以上をすべて合わせると、効果的デバンキングの要件は次の通り:
- コアな事実:反論は事実を強調すべきで、誤情報を強調すべきでない。
- 直接な警告:誤情報に言及る前に、文字もしくはビジュアルで、次に各情報が間違っていることを注意喚起すべきである。
- 代わりとなる説明:デバンキングによってできた隙間を埋める必要がある。誤情報が間違っている理由についての、代わりとなる原因の説明や、さらには、そもそも誤情報の宣伝者が何故に宣伝しているのかを提示することで達成できる。
- 図:コアな事実は可能ならグラフィカルに提示すべきである。
