OMG. It looks so interesting, Plus, Mick Jagger and. Claes Bang. in. one movie. I'M DEFINITELY IN. Obraz po c5 bc c4 85dania battery. The trailer is finally out for the neo-noir film? The Burnt Orange Heresy, which stars Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger as a wealthy and conniving art dealer named Joseph Cassidy. Directed by Italian filmmaker?Giuseppe Capotondi, the movie also features?Claes Bang as swindling art critic James Figueras and Elizabeth Debicki as his weekend fling, Berenice Hollis. “What is this about? ” asks the washed-up Milan art critic at one point, referring to an impromptu invitation to the sprawling Lake Como home of Cassidy. “Redemption, embezzlement, and forgery, ” Cassidy responds with a smile. Jagger, with his slicked-back hair and crisp white suit, seems at ease in the role, which is his first major acting gig since his similarly dapper 2001 turn as an escort-agency boss in? The Man from Elysian Fields. The duplicitous Cassidy has a deal to offer the power-hungry Figueras: Hell give the critic access to interview the legendarily reclusive artist Jerome Debney (played by Donald Sutherland) and jump-start his flagging career; in return, Figueras has to “procure” a painting by Debney for Cassidy. Debney happens to live on the edge of Cassidys property in a creepy little house but there is a bit of a problem: Debney keeps his work under lock and key and no one has seen anything from him in five decades. The film starts to take dramatic twists and turns of a dark thriller as ambitious characters each emerge with their own secret motives. The movies release comes amid a spike in art-world thrillers in recent years. This past fall, The Goldfinch, about a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art,?hit theaters, while the satirical thriller Velvet Buzzsaw debuted just a few months earlie r. And the film? Red Notice, which?stars Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson?in an Interpol?art heist caper, is in the works for 2021. Although Jagger may look the part of a shady art dealer, he said in a recent interview that theres very little of himself in the character. “Im not really a collector. I throw things away, ” Jagger said during the films premiere in Venice in September, according to Rolling Stone. “I buy things and then lose them. Im a completely hopeless collector. Im the complete opposite. ” The film premieres in New York and Los Angeles on March 6. See the trailer, released on January 24, below. Most amusing - how the glitterati live

Hired to steal a rare painting from one of most enigmatic painters of all time, an ambitious art dealer becomes consumed by his own greed and insecurity as the operation spins out of control. Director: Giuseppe Capotondi Writers: Scott B. Smith, Charles Willeford (novel) Stars: Claes Bang, Elizabeth Debicki, Donald Sutherland, Mick Jagger REVIEW From the very beginning, its difficult to get a read on James Figueras (Claes Bang) and Berenice Hollis (Elizabeth Debicki. Assured and knowledgeable, James delivers a slick and measured art lecture ? with explanations of brushstrokes and hues that tie to a remarkable history lesson ? but in the process, he twists the room of engaged, wide-eyed listeners into knots, but in a most gratifying way. James orchestrates a magic trick of sorts…and then reveals his secrets. If this magician ? wrapped in art critic/dealer clothing ? figuratively escapes from a straitjacket while trapped in a water tank today, these fascinated patrons would drop serious coin to watch him saw a lady in half next week. Apparently, James is particularly skilled at delivering surprises, or from another perspective, maybe hes comfortable swimming in pools of deceit. Berenice wanders into his classroom, and through an initial physical attraction, a fascination with the art world or perhaps a long ago-decided calculation, she willingly wishes to be his trusty assistant, one on equal footing. This eye-catching pair ? who could double as Prince Charming and Cinderella ? might look like royalty, but they ? individually ? carry grifter-vibes which invite trouble. In director Giuseppe Capotondis highly-engaging noir thriller, James and Berenice step into jaw-dropping opulence in the form of a massive villa at Lake Como, Italy. Here, art collector Joseph Cassidy (Mick Jagger) presents James with an offer that he cannot refuse, and it involves a character ? who will not be described in this review ? played by Donald Sutherland. In a case of the immovable object versus the irresistible force, James has to fight an uphill battle while Berenice ? who somewhat sits on the sidelines ? may or may not be sharpening her own sword. Writer Scott B. Smith introduces several prickly points and warm creature comforts that lay the groundwork for mixed emotions. Rather than stretch the material into 150 minutes, Capotondi keeps the picture at 99. The film delivers flurries of strikes within a shorter-than-expected window, so the pain pierces deeper, not because of long periods of exposition that allow the audience to bond with the leads, but just the opposite. James and Berenice do not truly know one another that well. We dont either, and hence, as the events unfold, we need to play catch-up, and like James opening scene, the film offers surprises. What might be a terrific surprise is how accomplished Jagger is on the silver screen. The Rolling Stones frontman is certainly not shy of a big stage, and he dazzles here as Cassidy, a smooth aristocrat (in the monetary sense) who seems to have all the answers. In 1982, director Werner Herzog said of Jagger, “(Hes) not a good actor, that would be wrong to say. Hes a sensation, and no one has realized that. What a performer…just incredible. ” Herzogs words ring true, as Jaggers Cassidy intimidates by conveying unwelcome personal truths with a soothing suave grace and smiling eyes, that will instantly trigger an immediate desire to retreat. Cassidy and Debney (Sutherland) reveal more to the audience in a few minutes than James and Berenice would divulge over a month of Sundays. This, however, is all by Capotondis and Smiths chosen design, and Bang, Debicki, Sutherland, and Jagger hold on tight to the movie screens four corners, because “The Burnt Orange Heresy” gets a little crazy which ? like art ? leaves a lasting impression. ? Giuseppe Capotondi, Phoenix Film Fest.

