@jbernhardsson for real this time!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 25, 2014
We just submitted 0.9.5 to all stores. This versions is stable and it fixes most of the issues people have had. Changelog later. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 24, 2014
@ryosukekurahuto @_tomcc is planning on adding them later this year. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 24, 2014
MCPE 0.10.0 will contain player skins. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 22, 2014
We will release 0.9.5 version this week. We will wait with the Amazon commit until then. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 21, 2014
@DenneyLewis yeah, infinite worlds are pretty frustrating if you have to swim for one hour to cross a sea!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
@MCPE_News_HD Probably!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
@LucasMCPE06 that works as intended, it's evilness is on purpose.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
The stuff I'd like add after I'm done would be: 1. OpenGL 2.0 - 2. New touch controls & boats - 3. Music. All of them out when they're done!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
Good stuff, I've fixed the "locking your phone makes the game really crashy" bug, and a couple of crashes on world load... 0.9.5 soon!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
@BlackCubeX @aspheredawask it's new for 0.9... on MCPE it was pretty important because it allowed us to add caves without killing the FPS.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
@aspheredawask I've added an algorithm to MCPE that lets the game draw 40-60% less, and that makes it faster! Now PC will get it too.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 21, 2014
@Theyoshifan200 I can tell you that 0.9.4 it's In Review, though, which means it should be a matter of days :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 19, 2014
We have submitted 0.9.4 to Appstore, Google Play and Samsung store. Should hopefully be the last 0.9.x update. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 17, 2014
If the version, we will submit it to App store and Amazon store tomorrow. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 16, 2014
@thelord_the yep
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 17, 2014
0.9.3 still has a nasty crash bug, but we're working on it!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 17, 2014
We have submitted 0.9.3 to Google Play. :) https://t.co/t16kZ7j2D7
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 16, 2014
We just uploaded 0.9.2 to the stores! Apple didn’t review 0.9.1 in time so we just rejected it and uploaded 0.9.2, let’s see when it’s out!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 15, 2014
@Watzup14MC I think @_tomcc has fixed that for 0.9.2
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) July 14, 2014
For MC:PE, 0.9.x (how many that may be needed) will be followed by a 0.10.0, not a 1.0.0. We'll try to do more frequent updates
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) July 14, 2014
So if your game stops generating chunks, I have two good news: you just found a Stronghold! And the bug will be fixed in 0.9.2, too.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 14, 2014
Fixed more bugs for 0.9 today, there will be a 0.9.2 bug fix release submitted this week. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 14, 2014
@BrocraftPE yeah, probably before Apple releases 0.9.1 :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 14, 2014
Let the bugfixing continue! Today: more crashes, too many mobs, and stuff!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 14, 2014
@owenfoster333 we have no idea right now! 1.0 will be “the version that has all the PC stuff” and we’ll get there with smaller releases :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 13, 2014
@enogueira728 skins in the first real non-bugfix 0.9.x release, Redstone before or for 1.0!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 13, 2014
@derekduran12 @jbernhardsson @jeb_ yep!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 11, 2014
Turns out that after all 0.9.1 will be a bug fix update! Hopefully it’ll be out next week.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) July 10, 2014
Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.9.0 coming July 10th! :) https://t.co/lUoRSz2MLP
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) July 4, 2014
@PukCrepapo it's fixed in build 11 :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 27, 2014
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) June 14, 2014
Going to work more on performance issues this weekend and hopefully it will be smoother to play in build 5 next week. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 13, 2014
Pheeeew... Aaaalmost done with the new water dungeon, items and mob. Last thing to do is to make it generate in old worlds.
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) June 10, 2014
There's still one bug to fix, plus I need to remove all the //HACK tags, but today is the day. Btw, the beta group may be open already!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 9, 2014
Today @jbernhardsson and @_tomcc will post the beta version of MCPE 0.9.0 to the Android test group. Bug-fixing mode activated!
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) June 9, 2014
Working on all the stuff for the beta. This first version will be a bit buggy but your feedback will be invaluable. More info soon! :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 9, 2014
Apparently, not saving unchanged terrain made Villager discover skyscraper tech pic.twitter.com/OnqF8rASZO
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 6, 2014
The snapshot should be out on Monday, didn't have time to fix the last few critical issues but it is getting there. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 5, 2014
The new profiler showed there where no extremely bad issues, will optimize more after we have release the snapshot. pic.twitter.com/a2Ck2MOMOu
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 4, 2014
We will do our best to get the snapshot out tomorrow, if we manage to fix about 7 remaining bugs. It could be delayed until Monday. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 4, 2014
And if it is delay, it will be even more polished and work better. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 4, 2014
Good news: leaves, beds, fences, cacti etc have soft shadows! Bad news: the chunks are at it again, and there’s a huge mem leak somewhere!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 4, 2014
Ok, I looked into snapshots for iOS: "Betas" support only 1000 users & are only available after iOS 8 is out. So for now, nothing changes.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 3, 2014
Finally, a screenshot playing from an iPad :) pic.twitter.com/dXD6G5ivj8
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 3, 2014
Lots of progress today! Just a few more bugs and some optimisation and we should be ready for snapshot later this week. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) June 2, 2014
To tweet something MCPE-related: we still have a couple of nasty crashes, but if we manage to fix them, next week could be THE week :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 1, 2014
For the Android snapshot I mean.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 1, 2014
@KennyTehMan iOS has to wait the final release because we can’t release untested betas there.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) June 1, 2014
@zahar46253 Not in 0.9.0
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) June 1, 2014
I will hopefully get some more time to post screenshots next week.
