A hurried and hackneyed 'conclusion' to an aimless trilogy. When a writer downright ADMITS that there was NO planning to the overall story arch of the trilogy and that they went back to find an excuse to bring back a main villain to hype up the movie, it shows. The director JJ Abrams made the first movie, another (Ryan Johnson) made The Last Jedi, and then Disney rehired Abrams to try and backpeddle the mess from the backlash. In short, this movie crams so much course altering, fan nostalgia and missing explanations of previous films into a breakneck, frantic fan fiction quality story that doesn't convincingly earn it's ending whatsoever. The visuals are often stunning and well done as you sometimes catch a glimpse of what 'could have been, but it ultimately feels like an attempt to rectify too much too late. Unlike Luke or Anakin in George Lucas' previous films, Rey willy nilly conjures up powers and is the best ever at all she does without truly earning her stripes along the way as a very contrived fantasy rendition character of a pig tailed adolescent. Pre-established lore and coherent narrative be damned. If you turn off your brain and have no expectation, you can still see the glaring inconsistencies of this standalone installment but may be mildly entertained by a few concepts here and there. However, if you are a familiar, lifelong fan of the movie franchise, this will feel like a gut punch as you see the lack of forethought, corporate meddling and culture war politics that this once great franchise seemed to transcend under the man George Lucas. Instead of being inspiring, great, and engaging storytelling, it is nothing but a platform and a cash cow under this current regime. THIS is NOT an epic conclusion, it is a tragic, ill conceived mess that insults the foundation, integrity and creativity of George Lucas' creation.

Jedi mind tricks In a special event hosted in the game Fortnite, Disney released another clip from the upcoming film. They run into a corridor where they’re stopped by two more Stormtroopers and look to be done for.