Donald Sutherland Actor The towering presence of Canadian actor Donald Sutherland is often noticed, as are his legendary contributions to cinema. He has appeared in almost 200 different shows and films. He is also the father of renowned actor Kiefer Sutherland, among others. Donald McNichol Sutherland was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Dorothy Isobel (McNichol) and Frederick McLea Sutherland, who worked in sales and electricity. He has Scottish, as well as German and English, ancestry. Sutherland worked several different jobs - he was a radio DJ in his youth - and was almost set on becoming an engineer after graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in engineering. However, he also graduated with a degree in drama, and he chose to abandon becoming an engineer in favour of an actor. Sutherland's first roles were bit parts and consisted of such films as the horror film Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) which starred Christopher Lee. He was also appearing in episodes of TV shows such as "The Saint" and "Court Martial. Sutherland's break would come soon, though, and it would come in the form of a war film in which he was barely cast. The reason he was barely cast was because he had been a last-minute replacement for an actor that had dropped out of the film. The role he played was that of the dopey but loyal Vernon Pinkley in the war film The Dirty Dozen (1967. The film also starred Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, and Telly Savalas. The picture was an instant success as an action/war film, and Sutherland played upon this success by taking another role in a war film: this was, however, a comedy called MASH (1970) which landed Sutherland the starring role alongside Elliott Gould and Tom Skerritt. This is now considered a classic among film goers, and the 35-year old actor was only getting warmed up. Sutherland took a number of other roles in between these two films, such as the theatrical adaptation Oedipus the King (1968) the musical Joanna (1968) and the Clint Eastwood-helmed war comedy Kelly's Heroes (1970. It was Kelly's Heroes (1970) that became more well-known, and it reunited Sutherland with Telly Savalas. 1970 and 1971 offered Sutherland a number of other films, the best of them would have to be Klute (1971. The film, which made Jane Fonda a star, is about a prostitute whose friend is mysteriously murdered. Sutherland received no critical acclaim like his co-star Fonda (she won an Oscar) but his career did not fade. Moving on from Klute (1971) Sutherland landed roles such as the lead in the thriller Lady Ice (1973) and another lead in the western Alien Thunder (1974. These films did not match up to "Klute" s success, though Sutherland took a supporting role that would become one of his most infamous and most critically acclaimed. He played the role of the murderous fascist leader in the Bernardo Bertolucci Italian epic 1900 (1976. Sutherland also gained another memorable role as a marijuana-smoking university professor in National Lampoon's Animal House (1978) among other work that he did in this time. Another classic role came in the form of the Robert Redford film, Ordinary People (1980. Sutherland portrays an older father figure who must deal with his children in an emotional drama of a film. It won Best Picture, and while both the supporting stars were nominated for Oscars, Sutherland once again did not receive any Academy Award nomination. He moved on to play a Nazi spy in a film based on Ken Follett's book "Eye of the Needle" and he would star alongside Al Pacino in the commercial and critical disaster that was Revolution (1985. While it drove Al Pacino out of films for four years, Sutherland continued to find work. This work led to the dramatic, well-told story of apartheid A Dry White Season (1989) alongside the legendary actor Marlon Brando. Sutherland's next big success came in the Oliver Stone film JFK (1991) where Sutherland plays the chilling role of Mister X, an anonymous source who gives crucial information about the politics surrounding President Kennedy. Once again, he was passed over at the Oscars, though Tommy Lee Jones was nominated for his performance as Clay Shaw. Sutherland went on to appear in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) Shadow of the Wolf (1992) and Disclosure (1994. The new millennium provided an interesting turn in Sutherland's career: reuniting with such former collaborators as Clint Eastwood and Tommy Lee Jones, Sutherland starred in Space Cowboys (2000. He also appeared as the father figure to Nicole Kidman's character in Cold Mountain (2003) and Charlize Theron's character in The Italian Job (2003. He has also made a fascinating, Oscar-worthy performance as the revolutionist Mr. Thorne in Land of the Blind (2006) and also as a judge in Reign Over Me (2007. Recently, he has joined forces with his son Rossif Sutherland and Canadian comic Russell Peters with the new comedy The Con Artist (2010) as well as acting alongside Jamie Bell and Channing Tatum in the sword-and-sandal film The Eagle (2011. Sutherland has also taken a role in the remake of Charles Bronson's film The Mechanic (1972. Donald Sutherland has made a lasting legacy on Hollywood, whether portraying a chilling and horrifying villain, or playing the older respectable character in his films. A true character actor, Sutherland is one of Canada's most well-known names and will hopefully continue on being so long after his time. More.

