8,2 of 10 / year: 1995 / Audience Score: 254197 vote / Drama / Country: USA / writer: Jim Lovell, Al Reinert. Apollo 13 in real time. Apollo 13 strain. Apollo 13 launch. Apollo 13 ending. How good is this movie? The first time I saw it, I was at the edge of my seat when they make the final descent through the atmosphere, since I was scared shitless that maybe history would change and they would be killed after all.
Apollo 135. Apollo 13 disaster. Apollo 13 deaths. Apollo 13 online cz. Apollo 13 views of the moon in 4k. Apollo 13 commander. Was watching this movie today and was struck by how just "tight" this film feels. It's incredible the atmosphere and stress they build during the movie considering you know the outcome. There are some things that really stand out to me about this movie... No wasted time on screen - every scene works with the next and the movie just flows from one problem to the next. There never feels like there is a wasted moment or something that is unneccesary. Building drama out of something that could have been potentially boring - I've watched other space movies that are trying to be realistic that get bogged down in techno babble. Ron Howard is somehow able to make drama from every technical problem that if you kind of explain in person kind of sounds like it wouldn't fly on screen "their CO2 scrubbers weren't working" and "They might run out of battery power in 15 hours! " its just amazing how you feel like you're in the capsule with these guys and it feels like you can understand all these complicated space travel concepts. The acting - Everyone in this movie is perfectly casted. Can you think of one person in this movie where you're like "this is a stretch. " Tom Hanks is at his peak, Gary Sinise is golden, Kevin Bacon is... well Kevin Bacon and Ed Harris must have like stole Gene Kranz's soul because he nails it. It's real - there were a few imbellished scenes but one you learn what was imbellished (more cursing and tension between the crew to convery the stress of the situation), you're like "okay, I like that decision" as opposed to Remember the Titans which is loaded with fabrications. The effects - Again, everything in this movie is about as practical as possible and the CGI scenes are used perfectly to move the film along not get in the way of it. The music - hands down some of the most inspiring stuff for a film. When they spashdown, you want to leap out of your seat with excitment. It's incredible. It still gives me chills. And that's my final point. I think I've seen this film hundreds of times and it doesn't get old which is weird because it's a film that plays of stress and suspense of a situation. The final ending of Apollo 13 is the biggest feeling of elation I've ever felt in a movie which is crazy becuase you know what's going to happen anyways. I can't think of anything that's wrong with this movie. I'm not going to say it's the best movie ever but just watching the film I can't think of a single thing I would do differently or change.
Apollo 13 views of the moon. Apollo 13 mission. Honeysuckle? WHY WAS THIS NOT IN THE MOVIE.
Missing the voice of Jack Swigert in all of this. Apollo 13 cast. Apollo 13 pictures. This looks like a road trip comparing to the scene of Apollo 11 in First Man. Apollo 13 ans. Apollo 13 lem. Apollo 13 csfd. Apollo 13 transcripts. Apollo 130. Apollo 137. Apollo 13 quotes. Apollo 13 movie. I was referencing this movie when I saw first man I love both movies. Apollo 17. This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast level 1 That's because you have to see the previous 12 films in the series to understand it. level 2 A joke, but pretty much true thanks to the likes of the MCU. My non-comic fan friend: "So, do I need to see anything before I try watching this... Endgame(? ) movie coming out? " (Me, looking back at 18 movies made since 2008) level 2 Watch the first, warning it’s rough, but then you can really skip 2&3. The series really got going at 8. 10 is almost amazing but it really pays off in 11. It’s a real shame they cancelled after 17 right when things were getting interesting. level 2 This also applies to Anal Butt Sluts 10. level 2 Is that why Zero Dark Thirty was so confusing? level 2 Though it is tv series, I shudder to think of Beverly Hills 90210 level 1 For a second I thought he had a good point and then I remembered that the movie I was picturing in my head was Armageddon. Now I realize that person is a bigger moron than even I am level 2 I also was like hey, they DID die in the end! Bruce Willis sacrificed himself. Now i am also the fool. level 2 I haven't seen it, care to tell? level 1 I can't imagine the frustration of a great director like Ron having to deal with pleasing morons. level 2 I haven't verified if he actually said it, but supposedly there's a quote from Mark Twain that goes like: Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t I don't know if it's fair to call those people "morons"; that seems overly harsh to me. I suppose it's dumb that they didn't know what happened in real life, but the story of Apollo 13 does seem a bit crazy, a bit too-good-to-be-true. That's what makes it such an incredible story. level 2 How would you like to be a politician who always has to keep his moronic base happy....... especially if most of your base thinks "science" is a conspiracy against them. level 2 that is where Michael Bay fits in. It's his job to please the morons, and he does a fantastic job. level 2 I would have considered those morons annoying, not pleasing at all.

Apollo 13 juin. OOOOOH! MOON-light Sonata! I finally get it (45 minutes in. Ok. I showed my wife, my parents, and friends this last month that it changed to "Houston we've had a problem. " Now, it has flipped back to "Houston we have a problem. " For me, I've been intrigued by the Mandela Effect since I first heard about it. But witnessing it, and having others around me see this unfold... I don't know what to think anymore. What does it all mean? I don't even care if I can't prove it. The memory issue doesn't play a part here. It literally happened a month or less ago. And our minds are blown. What do you all think is really going on here?
Balls of steel. Apollo 13 has to be one of my favorite movies. There's never a moment when I lose interest, except maybe for the scene where the Lovells are drunk in their backyard. Other than that, the movie was exceptionally thrilling. And best of all, most of it's true. Good research, fellas.
It makes you feel so good about America too. Hundreds of determined men refused to lose thier comrades in the last frontier, and they brought them home. Meanwhile, the Russians lost quite a few in space.
The soundtrack is excellent, with such patriotic music played at the right times during the movie. I never get bored listening to it. Photography and camera work gets two big thumbs up as well, and to see Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, and Tom Hanks float made the movie much more credible. I watch this film every six months, and everyone else should see it at least once. Kevin.

Astronauts Lovell, Haise and Swigert were scheduled to fly Apollo 14, but are moved up to 13. It's 1970, and The US has already achieved their lunar landing goal, so there's little interest in this "routine" flight.. until that is, things go very wrong, and prospects of a safe return fade. Imagine how awkward it would be if someone actually said: No go. The thermostat in the O2 tank fused together because it was an old style 28 volt model when it should have been upgraded to 65 volts. I also recall something about the tank being damaged when it was installed and then removed from a different rocket prior to being used. They over simplified the problem.
