Evaporite deposits could not be from evaporated inland seas because they are too pure; they contain no organic matter.
蒸発残留堆積物は、内陸の海の蒸発物からは形成されない。というのは、混合物が少なすぎるからだ。内陸の水には有機物がない。

1. 蒸発残留堆積物は不純物を含んでいる。死海にあるSedom Formation蒸発残留堆積物は、2km以上の厚みがあるが、80%が純粋に岩塩で、20%が石膏・泥灰土・チョーク・ドロマイド・頁岩・花粉など物質が混合していた[Niemi et al. 1997, 46; see also Jux 1961; Klaus 1970]。Paradox Basinの蒸発残留堆積物は、腕足類、コノドント、植物遺体を多く含む薄い層を多く持っている[Duff et al. 1967, 204]。
   ~塩分の多い流域では、生物の生存には過酷な環境であり、不純物は少ないと考えるべきである。
