that jumbled mess of a movie and the cursing didn't even bother me one bit. It's just a sad excuse for a film. I really hope Julia Fox doesn't let fame go to her head and let it turn her into a horrible human being. From what I understand she gave a truly amazing performance for a first time actor, but going by her demeanor I think she likes being in the spotlight which isn't a bad thing in and of itself but she's in a position right now where she's going to get a shit load of attention and however she chooses to cope with it will define her. I really hope she gets humbled by fame and doesn't turn into an insufferable asshole.

The focus of his character is his dark side. A harmless gambler past who is due on many of his wagers. Mike Francesa plays his bookie. Ratner is constantly being hounded by 2 thug enforcers authorized by ARNO (Eric Bogosian) to collect from him or either hurt him badly. Bogosian is a bore. Money problems continue to mount for Howard. But as is the case w/delusional gamblers he believes the rare Ethiopian opals could be his lotto ticket to freedom. He takes what little cash he’s stowed away and places a high-stakes wager on the Boston Celtics. This includes side bets on Center Kevin Garnett during the 2010 NBA playoffs vs Philadelphia. Garnett is infatuated with the ROCK after seeing the gemstone up close during a tour of Howard’s shop. He believes it’s good luck and wants to purchase it. Howard tells him the stone is to be auctioned off. Unfortunately, Howards original asking price is much lower than he’d had it appraised for. Kudos to Garnett in his role. For someone who never had an acting lesson, it's remarkable how authentic he comes across. Uncut Gems is a gritty-no nonsense art house flick. Violent at times. My only complaint was the dialogue. The constant f-bombs were unnecessary and a distraction. The script seems to stereotype some of its characters, making them seem uneducated and downright mentally nimble. Uncut Gems is offset by superb character acting. Judd Hirsch makes a cameo. Turning in a nice performance as a pragmatic family member trying to help Howard. Arno is also a family member, who is the back stabbing muscle responsible for collecting Howard’s debt via 2 of his lieutenants.
