The way she opened that window at the end is a complete MOOD. Emma and jenny. Amberlain. Little Women is my favorite book and I loved the 90s film version very much. I want to get excited about this film, but the trailer doesn't move me the way the book or the first film does. Maybe the film delivers more than this trailer. For now, I'm not getting a good feeling about this version of my favorite book. One of the most beautiful things about the Little Women story is the bond among the sisters and the journey they all take to defining themselves as women in that world. I get that this is being told from Joe's perspective but this feels like a Becoming Jane kind of film where it's all about Joe and her fight against female stereotypes and expectations of that time. It is a theme in the book, yes, but I don't remember it feeling so serious and combative like it does in here.
