So as the school holidays comes to an end in Australia we finish off with yet another release of a children's film. The funny part is that it's a bit like a recipe, as it contains parts of all the other films I've reviewed already these summer holidays! You take the machismo of Playing with Fire, add the silliness of Farmageddon, plus a touch of heart from Frozen 2, not forgetting some funny one-liners from Jumanji, finish it off with some espionage from Spies in Disguise, garnish it with the child-friendly action of Star Wars and you have a perfectly satisfying film called My Spy. Mr. 9 and I ate it up (and reviewed it) last week when we saw it at Palace Nova cinemas!

JJ (Dave Bautista) is an undercover CIA agent who is not exactly inconspicuous. After a weapons deal goes horribly wrong he is assigned to surveillance duty with tech-specialist Bobbi (Kristen Schaal. Their job is to keep an eye on a mother and daughter who may be in danger if a global terrorist finds out where they live. But JJ isn't exactly qualified for surveillance duty and it's not long before he is caught out by clever 9 year old Sophie (Chloe Coleman) the girl he is supposed to be watching. The two work out an arrangement where Sophie won't tell her mum Kate (Parisa Fitz-Henley) that they are being watched, but only if JJ teaches Sophie how to become a spy. The two don't exactly get along but over time a friendship develops, much to the chagrin of Bobbi who knows that this is a serious breach of the CIA surveillance rules. But, as expected, trouble inevitably finds its way into Sophie and Kate's life and we are left to see whether the spy training that JJ gave this precocious 9 year old will succeed or fail spectacularly. THE GOOD For a film like this, with a storyline that has been done to death plenty of times before, I was actually surprised at how much I liked My Spy. But my enjoyment didn't come so much from former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Stuber) but the confidence and acting ability of kid actor Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies. In a lot of these 'kids teaching adults to be kids' films the child usually comes across as bratty and unlikeable but Coleman finds a great balance of clever, likeable and entertaining which Mr. 9 and I really found appealing. Also when you have a great comedy support cast like Kristen Schaal (Gravity Falls, Toy Story 4) and Ken Jeong (The Hangover movies) the laughter also lifts a notch too. Mr.9: I really liked Sophie in this film when she is learning to become a spy. The part where she keeps looking at the explosions behind her was really funny because JJ had to keep turning her head around. THE BAD Bautista seems to have found his niche in Hollywood at taking characters who are large, muscle-bound, meat heads with not much going on upstairs. Alongside professional comedians like Schaal and Jeong his comedic acting can sometimes be painful to watch as he tries to compete with them for laughs but comes across more forced than natural. And for those of you looking for an action film this is not entirely the case with My Spy. Although it is bookended with big, action, set pieces it is more a romantic comedy as much of the film is taken up with telling the story of JJ's budding friendship with Sophie and finding a possible love interest with her mum, Kate. Mr. 9: It got really boring in the middle because there was no action happening. The bad guy was there at the start and then disappeared until the end of the film. It seemed different from what the trailer showed. THE UGLY For those of you who are familiar with Dave Bautista you would know that he is bald up top. Yet for some unknown reason the hair and makeup team decided to either spray paint or put a toupee on top of his head which is jet black and extremely short. It looks so unnatural and left me staring at the top of his head for most of the movie. Somewhat in shock and somewhat in fascination I couldn't stop looking at this unusual follicle choice. I didn't have high hopes for My Spy after seeing the trailer but walked out pleasantly surprised at how a completely unoriginal film could be so enjoyable. Bautista's charm and Coleman's likeability really carry this film above 'just another comedy. An enjoyable film to finish off the school holidays! THREE AND A HALF TOUPEES OUT OF FIVE Mr. 9: All the spy stuff was fun and the movie was also pretty funny although it had a lot of swearing for a 'PG' film. Three and a half out five.

