The Body Filmfare's rating 2. 0/5 avg. users' rating 4. 3/5 Rate Movie Cast: Rishi Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vedika Kumar Direction: Jeethu Joseph Genre: Crime, Thriller Duration: 1 hours 50 minutes The Body Movie Review Filmfare critic's rating: Chaos in Mystery The Body is a remake of the Spanish film El Cuerpo that has already been remade three times now and seeing this Hindi rendition, we are left wondering why. With a narrative involving a murder and a missing body, it could have been turned into a cracking thriller but there is nothing thrilling about the film. Directed by Jeeshu Joseph who has delivered the iconic Malayalam thriller Drishyam with Mohanlal, this is going to leave you a tad bit disappointed. Ajay (Emraan Hashmi) is married to a successful businesswoman Maya (Sobhita Dhulipala) who supposedly passes away because of a heart attack within the first two minutes of the film. A seemingly heartbroken Ajay is seen bemoaning his wife’s death in a flashback song. We are also introduced to Maya’s obnoxious sense of humour with which she constantly targets Ajay. He's having an extra-marital affair with Ritu (Vedika Kumar). He gets a phone call that Maya’s body is missing from the morgue. Soon after, he confesses that he has poisoned her. The mystery of who killed Maya is solved within ten minutes. The film then moves to the dingy hospital where the investigation of the missing body is taking place. The Superintendent of Police (Rishi Kapoor) takes this case personally as he is suffering from PTSD from his wife’s death that happened ten years ago. He is constantly dropping hints of how his wife Nancy was killed and did not die in a car accident. This starts the paranormal phase of the film where Ajay sees Maya roaming in the corridors of the hospital and gets convinced that she is haunting him. However, it's so haphazardly put together that you lose all interest in the proceedings and are wishing for the trauma to get over. Emraan Hashmi isn’t all that bad but this surely is not one of his best outings. He delivers in some scenes but looks as much dazed and confused as the viewer in the rest of the film. Watching Rishi Kapoor, you get the feeling he has walked in on the wrong set but being the professional that he is, has stuck around to finish the job. But even his screen presence and charm isn't enough to salvage the film. Sobhita Dhulipala does a great job with whatever she had in hand. Playing a borderline psycho, she kind of annoys you and you can understand why her husband was frustrated with her. She's shown to be a stone cold manipulator and you buy it. Vedika Kumar looks pretty and she does whatever she could with the ill-written material she was provided with. What could have been a short film for a digital platform has unnecessarily been stretched as a feature. Weak writing, flawed editing and a disinterested cast doesn't help its prospects... Watch the body 2019 full movie. STORY: When hotshot businesswoman Maya Varma's (Sobhita Dhulipala) body goes missing from the morgue under mysterious circumstances, SP Jairaj Rawal (Rishi Kapoor) takes it upon himself to get to the bottom of the truth. And, once he questions her husband Ajay Puri (Emraan Hashmi), it becomes evident that he is more than just a bereaved widower. REVIEW: Maya is born with a silver spoon and has everything going for her ? smart, successful and gorgeous. And, for someone who works as a professor with a meagre income, Ajay sure strikes gold when the duo decides to tie the knot. But, when the entrepreneur ends up dead and her body goes missing from the morgue, the truth behind their marriage and everything around it starts to unfold. The storyline of 'The Body' does not bring anything new to the table as far as the thriller genre is concerned. Also, since it is confined within the walls of a mortuary and spans over a period of eight hours, this murder mystery tends to lose its grip over the audience early on. Despite the decent background score ? an absolute must for a thriller to work ? the film fails to keep you on the edge, and ends up being yet another run-of-the-mill, half-baked attempt at concocting a story revolving around love, death and betrayal. Rishi Kapoor, as the stubble-sporting cop with a devil-may-care attitude, is quite convincing as a character with a troubled past trying to get to the bottom of this distorted love story. Emraan Hashmi, as a romantic partner with questionable morals, exudes charm in parts and evokes pity (as and when needed). Sobhita Dhulipala, as a rich-yet-lonely millionaire, with a twisted psyche exhibiting cold-hearted behaviour, is not so convincing in the sense that she ends up being too good to be bad. Debutante Vedhika Kumar, as the naive and gullible partner in crime, has a good screen presence but feels like a misfit, especially in the second half. Just like all other Emraan Hashmi films, the music of this movie ? mostly love ballads ? does not disappoint and the catchy numbers are soothing to the ears. In a nutshell, 'The Body' is low on content and high on glamour. There is not much to unravel in this one.

