Watch stream hope gap mall. Ye Carousel Ride - a Comedie of Divers Errors Part II (Part I is here. ) TD;LR - Oh g*d not again (reprise) Act 1 It was a Monday. There was weather. I remember these things distinctly. Today was the day the carousel was due to be installed. It was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago, but ProjectManager had cancelled that on the day itself by announcing that they'd reallocated the forklift and were refusing CarouselsRUs staff access to site. And then whined loudly about getting a bill for it while their claim for late delivery of the carousel was refused. Today, things were ready. ProjectManager had consented to allow the specialist vendors on site to do their jobs. XYZ Inc. 's comissioning techs would no longer be keeping the parts stock in boxes on the floor of the site office. Or the container we'd had to hire and park next to it after running out of floor space. It was all going to go swimmingly. By this stage of the project, in addition to the commissioning techs, XYZ Inc. had a permanent on-site project and progress manager. ProgressManager had been part of the original bid team, and was very familiar with all the detail of the contract, and how the plant was intended to operate. Their job consisted of making sure that the commissioning techs had everything they wanted, stopping ABC Corp. dragging them off to deal with somebody else's problems, reading the riot act to ProjectManager on a daily basis, ordering in any local trades we needed, and helping out on site with sundry smaller stuff to save everyone else racking up too many airmiles. So about the time I got into the office, I also got a text from ProgressManager to tell me that the CarouselsRUs team had arrived on site as promised and were unloading their gear. Great, that saves me a phonecall to check. I texted ProgressManager back asking them to keep an eye on things and tell me if anything came up, and went back to my day. Not much later I get a phone call. It's ProgressManager. "Morning OhJoy, I think you need to know there's going to be a bit of a problem with the carousel. " "Hi Progress, what's up? " "It's not going to fit where they've told us to put it. " "You're kidding. That was measured. Properly. I was there, I think you might have been too. " "Yup. " "Is the carousel too big? I mean bigger than spec? " "I'm not an expert, " admitted ProgressManager, "And it's still in bits at the moment anyway, but from what I've seen, it looks to be about right. If it's a couple of inches off, that's not the problem anyway. " "So... Hang on... You said it won't fit where we've been told to put it. " "But you didn't say that it won't fit where it's supposed to go. " "Nope. " "Or, for example, that it won't fit where the project plans show it's supposed to be installed. " "So ProjectManager has changed the location after the machine was built and not told anybody? And probably did it in the last two weeks since CarouselsRUs were last there. " "&%$#! Will they never f*cking learn? Where is it now? " "You've got this far, you might as well guess? " While ProgressManager stays on the line and YoungerMe goes and gets a set of floor plans to lay out by the phone, you and I should probably have a quick refresher on the ShinyNewFactory's layout and building nomenclature. ShinyNewFactory was all new, and conceptually at least, each production line was laid out more or less straight. So in order, if you walked through the plant, there'd be a loading dock, storage space for supplies coming in, pre-processing, the actual production/packing line, a slice of the warehouse, and another loading dock for goods out. Step ten yards to the left or right, and there's another line laid out in parallel doing more or less the same thing. This was more complicated in practice, because some lines might share supplies/pre-processing, or work together in the production hall, or double back on themselves to fit in the same length as the others, but you get the general idea. All this was then housed in pretty standard industrial building with a grid of pillars holding up a sawtooth pitched roof. Walls etc. were hung off the pillars and trusses wherever they were needed. In the first draft, the pillars, and hence all the roof trusses, had been at a totally uniform pitch, which (pretty sensibly) meant everything was built from the same modular steelwork. When we started to lay out the plant, some machines just wouldn't fit happily, so a couple of grid rows were given longer spans, and hence futher between pillars. ProjectManager had tried to keep on changing this, but someone somewhere had actually clamped down on that, and the building as built was pretty uiniform, except where there was good reason for it not to be. Except in the robot palletisation area, where there was a forest of pillars to support a mezzanine floor with a suite of offices and conference rooms for ProjectManager's eventual habitation. This forest was so thick that it was genuinely hard to get a pallet truck in there, let alone a half-ton robot. Giving the robot arm room to swing and do its job was straight up impossible. XYZ Robotics threw a fit when they found out, and ProjectManager duly made room for the robots by having some emergency structural alterations carried out with angle grinders. At the weekend when SiteManager wasn't looking. Then it was SiteManager's turn to have a fit. These modifications