I uninstalled chrome and it went down to 30% which was still unusually high considering I wasn't doing anything once I restarted my computer. This made me believe the issue was still there but because I wasn't using chrome with its high memory usage the symptoms just didn't show as bad as before so I reinstalled chrome. The issues actually still stayed down a bit and memory usage sat around 50% but now it is back to the mid 70s despite me not doing anything. Next I considered it being malware so I decided to download a bunch of anti-virus programs to scan my pc. I also went through the malware removal guide pinned on this sub. I currently have a lifetime license to malwarebytes so I scanned with that. I also scanned with superantispyware free edition, spy hunter 5, hitman pro, and ESET online scanner. The only one that found anything was spyhunter 5 which can be seen right here. I honestly don't know how to feel about it. Either spyhunter is the only program worth anything that found this trojan or it is some time of false alarm. I know that sounds stupid but after using 4 programs with only the 5th one showing results it just doesn't give me a sense of certainty. Currently the ESET scan is still going and has detected 4 objects but I do not know what they are. I will update the post when those results come in but this is what I have right now. I am hoping I can get some help here. One friend recommended a fresh windows install but I would like to avoid this if possible. He also suggested I do a reset and keep personal files but right now I am in a class that requires use of the program quickbooks and I am afraid if that gets wiped that I won't be able to get it back before assignments are due. This discussion will be R-D centric, because that's the service I subscribe to, but other debrid services will offer similar functionality. R-D offers three main advantages, none of them Kodi-specific. First, it bundles subscriptions to multiple File Locker services, also know as Hosters, which are repositories of files of all types, not just video. File Lockers generally offer two or more tiers, free and paid, and using them as a guest generally means severe limitations on how many files you can download over a set period, how big those files are allowed to be, and how fast the locker will send the files to you. The RapidGator locker, for instance, limits downloads to one file every two hours, maximum size of 2GB, and basically dial-up speeds for free users. Paid users OTOH can download files of any size, up to ten at a time, at up to 300mbps. Higher paid tiers increase these limits even higher. If you've ever tried to download a file from the Internet and been directed to a page that asked you to sign in to be able to download at full speed, or made you wait up to 60 minutes or more for your download to start and then sent it to you at a crawl, then you have encountered a File Locker service. Always check recent social media notifications and any official Disney information regarding access to ROTR Rise of the Resistance is currently Disney's flagship attraction and that comes with it some considerations that are different than other rides. Rise of the Resistance (RotR) is the most technologically advanced, most immersive, most expensive, most complex attraction ever built set in one of the most beloved and popular fictional universes. This means that it will be extremely in demand and due to the complexity it will experience faults and delays as the kinks are fully worked out. I hope in this guide I will be able to answer as many questions about access to RotR. Planning Arrival Plan to arrive between an (1) hour to 30 minute before official park opening. Due to changes in operation boarding groups will not be distributed until exactly Park opening. If you are in the park before park opening everyone has the same random chance at securing boarding groups. The system will handle the boariding group requests it receives in a first come first serve manner however with thousands of guests in the park able to join a boarding group at the same time earlier arrival no longer provides advantages for earlier boarding. I will discuss arrival for EMH in a separate section. Transportation * Car: Most reliable is your own vehicle. The parking lot will not be open overnight and will vary opening depending on scheduled park opening. Uber/Lyft: You can Uber/Lyft to the park after parking lot open, alternative is to Uber to swan/boardwalk resorts and walk along the path to Hollywood studios if you want to arrive at gates before the parking lot opens. This no longer provides advantage to getting on ride earlier Disney buses: The Disney buses will operate around their scheduled operating hours however in the last during busy times of the year or expected higher demand will sometimes begin running earlier. Skyliner: The Skyliner will operate during its scheduled operating hours. These will be posted by Disney and resort personnel will be able to provide guidance for the skyline schedule. Friendship boats: See above, same as skyliner. Boarding Groups Major Change: Boarding groups will not be distributed until official park opening time. Arriving to park substantially early will not give advantage to getting an earlier boarding group. A boarding group is NOT a fastpass. A boarding group is essentially a virtual spot in a very very long line. Instead of having to spend your whole day waiting in a 5-6+ hour long line you get to spend that time enjoying the rest of the park WHILE you are also waiting in the virtual line for RotR! You cannot join a boarding group unless you are in the park (determined by scanning your ticket/magic band at the gate) Everyone in the party that wants to ride MUST be in in the park at the time the boarding groups