Overall, it's a good movie, although I think they didn't have the budget to film more about the breakdown of society. They touch on it, and they're the best parts of the movie - attacks on pharmacies and food trucks, law enforcement abandonment, etc. But some questions remain unanswered or are never addressed, like: 1. Why does a babe like Gwenyth Paltrow live in Minnesota? And I don't say this to slight Minnesota. I think they're too good for the likes of her. 2. Does Jude Law's character ultimately advise people to get the vaccine? He films people in line, and we see him interviewing someone waiting for the vaccine. but they never wrap up what he decided to blog about - pro or anti vaccine? 4. Do people run out of hand sanitizer, soap and food? It's not clear if companies totally shut down and stop manufacturing products. Some airports are open. Others are closed. The Board of Trade shuts down, as do schools. At one point there's no food in the grocery store. But then Damon is shopping at a fancy store. And why do cell phones still work? Have people kept paying their cell phone bills? How could they if they're not working? Do people even use money anymore? 5. Why doesn't Sodenbergh or CNN ever mention New York. The biggest city in the US isn't affected by this? What would happen in the NY airports and subway shut down? Even if he didn't have the money to film there, he can't mention it? 6. Marion Collard's character is last seen running back towards the village that kidnapped her. But she's at the airport already. And the village seemed super far away. Is she planning on taking a taxi there? Her kidnapper had a cell phone. Why doesn't she just call him? Now that they know she's no bargaining chip, they'll likely just kill her, not be all "Thanks for letting us know the vaccine was a placebo." At best, she'll have to start teaching those kids again - for free! Why did those villagers need the vaccine anyway? None of them had the flu.