ultimately had interesting effects on the structural stability of the mezzanine offices, which I for one declined to ever set foot in. I've got pictures, but sadly I can't share them. The naming scheme for all this was surprisingly simple and logical. If you stand in the loading dock, the pillars holding up the factory wall are row 1. And they're called A, B, C, etc., starting with A on the left. Next row of pillars inside the building is row 2, so its pillars are A2, B2, C2 etc. Guess what the third row's pillars are called. So any one pillar had a unique identifier of a letter+number. The space between any two pillars could be indicated with those pillars' names, and as a sanity check they two pillars will share either the letter or the number. Kind of like a battleship grid, but we've labeled the lines and intersections instead of the squares. I hope that's clear, so let's get back to the story. I looked at the plans. The standard grid meant that there were many, many places the carousel would theoretically fit. But a lot of those were already full of XYZ Inc. machinery. Assuming ProjectManager and their minions hadn't moved any of our stuff overnight, that left fewer options. There were even fewer sensible ones. The carousel was supposed to go between pillars G5 and G6. That put it just into the phase one production hall, on the right-hand side next to wall between phase one and two. "Is it still in the main production hall? " "Warm, " said ProgressManager. Thinks. One of ProjectManager's minions has previously sent me a picture of the carousel power supply cable/socket attached to a pillar as proof ABC Corp. had done it. You might recall there'd previously been minor wiring/presence/reality issues. The picture shows the cabinet/socket on a pillar next to a wall. And the pilars are steel H-beams, so the orientation of the beam tells me it's a side wall - so it must be an A or a G pillar if it's in the main hall. "The west side's full of doors through to the office block and stuff, doubt it's there. Got to be on the east, G-pillars. " "Warmer. " ProgressManager spent their days dealing with the sharp end of this, and was apparently enjoying getting their own back on the world in general terms. "G3's in process, so can't be there. [Large thing] was installed between G4/5 months ago, so it can't be there, G5/6 is where it's supposed to be and isn't. " "Right so far. " "It's one bay up the wall at G6 and (G)7. Has to be, the stairs to the plant offices are against the wall between 7 and 8 and then it's open through to phase two and under the mezzanine from G8 until the warehouse wall, and not even that [current slang term of endearment for ProjectManager] would just randomly block that. " "But the spacing between 5/6 and 6/7 is the same, there's just as much room on the ground either way, so it must look like it's going to be too tall. " "I know you can work it out. " "Ohh... That's where the main steam lines run right across the hall, between pillars 6 and 7. That's got to take several feet off the headroom. No way it'll fit. " "Right on the money. " I seemed to have won that round, and it was time to ask questions. Starting with "Why can't it go where it's supposed to, between G5 and G6? " "Oh there's a fire exit there now. " You know when you can hear someone grinning on the other end of the phone? That. "Not on these plans, there isn't. " "Yeah, [current slang term of endearment for ProjectManager] decided to have one there instead of [two others elsewhere]. Save ABC Corp. the cost of a door. " "That's idiotic. " "You want to know the best bit? " I did. "Go on. " "They're really tight on the distances between exits allowed by OHS, so they've had to put the doorway right in the middle of the section to comply... " I'm looking at the plans again. "But isn't [thing] just on the other side of that wall? And also right in the middle of the section? " Laughter. "Yes. " "How far can the fire door actually open? " "About four inches. " "That might be a limitation in the event of a fire. I suppose you could pass a hose through the gap from outside for people to fight it themselves. Does ProjectManager know about that yet? " "I don't think so, I'd have heard the shouting. " "What did the door installer say? " "Perfect jobsworth. That's what the paperwork said, so that's where they put the door. Did say they'd be billing ABC Corp. extra for the grief caused by only having access to work from one side. " "Install a lot of one-sided fire doors that can't be opened or accessed fromWatch stream hope gaps. 10 star rating for this cinema. I loved it the way of direction. Watch Stream Hope gapi. Why do Americans keep making movies and tv shows that are about Russia? They never get it right, the actors don't look or sound Russian, they rarely get right anything, they love to put details into characters that are so far from the truth it hurts, historical inaccuracies and in general, everything that Americans do about Russia sucks. Yet, they still make movies and series about it like they're specialists or smth.Watch stream hope gap store. Watch Stream Hope gap. Love the band. Very enjoyable drama about an couple whose marriage is strained and break up and the effects on each and their grown son. Some humour but a serious film. Performances are first class and as usual Annette Bening is outstanding. John O'Connor (Gods Own Country) also is a stand out.Watch stream hope gap ga.