go live. (You cannot send someone ahead to get a boarding group for their whole group) Process Prepare your phone (Make sure your Disney app MDE is downloaded and up to date and your phone has a good connection to either cellular data or the Disney Wifi. Also ensure that the ticket you are using is attached to your MDE. Enter the park (Enter as you normally do with magic band/ticket) Wait until the time that Disney has announced the boarding groups will go live. (Park opening unless otherwise instructed) Join boarding group (Press the join boarding group button and select all of the members of your party. Once that is done press continue and you will be in a boarding group) Congrats! Your now in line to ride RotR Waiting Once you have a boarding group you are actually in line for RotR without having to wait for hours and hours and hours. When your boarding group is called you will have 2 hours to get to the entrance of RotR. Leaving the park/WDW does NOT affect your boarding group so feel free to leave park as desired. Current operations work the same way as traditional park openings. You will be allowed to enter the park before opening but will be held in a hub area until scheduled park opening. Follow times guides for operating attractions. Park no longer opening select rides early to accommodate mass crowds before park opening. When your group is called there will be cast members with iPads ready to scan your band/ticket to confirm your boarding group. After this you will have a short standby wait that for me has varied from 20 minutes on day one to just about 40-60 minutes on the following days I was there. Delays/Downtime: This is the most advanced ride in the world and It is only two weeks old with no soft openings before the grand opening. This is to say, that you should expect the ride to experience delays throughout the day. Operations for the ride have improved over the weeks increasing capacity however the ride has still been experiencing delays. What happens if the ride is delayed? There are different scenarios that you can find yourself in when the ride might be delayed: In the queue In the preshow sections (anything after the first door and sitting down) On the attraction itself. In all scenarios if the ride is delayed more than I believe ~15/20 minutes of downtime they will empty the ride and preshow area. I have personally experienced the first category once and the second category twice. Queue: If you are waiting in line and they think that the ride will be back up shortly you will just be waiting for that time. This is up to operations deiscretion and some guests have reported waiting upwards of an hour while the ride is down. In the event that the queue is dumped the following will occur. Walk through backstage area and the CMs will provide guest recovery. The result will be (1) ‘Multiple Experiences fastpass in the MDE to be used for another attraction and a second entry (that has been reported to be different depending on the day) that provides reentry into the standard line for the ride. When I was dumped from the line everyone was scanned 3 times and it resulted in 2 ‘multiple experiences showing up on fp+ and I confirmed that both of then were valid to get back onto the ride so if you end up waiting extra you might get an extra ride out of it. This is most likely an unintended glitch and would not be surprised if this is resolved going forward. Preshow: You will most likely be dumped from the preshow going backstage and exiting near the actual ride exit. You will be given one physical paper ride reentry to RotR Your band will be scanned twice resulting in one digital ride recovery pass showing (1) ‘multiple experiences in MDE. The physical fastpass will be used to reenter through the fastpass line and the digital one will get you back into the regular line. On Ride: you will be evacuated from the ride (And get to walk through a Star Destroyer. I know this breaks the magic but the sets are incredible and Im sure its quite the special experience to get to see them in this light. Lines/Where to Go: The entrance to RotR is very busy and it is hard to figure out where to go just by observing the area. The area in front is roped off and filled with CMs with iPads with multiple paths of entry to the ride depending on situation. Boarding Group: the line forms starting outside the roped off area leading out of Batuu towards/through the grand avenue tunnel. There will be a CM verbally checking your boarding group and then there will be a row of CMs with iPads to scan your boarding group. From here you are in the actual line for the attraction. Guest Recovery Digital: This depends on the kind of recovery and what the operational status of the ride is. If you are redeeming your digital recovery pass go towards the middle of the roped off area and tell the CMs. They will bring you in to the roped off area in front of the next boarding group and you will either be directed into the fastpass line or the regular line depending on situation. He was using a visor of some sort, the cheater. She watched as Jon pulled out a communicator and contacted her. Jaxona, not wanting to let him know she could spot him, stepped out into the open and pretended to look about. “Fancy meeting you here, ” Jon said as he approached. “Yeah, ” Jaxona laughed, “Somebody pulled me out of my nice pool in the middle of the night. Youre late by the way. ” “I was followed, I had to lose them, ” Jon replied. Jaxona suddenly noticed flecks of a dark liquid on his shirt. “Is that… blood? ” she asked in alarm. “Yeah, when I said ‘lose I meant ‘kill. Im done playing nice. ” “Eep! ” “Thats what he said, ” he chuckled flexing the fingers of his bionic arm. “Turns out they arent as invincible as they think they are. ” “… … Oh! … Right! … Do