Singing the note (not just sidling up close to the note but really singing the note itself. Singing on the beat. Perfect rhythm. And the dancing! WOW! Astaire and Judy. Who today can do what they did? No gimmicks; no salacious wiggling around; no fireworks; no licking wrecking balls; no skimpy clothes; no back-up dancers. Just two performers showing their talent. Never will get better than this. Simply the best.
I am only 14, however I am very well versed in older movies. One of my favorites is "Meet Me In. Judy Garland's presence is amazing in this feature. She can steal a scene from almost everybody. One person where her presence was equaled, if not surpassed, was Margaret O'Brien. Miss O'Brien won a Juvenile Academy Award for her part as 'Tootie. I found the love story between Esther and John quite believable, and the songs "Meet Me In The Cake Walk" and "The Trolley Song" very enjoyable. It was wonderfully acted, and is one of those movies that just makes you feel good, and you can forget about your problems because of watching it. I liked the representation of the year, and I liked the Halloween scenes with Margarget O'Brien and how she was so proud of herself throwing the flour in oakoff's (that may be spelled incorrectly) face. I also liked the sister relationships between Agnes and Tootie, and Rose and Esther. Katie the maid, played by Marjorie Main, was a riot, however I didn't like how she disappeared after the "Snowman Scene. Overall a wonderful '10 out of 10' movie.

How anyone could ever ugly (the mucky movie people of that time) just breaks your heart. She is a timeless classic. Beautiful voice, beautiful woman. Wish she would have known that. ?.
