I can't remember when was the last time I sit in the dark and watch a documentary with watering eyes.

The touching music, the uncut long analog video shots, and the classic tragic hero narrative, you can easily sense strong emotions from the filmmakers, who were supposed to be objective, distant. But who can blame them if they didn't fully control their personal feelings in such a story? In many ways, it feels almost like an elegy of the romanticism of the Silicon Valley and startup culture in 1980-1990s, where people used to work from a garage with an enormous passion for a vision of changing the world, rather than nowadays many companies are doing not B2B, not B2C but B2VC business. The General Magic was a group of the most brilliant kids playing their incredible imagination, they were just too ahead of everyone else. Whether if you have witnessed the great tech inventions in 1990s-2000s, or if you are a fan of the tech field or not, this is still a great film to watch, to see how our modern lifestyle was paved by these people in the film.

Retro Hour Highlight of my Friday ?. I did enquire at the general Magic team, but they were unaware of the beach as an optional interface, so suggested this was an internal Sony development. Honesty... thats the coolest os ive ever seen. Can it run crysis. I also learnt about General Magic from LGR's video. But I also found more info from TWIT's triangulation podcasts with BIll Atkinson (yes that Bill Atkinson) plus there was a great podcast by Recode Decode on the General Magic documentary and it;s just such a great intro on the work they did. As someone who has spent the past 4 years in Silicon Valley, this was revelatory.

A narrative and a sense of honesty permeate this documentary. I liked that they weren't afraid to really dig in with the material and the people. I was an intern working on the iPhone 5 back in 2010, and I had no idea this company existed. But more than a specific story about the Valley, it has a lot to share with those outside technology as well. It's about personal relationships, resilience, and searching after our dreams when it's hard. Thank you to the filmmakers and magicians who participated in this. I can't thank you enough.

Superb documentary about an unforgettable impressario. Imagine you misplaced a file and you have to search everywhere to find it. ? Boss:Where's the TPS report Jim? Jim:It's somewhere on my device, wait found it. It was in the table in the clock room. Boss.

Is the audio and video out of sync. Documentary on people who were way ahead of their time. I find these General Magic devices fascinating! I also grew up in SF in the 90's but I don't remember them at all. Only found out about them from LGR's video. Is AkBKukU also a Lincoln Town Car / Panther platform fan.

I think it uses the same battery pack than my old Canon XL1S, these things last for ever. Great interview with these two icons, thank you. Was this more successful than Apple Newton? looks very much like it too although Newton is much more beautiful.
