我命由我不由天！. It's so great to see this movie on show in NYC theaters! The story line one the best of its kind. I didn't like the look of Nezha at first glance, but I love it very much after seeing the movie. The story is very touching and completed. Love it and strongly recommended.
Finally a Chinese film that I actually enjoyed watching. (I've already posted my review on IMDb, and I'd like to share my in-theater experience of Nezha on this site as well, if that is allowed by the policy. ) After months of rolling my eyes at the social media buzz about this supposedly "great Chinese animation", I finally found the one Regal theater in town that actually shows this Chinese-made movie. And oh boy, I'm so glad I did. Initially, I was so turned off by this movie's trailer, since it had all the worst stereotypes of a Chinese-made films, with all the cheesy expositions, cringey dialogues, and awkward read more.

Tianzun dispatches his disciples Taiyi Zhenren, a portly Taoist immortal riding on a flying pig steed, and Shen Gongbao to subdue the sentient pearl. Due to its ability to absorb energy, Taiyi and Shen are unable to gain the upper hand. Eventually Yuanshi Tianzun contains the Chaos Pearl in his heavenly stove, separating the pearl into two opposite components: the Spirit Pearl and the Demon Orb. Tianzun places a heavenly curse upon the Demon Orb: in three years time it will be destroyed by a powerful lightning strike.
