Ratings=6,7 of 10. writed by=H.P. Lovecraft. Summary=When an iridescent meteorite plummets from outer space and into the property and foundations of a remote New England estate, a malignant force begins to insidiously permeate the lives of an unassuming family. The effects are gradual - time begins to dilate, nature assumes an otherworldly hue - and all things bright and beautiful eventually mutate and corrupt under its influence. So proceeds this eerie adaptation of the short story by H.P. Lovecraft, one of horror's most haunting, here presented by the enigmatic South African filmmaker Richard Stanley. Returning to Midnight Madness 29 years after his hypnotic killer-robot fandango Hardware first premiered in the section, Stanley summons his uniquely hallucinogenic sensibilities to envelope his endearing characters in surreal, incremental dread. At first, their domestic bliss is quietly fraught with an undercurrent of unnerving tension, before eventually boiling over into delirious, acid-fueled terror. The patriarch of this doomed brood is none other than Nicolas Cage, continuing his recent renaissance as a midnight-movie staple with an increasingly unhinged performance that reliably ricochets among every technique in the Stanislavski playbook. The rest of the ensemble, which includes Joely Richardson and Tommy Chong, play effective foils to Cage's delirium, but the real star of the show is the alien entity itself. This all-consuming, dispassionate menace manifests itself in a series of grotesque, body-horror, and psychedelic spectacles, worthy of its ineffable literary origins. &ref(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BZjQ1YTM4M2UtMTQxNS00YjdjLTgwZGYtZTgzYmFiYjFkYzNlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTkxNjUyNQ@@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_.jpg). They need to patch the glitches they are getting out of hand. Great analysis! The Color Out of Space was originally adapted to film as Die Monster Die, which was Boris Karloff's last film. In Lovecraft's original story, the color was described as a color no one had ever seen before, and that it didn't exist on any known spectrum. I thought it was clever that they made the color pink in this new film, because technically pink isn't on the color spectrum either. Only knew about this movie because it's part of Alamo Drafthouse's Fantastic Fest. It's a great movie to see in a theater where everyone's had a beer or three. So... she lost to arthas badly just when arthas was still undead... time passed. today he beat lich king power alone. Wow, so many original comments. I'm in. Can't wait to see this along with Underwater. Let's hope someone brings The call of Cthulhu, At the Mountains of Madness, and the Dunwich Horror to the big screen and do it the Justice these epic stories deserve.
Plot Twist: we are fake, and the movie is real. This movie was so bad. “Mysteriously colours like never seen on earth” -red. Yes. The return of Richard Stanley. Gave me chills, I am beyond excited. Congrats to Richard and crew. “The serpent and the rainbow” is another excellent one but its more of a voodoo horror movie... ??. There is going to be a trilogy, though. This is part 1 of a trilogy. Using a lot of colour and thus creating a kaleidoscope, what you are only doing, is exactly that. Creating an illusion of a supposedly quality film, in which the colours just make you dizzy, to get lost in between, and desperately wanting for the film to become black and white for a change, or even disappear completely from the screen.
Do not misunderstand my saying. I love colours and I love kaleidoscopes. What I didn't appreciate, was this film. They tried to carry us all in a LSD inspired world, to enchant us and distract us from a particularly bad Nicolas Cage acting and many other similar blanks of nothingness that made the "construct" childish and vulnerable. br> We were saved by the portal that absorved them all turning them to particles, by the collapse of the energy field, just in time or better say, on the brink of our brain exploding from boredom.
I cant wait to see this, im a huge huge fan of lovecraft and im glad to see the mythos get more attention, i just hope they dont mess around with the stories too much, they dont need to remove or add alot of things. and it really shouldnt become a victim of the woke culture cause thats a surefire way to ruin anything. and nick cage gets alot of undeserved shit for his movies, he isnt the best actor but he is an amazing one, he has a wide range, and if he is directed properly and given the right script he is great.
Darkness.

This seems a lot like Annihilation with Natalie Portman

Jungle Cruise looks very unique. Her character is like a mix of Mary Poppins and India Jones. Interesting mash-up. Come to the USA. NYC.
Please let a producer or content manager from Apple TV, Amazon or Netflix serialize this story line. Andrew Symington brought me here. Saw it, Loved it.

Love M Night movies even if everyone else hates them. This looks interesting

Really excited to see this and all the symbolism hidden within. Thanks for the review

Thats a hard yes.

I guess nothing good can come of the greys. Masterfully done. One of my favorites

Glad to see The Void getting a mention here. I was extremely impressed how much revolting stuff they managed to create out on such a limited budget. Yuggoth. 1:39 I hope this movie has a scene where someone walks continuously into a wall. Metal isn't dead; it just moved to Japan and retired. All in the Game pretty much a Perfect Song Choice for Jumanji! Kudos, folks!?.