The body watch full show. Kon kon emran ka trailer dekh ke yaha aaya hai. Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to this week's Thursday special edition of For Your Consideration, the weekly series where we talk albums that aren't on our Essentials chart, and maybe why they should be. For this week, /u/tedwerdthebird is reexamining the Strokes' polarizing third LP, First Impressions of Earth. Artist - The Strokes Album - First Impressions of Earth Listen YouTube Spotify Apple Music Background by /u/tedwerdthebird In the summer of 2001, New York garage-rockers The Strokes dropped The Modern Age EP, sparking a bidding war among labels, eventually signing with RCA for a 5 album deal. Several months later, lead by enigmatic singer Julian Casablancas, The Strokes released the decade defining Is This It to overwhelming critical acclaim. The band would become regarded as messiahs immediately upon their arrival. They were hailed by NME as the “saviours of rock n’ roll. ” It was a perfect moment for the quintet, who were propelled to instant fame by their particular brand of Velvet Underground type melodic rock. Elvis Costello once said, “you have a lifetime to write your first album, and a year to write your second. ” While Is This It developed over four years, The Strokes began writing their second record, Room on Fire, while on the road. Room on Fire came out just over two years after Is This It, chock full of more crunchy guitar riffs laid over Julian’s lackadaisical attitude, but with less of the same praise from before. Critics noted that Room on Fire was not enough of a stylistic leap for the band; it felt too safe. First Impressions of Earth, The Strokes’ third release in their five album deal, was a make or break moment for the band - many rock bands that had formed after them (Kings of Leon, The Killers) were now getting to be much bigger than themselves. This album would be the key to help the band regain their footing among their contemporaries. In a sense, First Impressions of Earth needed to be the band’s Kid A moment. The Strokes badly needed a reinvention to prove themselves as more worthy than just a passing trend. The band knew it too; drummer Fab Moretti was quoted as saying the album represented “our chance to be born again. ” While the album was not the rebirth that the band hoped for, as it only lead into the band’s breakup the following year, it still succeeded in expanding upon the DNA of its predecessors through a wider and often darker array of sonic influences and textures. Album Review by /u/tedwerdthebird While the band’s renewed sense of ambition was responsible for the many highpoints found on the album (“You Only Live Once”, “Heart in a Cage”, “Razorblade”, “Electricityscape”, “Ize of the World”), it was also partially responsible for the album’s biggest fault: a bloated tracklist that drags on for longer than it should. (The album nears 60 minutes in length while past Strokes’ albums never touched 40). For the opening four tracks, The Strokes are firing on all cylinders. Opener ‘You Only Live Once’ is an excellent piece of catchy Blondie-esque pop rock (think “Union City Blue”). Following up an iconic Strokes track is perhaps the most divisive song in their catalogue, “Juicebox. ” The song begins with a loud gritty bassline and howly vocal performance that some found too grating at the time of its release, but others have since come to bass riff eventually tones down and the song finds a fast, tight groove with darkly beautiful building vocals by Julian. “Heart in a Cage” is another thumping, heavy Strokes anthem, following Julian’s spirit across cities and countrysides as he refuses to be held down, and putting his dynamic songwriting chops on full display. (At this point in The Strokes history, Julian was still doing most of the band’s writing). “Razorblade” is a galloping syrupy ballad, featuring Julian crooning about love gone wrong. The chorus melody may be lifted from a hit Barry Manilow jam, but still works well with the new set of crunchy strings Julian brings. “On the Other Side” shifts moods rapidly; Julian turns sour while his emotions run wild at the end of a long night at the bar. The guitar chugs along with a certain heavy laziness as Julian nihilistically denounces his peers and own life as he looks his own death in the eyes. “Vision of Division” takes Julian’s sour outlook on romance to the heaviest they ever get on the album, as Julian’s screams explode over heavy riffs. The song feels like Voidz-lite, the hardcore-esque noisey side band that Julian would start a decade after this album. “Ask Me Anything” finds Julian hypnotically retreating back into his head as guitarist Nick Valensi starts plunking out a hazy mellotron beat while Julian laments his place in the spotlight, claiming he has “nothing to say. ” Rounding out the first eight tracks, “Electricityscape” is the new-wave heart of the album, an excellent track both sonically and lyrically. Julian faces his city and owns up to past sins (plagiarism specifically). Past “Electricityscape” is where many critics hit on the album as ‘bloated, ’ and to a degree, rightfully so. The next two tracks, “Killing Lies, ” and “Fear of Sleep” both seem underdeveloped; the guitars feel too same-y as Julian’s abstract hodge-podge lyrics never seem to take the listener anywhere other than another crescendoing repeated chorus that lacks coherent thematic value. “15 Minutes” finesses a dreamy atmosphere as Julian looks back wistfully at his band’s time in the limelight. Julian recognizes that while it may be over, he can still find joy and peace within himself without the same attention. Looking back now, I feel the song should be the album’s real closer, in relation to the band’s future trajectory, as they would never hit the same level of fame that Is This It brought. “Ize in the World, ” is a thematic beast of a song, and arguably more developed lyrically and sonicaly than any other in the Strokes catalogue til that point. Julian picks apart images of modern society and critiques the status quo, all while propelled by a heavy and entrancing Strokesian riff. The song also marks the beginning of Julian’s transition into bringing politics within his songwriting, something that has seemed to occupy a lot of his time in recent years. The mood slows down for the next track, “Evening Sun, ” a slower wistful piece that evokes “Dazed and Confused” type just out of high-school wonder and anxiety. “Red Light” finesses interlocking guitars into a peppier jammier finale about love and growing up. Favorite Lyrics by /u/tedwerdthebird I'm tired of being so judgmental of everyone I will not go to sleep, I will train my eyes to see That my mind is as blind as a branch on a tree On the Other Side Well, I swear I'll give it back tomorrow But for now I think that I'll just borrow All the chords from that song And all the words from that other song I heard yesterday Electriccityscape Yes, it was all just a dream, oh no Was it real? I don't know, I hope so 15 Minutes To see such our power in our hands all wasted on greed? Am I a prisoner to instincts or do my thoughts just live As free and detached as boats to the dock? Just like the music was born and detached from your heart Is your free time to free minds or for falling apart? Ize of the World Talking Points Of the album’s shortcomings, what do you have the biggest problem with, amongst it’s heaviness, length, and lack of coherency at times? Should The Strokes have been bigger? If you listened to the album in ‘06 when it was released, how did it strike you then, and has your opinion changed? Amongst Julian’s odd lyrical style/tendencies, what are your favorite songs/lyrics? Thanks again to /u/tedwerdthebird for the solid writeup! Next week, I'll be talking about the Thermals' The Body, the Blood, the Machine, so stay tuned for that. If you'd like to write for FYC, send me a PM with the artist, album, and maybe a bit about why you want to write about it. When you do, you'll be added to the schedule in the comments below. Thanks again!
