Moana “roku”

107 Min 2016 Country - USA rating - 8,4 / 10 Resume - On the Polynesian island of Motunui, the inhabitants worship the goddess Te Fiti, who brought life to the ocean, using a stone as her heart and the source of her power. Maui, the shape-shifting demigod and master of sailing, steals the heart to give humanity the power of creation. However, Te Fiti disintegrates, and Maui is attacked by Te Ka, a volcanic demon, losing both his magical giant fishhook and the heart to the depths. A millennium later, Moana, daughter of Motunui's chief Tui, is chosen by the ocean to return the heart to Te Fiti. However, Tui arrives and takes Moana away, causing her to lose the heart. Tui and Moana's mother, Sina, try to keep her away from the ocean to prepare her for ascension as the island's chief Dwayne Johnson

I was 10 when the movie came out. Every time this song pops up in my mix I have to listen to it. Moana is the only Disney princess who has hair similar to mine (slightly curly, frizzy, and thick.
Of all the versions, the Brazilian version is the best. Moana with the voice of Any Gabrielly is incredible! ?. The first I heard of Moana was a brief appearance in Zootopia (2015. I was intrigued by the Maori/Polynesian setting and attracted to the fact that the plot was driven not by romance like most prior princess films, but rather by honor, family, and courage (and, to be honest, my own love of sailing. I was not disappointed. From the opening exposition, to the hilarious post-credit scene (see IMBB's trivia, quotes, and connections sections AFTER you watch this masterpiece) and from the use of Dead Reckoning (Reckon correctly, or you are (Sorry, aviation/maritime joke) and well-done musical numbers (Who knew The Rock could sing. to the near-flawless animation and references to other prominent films. Even the family- friendly swear-substitutes and subtle adult humor had the entire audience laughing.
This film, along with Zootopia, Interstellar, Forrest Gump, iRobot, and Independence Day (the original one) among others, is one of my favorites, and one that is a must-see for all members of the family, regardless of age.

I love this movie I watched it like 12 times. I love the small subtleties like the dude pouring the jack in G's glass, or the way Snoop passes the joint to G through the camera. That image director needs a raise. This was another highly enjoyable Disney CGEN feature with an exciting story, lots of laughs, good songs, fine characterisation and most of all, brilliant animation.
From the depiction of luxuriant tropical wildlife, frothy ocean spray and most of all the nuances of the "human" characters, the film is a feast for the eyes. As for the ears, they are well served too by catchy, idiomatic, singalong numbers and witty, funny dialogue not scared to run a little risqué to get a laugh. The story, of Disney necessity, touches on the tried and true, a young independent "princess" yearning for change and adventure, surmounting seemingly insurmountable odds on a quest to save the day, accompanied of course by a wise-cracking companion and just to top things off, a cute, dumb pet. The songs even if they seem like they've fallen off the same wagon as those in "Frozen" are nonetheless mostly pleasant and memorable and are well sung by the cast, even Dwayne Johnston. My main carp would be the use of derivative minion-lite coconut pirates Moana and Maui encounter on their journey but otherwise I found myself frequently caught up by the duo's escapades and interaction arriving at a big happy ever after climax which outdid the rest of the SFX in the process. Lovely film, first class family entertainment.
Lin manuel + the rock perfect chemistry.

My family has gotten sick of me singing songs from Mean Girls. So Disney, i'm coming for you

Im a grown ass adult, my granma died this morning. Our relationship was the exact carbon-copy of moana and hers. I miss her but shes still with me encouraging. Miss you Nonna, thank you for everything. * Dying of cuteness because of the first 50 seconds. Moana is brave, strong and adventurous and there is no mention of falling in love or getting married like lots of Disney films. Perfect role model for my daughter. I am the girl who loves my island and the girl who loves the sea. There's a real power to that line. It breaks my heart everytime I hear it- which is quite often. She loves her people, she CHOSE her people, over her wants and wishes, her whims and calls. Only because her people were in jeopardy did she go after he one wish: the line where the sky meets the sea. It's a powerful message. She chose duty over self.
I watch the movie who ess. Typical Disney but with superb animation, comedy, and an exotic story. Lots of songs though, and much too cute, which makes it probably very good for kids. The arts and animations are stunning. This movie took me by surprise. I was not ready for this scene. Moana looks like my sister. The sea is now full of garbages Save the earth ?.