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 28, 2014
Working on a performance measuring tool for 0.9.0. Will help us making it even faster. Other than that, mostly bug fixing left. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 28, 2014
@JarzMontano There will be for 0.9.1. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 23, 2014
@sidal_aslan I will post something on Monday. :-)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 23, 2014
@FurkanSancak04 it won't be out next week but hopefully the week after that, again only for Google Play.
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 23, 2014
Aand the new create world screen is there! It only has 3 options for now though, there's no time for the Far Biome. pic.twitter.com/xyUOnWoxDq
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
Importing from 0.8 done, it was easier than expected! It doesn't even take a "conversion", you can play right away. pic.twitter.com/CFI6DQj2eU
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 20, 2014
@rewindgeek nope, not for now... but probably in 0.9.1!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 20, 2014
@Terra_Boy_ it has to have a single core CPU and less than 512 mb of memory. Check your specs! :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
And the good old borders are back, I'm sure everyone missed them! At least you'll get them on old phones only, now. pic.twitter.com/pmdnaHgZiH
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@austingordon55 I still have to make the upgrader that converts old worlds, and keep memory usage under better control! Not much :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@Sneakerhead239 there won't be ocelots in 0.9, they required fishing and fish etc, so we had to decide to add them in the future.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
Aand the new create world screen is there! It only has 3 options for now though, there's no time for the Far Biome. pic.twitter.com/xyUOnWoxDq
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@axelcervantes39 0.9.1, maybe! I want to add it, but it's hardly "required" for this update :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@shoghicp yes, it may or may not be better aligned when released :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@coolcreepermcpe that was the plan, but then it became a bit late. Limited (but big) worlds will come in the future!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@sidal_aslan Flat Worlds are always infinite because they're really cheap, even on old phones.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@Deathstroke666 it will not be in 0.9, it's apparently much harder than I though when I said that :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 16, 2014
@AdilMazyar We are skipping ravines for the pocket edition due to performance issues
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) May 13, 2014
And now there are caves in the Mega Taiga biome, too! (and on mushroom islands) pic.twitter.com/Lk2B2Sg65e
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 15, 2014
Same in MCPE! @DinnerBone "Caves finally cut through most natural surface blocks now!" pic.twitter.com/fy8MyiouDF
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 15, 2014
Also, if you are scared by spiders, going in a forest at night might be up to 50% more unsettling now.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 6, 2014
@imNikkoTV yeah, or more accurately they are spawned by leaves! /mobfarmhint
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 6, 2014
Apparently feature creeping the world generation is my thing, and this came out from the last experiment Friday! pic.twitter.com/Pz6E62XZsH
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 12, 2014
@nexypl_ this is on PC, but we finally tried it on phones and it's good, like 0.8! But a bug makes it slow to a crawl after a while...
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 12, 2014
@MiroslavBuryak I don't actually know, but I wanted it to look like ivy... so it's a keeper!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 12, 2014
Added lava and water drips, if you see them don't dig up! :) pic.twitter.com/d8S9rgcuAv
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 12, 2014
@Dctiger_247 Not in this version but in the future! :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 12, 2014
I know everybody (who is waiting for the PE update) is waiting for the PE update, but we don't have a release date yet. June, maybe?
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) May 10, 2014
So, I've teleported to X=32.000.000... the Stripe Lands? pic.twitter.com/whbAAAuTWL
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 5, 2014
Added support for immersive mode on Android! (note: no Navigation Bar) :) pic.twitter.com/l3y1omaJKM
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) May 9, 2014
MC:PE update: The mob spawner block now spawns silverfish in the strongholds. Haven't done proper rendering of the block yet, though...