you, um, need us to clean it up? ” Jaxona asked. “Theres a dead body, one of Patricias ‘immortals, in a dark alley near 157th and Starlane Drive. If it could disappear that would be great. ” “Now how do I do that? ” Jaxona asked looking off into the distance for a second. “Ok! Hang on! ” she exclaimed. She contacted Federation Intelligence HQ and called for a cleanup crew. Xree~knExZ@ was awakened by his communicator and was instantly alert. KaRe~VxK%Lora, curled up next to him in a nest of cushions, made an unhappy noise as he got up. Wrapping a robe around himself he walked into the next room. “No, you were right to wake me… I did leave orders to contact me immediately concerning anything related to the Kalent Forum Liaison… She WHAT. When? … No. Do it. Send the crew immediately. I authorize it, top priority. Let the duty officer know Im on my way. I will be there shortly. ” Xree~knExZ@ terminated the call and returned to the bedchamber to get dressed. KaRe~VxK%Lora looked up at him as she turned on a lamp sitting on the floor next to their nest. “Sorry, KaRe”, Xree~knExZ@ said as he shrugged into a shoulder holster. “Somethings come up. ” “Its ok, darling, ” she replied with a smile. “Actually, this happens a lot less often than I thought it would. ” “Seniority has its perks, ” Xree~knExZ@ chuckled. “There arent too many people left who can wake me without fear… Including the twerp who just did. Im going to chew someones ears off, their fins actually, but you get the idea. ” “That, Kalent Forum person? ” “Yeah, cant go into details but the coffee bot is about to meet unhappy me, ” he growled as he put on his jacket. “Only you can anger me without consequence, ” he smiled. KaRe~VxK%Lora threw a pillow at him as she laughed. “Well, good hunting, my love, ” she smiled. “Thanks. I just wonder what is my prey is tonight, ” he replied as he left. As soon as he walked away his smile quickly faded replaced by a snarl. He grabbed his communicator angrily. “Jaxona, what the fuck is going on? … What do you mean you cant tell me. … Dont you fucking move. I will be there in-… What do you mean I cant come? You cant fucking tell me-… YOURE PULLING RANK. YOU DONT-… Wait… Repeat exactly what you just said word for fucking word … Ok, coffee-bot, Im holding position but when you get done with whatever it is you are doing I am going to want some fucking answers, maam. ” Xree~knExZ@ looked at his communicator in complete bewilderment for a few moments before shrugging and walking into the night. “Sorry about that, ” Jaxona said sheepishly. “The boss was about to storm his fluffy butt down here and I had to talk him down. ” “Didnt take him long, ” Jon smiled. “Yeah, ” Jaxona replied. “I guess he had a flag put on my tail. ” “I wonder why, ” Jon chuckled. “Ok, so I need to talk to you but first I need to know exactly who or what I am talking to. I bet you know what I am talking about. ” “Im sorry but I cant. ” she trailed off looking very odd. She sat silently for a few moments and then sighed a long bubbly sigh. “Alright. I guess I have no choice do I? ” “Nope, ” Jon replied. “If we are going to work together, which is absolutely necessary, I am going to need to know what the fuck I am dealing with. ” “And you wouldnt be here if there was any other option… any other option, ” Jaxona said quietly. “Look, I only want to break about a hundred different fishy laws once. Do you mind if another person joins us? You need to be talking to them anyway. ” “… Alright, ” Jon replied. “But if youre fucking with me I will fucking-” “Yeah, yeah, stow it, cockbite, ” Jaxona replied her eyes wide with surprise. “Sorry! I didnt mean that! I-” “Whatever, bitch, ” Jon said with a little smile, “Lets go. ”. Xree~knExZ@ sipped a cup of coffee while seated at a table in a back room of a starport diner that was one of the former directors favorites. He didnt even know it had a back room. Maybe this was why it was one of her favorites. He smiled as a waitress brought in everyones orders and a large insulated pot of coffee. A few minutes later another door opened and Jaxona and Jon Wintersmith walked in. Xree~knExZ@ raised an eyebrow as he rose and shook Jons hand. Of all the people that could have entered the room with the “coffee bot” he was perhaps the least expected. “Xree~knExZ. Federation Intelligence, ” he said introducing himself. “Jon Wintersmith, Terran Ambassador. ” Everyone took their seats and looked at Jaxona. “Well? ” Xree~knExZ@ asked. “Ok, ” Jaxona said. “What I am about to tell you is a Kalent secret and one that I am begging you both to keep. If this gets out I will probably be dragged back to our homeworld in disgrace and you both will lose all cooperation from the Kalent, something that we are probably going to need. If Jon is coming to us with anything other than a middle finger then things are likely pretty grim. ” “Grim is an understatement, ” Jon replied. “Ill keep your secret. ” “Likewise, ” Xree~knExZ@ said as he took another sip. “I see no profit in betraying you especially if what I am beginning to suspect is true. ” “So, ” Jaxona said calmly, “What do you know about something we call ‘The Great Ocean? ” “Its what you call retirement, right? ” Xree~knExZ@ asked. “I heard the late director mention it once or twice. ” “Retirement is a good term for it but rather incomplete, ” Jaxona replied. “As you know our development of age reversing tech did not go well. ” “I didnt know that, ” Jon said. “It almost destroyed our entire civilization, ” Jaxona said. “No good can come from it. ” “Based on whats happening thus far, Im inclined to agree. Please continue. ” “Well, youth was a bust but the thought of existing beyond what was our normal lifespan once tasted was difficult to turn away from entirely, ” Jaxona said as she reached
