This is a document which will help GSC OU players to play the right way and build more creatively.

- 0. The Game Flow of GSC
- To play and build correctly, you need to have a proper understanding of the mechanics. You can learn about the mechanics of individual elements such as Moves and Items on Smogon University and Bulbapedia, and you can learn about the mechanics you need to be careful of in GSC on Mechanics Differences Between Generations thread on Smogon Forums, but there was no English article which gave an overview of the overall flow of the game, such as the timing of each damages and recoveries, so I translated the Japanese article into English with some modifications for Pokemon Showdown.
- Note that this is sufficient for competitive gaming, but this may be inaccurate in describing the inner process of the cartridge.
- Also, if you are a beginner in GSC OU, you should get an overview of the metagame in Smogon Strategy Pokedex (including each pages in "Resources"), tournament replays / stats (especially of the most prestigious tournament "Smogon Premier League"), and you will also should need the following tools.
- 3. Explosion in GSC (The article in Smogon University)
- This article is so good that I don't think it needs to be rewritten. I appreciate to Jorgen for writing a great article.
- However, there is one thing I need to add. This is recognition of situations where you can't discard Exploder easily and building methods to prevent that.
- 8. Proposals for rational team management
- This is an article that describes my own process for team building and selecting. I have shared it individually on the thread of Smogon Forums and Discord Team Servers, but I am sharing it here again for the sake of consistent knowledge sharing.
- This article contains the subpage which is mentioned about GSC OU Team Classification.
