When all the critic reports come out and the inevitable 'mediocre' scorings appear don't be worried: this is a very good film and Ritchie is back to his best.

Snatch is a favourite of mine and I must say that this film surpasses it, in story, tone and cinematography. The twists are good, the jokes are great but what stands out are the performances. A 'star studded cast' seems to be the highlight of every movie nowadays but let me tell you, the majority of the performances in this film are oscar worthy and pure gold. I say majority of course because Jeremy Strong enlisted one of the worst acting performances I've seen this decade! It is by far a better tribute to cinema than that 'Once upon a time' nonsense and I urge you to see this film. The only drawback for me is the third act. Too many pipes are introduced late in the film which contributes to a somewhat lacklustre and crammed finale. But apart from that a solid film.

Bond doesn't drive Ford because he's a degenerate. Henry Ford II. Richie's best film since snatch. Hugh Grant gives his best performance. He is simply brilliant, funny, little camp, but deadly. Go and watch ASAP. I'm not familiar with this story. Who are the two men talking to him at the beginning? And what do they want.
The gentlemen buffy. Kobe Bryant will truly be proud of Bruce ?. I was waiting for this review after your most excited about in 2020. Snatch is the gold standard so looks like I'm checking this out. The gentlemen watch. This is quite a cleverly interwoven crime story. Hugh Grant is surprisingly good in the role of a sort of camp narrator, as he tries his hand at blackmail by regaling an unflappable Charlie Hunnam with his interpretation of the goings-on around the attempted sale of an empire of ill-gotten gains by a really under-rated Matthew McConaughey, to an even more sexually ambiguous American billionaire. It's funny, mischievous and slick. Colin Farrell doesn't feature extensively, but when he does, he is cool and entertaining. There is a surfeit of Anglo-Saxon which I felt was a touch necessary - after a while it stops being a laugh and starts irritating. At times the script is witty and well paced, but for most of the film there is too little action and much too much verbiage. A good watch, though.