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) May 8, 2014
Working on multiplayer again, gone into the fixing bugs phase for 0.9.0. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 30, 2014
There are still a couple of features left but we are getting there. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 30, 2014
@_robmak3 @jbernhardsson “Also remove creative FOREVER” Your wishes have been granted, no creative in 0.9. Removing that now brb
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 3, 2014
Hey people, I won’t remove creative mode I swear, it was a joke turned involuntary trolling!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 3, 2014
@tigre_estuco SOON
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
@Jailbreaker82 yes, it's too much! Tall grass is slow, in the end it will be less than pc I think.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
Please disregard the flying savanna tree, the situation is under control.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
Aha, so THAT mismatched "min" there was the lighting bug! Thanks brain for letting me know at 23:30 of friday!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
On the other hand, now MCPE actually generates worlds without any lighting artifact, the new 3x3 feature engine is a neat improvement.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
@corbinmcqueen pc can only place stuff that is 2x2 chunks big, MCPE works on 3x3 chunks now! This allows correct lighting and bigger stuff.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
@landwii that's exactly what I fixed right now :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
@MCPENEWSINFO1 never found one in the wild, we need to work a bit on the biome distribution :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
@notch Actually it's not as strange as it looks, it's just growing on top of the tall grass.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
I've done a lot of bug-hunting this week, finally the game feels more like stable! Proof: relatively bug-free savanna pic.twitter.com/UVTp98oFkY
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) May 2, 2014
Today I bought some colorful socks. Tomorrow I will finally begin porting strongholds to MC:PE!
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) May 1, 2014
Strongholds will be hard to find, since there wont be any Eye of Enders, but they'll be there somewhere =)
— Jens Bergensten (@jeb_) May 1, 2014
Working on multiplayer again, gone into the fixing bugs phase for 0.9.0. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 30, 2014
There are still a couple of features left but we are getting there. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 30, 2014
The new crafting screen for 0.9.0. :) pic.twitter.com/R4mRfSGENa
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 23, 2014
The interface is not drag and drop but you will be able to see the shape and stuff. We are saving drag and drop for the future. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 23, 2014
Dabbling around with the grass color, added variations and made the tall grass brighter! What do you think people? pic.twitter.com/e5XNDHbRn4
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 11, 2014
@mikedonald221 PC doesn't have variations and has a much darker tall grass, actually :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 11, 2014
“…and if you need raw performance you can go low-level and write Java” - web dev on being cringeworthy to native devs
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 13, 2014
@WakeeSS supershort version: web programmers write for browsers (client/server); native don’t and usually use compiled languages like C/C++.
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 13, 2014
@Brian_Enders somewhat, yeah, but they still get retweeted a lot!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 14, 2014
New feature engine up and running, now with 100% PC portability of stuff! pic.twitter.com/9KBf2iinW0
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@cassykane depends on the view distance, this screen was 512 (32 chunks) and lags even on PC... but it is cooool :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@LeonVdd @TheOddgamer98 @cassykane I'm running it on Windows right now, notice the huuuge render distance :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@Trejjo5112 nope, it's going to be 128 like before, 256 was too slow and required too much memory!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@TheOddgamer98 well, nope :P It allows us to make maps that are 100% like PC, but loading PC maps is another matter, that's not supported!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@MichaWaveOven yes, but writing MCPE maps should be easier now!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@iTrueMU the plan is to have it for 1.0 :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@AelitaRtpuil THAT LOOKS SHOPPED I CAN TELL FROM THE PIXELS
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
@Hitsful who knows!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 10, 2014
On the other hand, now everything is pink: pic.twitter.com/z9IvijEqa9
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 9, 2014
MCPE just became something like three times faster after I found & fixed some not too smart code about work scheduling :D
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 9, 2014
On the other hand, now everything is pink: pic.twitter.com/z9IvijEqa9
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 9, 2014
Pretty grass transitions. :) pic.twitter.com/f8TEsqUHBK
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 7, 2014
The tall grass is currently a little bit broken but we are optimizing! :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 7, 2014
Working with @_tomcc on one of the bigger new crashes, the release is really starting to come along. Just a few more features to add. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 7, 2014
I was wondering why there were no mobs around in the overworld at night... I guess I've found them! pic.twitter.com/R5h09dchHd
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@ThormanCaleb as usual, missing feature!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@Sky_Craft99 definitely bug :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@Sky_Craft99 definitely bug :P
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@Vincw0807 that's what you get for making the game :P Maybe eventually, for 0.9 we really don't have any time...
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@MineCraftIdeas0 it's an "underworld", so yeah a really huge cave. I still have them around in my version!
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
@MisterWhite_548 uhm uhm, interesting detail! Yeah, I'll add it to the TODO at least :)
— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) April 1, 2014
New world generator in action. A couple of more days and the new biomes should work. :) pic.twitter.com/HpUQXlfs2C
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) March 31, 2014
@AsheicS May, I hope. :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 1, 2014
@chrishon01 Yes and yes! :)
— Johan Bernhardsson (@jbernhardsson) April 1, 2014