Here it is may 31 2019 and both still shaking it. Damn. Shows about affairs? Sounds boring to a men. Arguing is something I try to ignore. Claus bang is a good actor tho just got done watching Dracula. An art critic becomes embroiled in a plot to steal a painting from a celebrated reclusive artist Dir: Giuseppe Capotondi. UK-Italy. 2019. 98mins Two tasty extended cameos from Mick Jagger and Donald Sutherland?pour sauce on an undercooked art world neo-noir in Italian director Giuseppe Capotondis second feature (after 2009s The Double Hour) and first English-language project. Drawing parallels between the stories experts tell about artworks and the stories people tell about themselves, and taking a jaded view of the power of critics to make or break artistic reputations and influence the market, The Burnt Orange Heresy packs in more themes than Banksy does spraycans. Its as a thriller that it falls down: for all the commitment that Claes Bang and Elizabeth Debicki bring to the central roles, their characters never really emerge as autonomous beings from the faintly preposterous story theyre trapped in. Clearly meant to be an intense chamber thriller, but instead feels simply thin This is the third drama in two years, after Ruben Ostlunds The Square and Dan Gilroys Netflix-funded Velvet Buzzsaw, to combine a satirical view of the art world with darker genre elements. The Burnt Orange Heresy is easily the tamest of the trio, with neither the moral complexity and unpredictability of The Square nor Velvet Buzzsaw s glee in its own schlocky horror spiral. Its Italian setting, those Jagger and Sutherland turns and a decent technical package may give the film some traction as a classy date movie option, but it will need further critical support to find its way into multiple territories. Bang, who also headlined The Square as a conflicted museum curator, here plays James Figueras, an art critic whose first appearance ? giving a paid talk to a group of Americans in an ornate Milanese palazzo ? establishes his slippery, Machiavellian persona. Showing his audience an abstract painting, he first elevates it from daub to masterpiece by spinning an elaborate yarn about the artist who created it, then deflates it once more by revealing the story as a pack of lies, and the painting as his own hasty creation. At the back of the room, Berenice (Debicki) a willowy American abroad, lingers at the end of the lecture with some questions for the cocky critic ? and before we know it theyre having hot sex in Figueras modernist Milan apartment. Both partners turn that holiday-romance doubt into a teasing game with an erotic frisson. The pill-popping Figueras soon invites his new girlfriend to join him for a weekend at the Lake Como villa of Mick Jaggers wealthy art collector Joseph Cassidy; a wary, wily soul who turns out to know a thing or two about some murky episodes in Figueras past, and is skeptical about Berenices claim to be just a little provincial girl from Duluth, Minnesota. Larging it in his posh Como gaff with its Rothkos and Manzonis, with a Cockney drawl that duets with Bangs own slightly odd Scandi-Shoreditch twang, Jagger clearly enjoys his brief screen time, and, for all that he over-eggs his character, so do we. Its not long before were gifted another full-throttled thespian performance, in the shape of Donald Sutherlands reclusive artist Jerome Debney, who is living in an outhouse on this lakeside estate, and expresses himself in an elaborate rhetorical style larded with phrases like “If I tarry much longer…”. A legend in the art world ? partly because of the scarcity of his output ? hes never given an interview. Cassidy promises Figueras exclusive access to Debney, in return for his help in securing the collector a new work by the artist, by any means necessary. There are only a handful of lines not spoken by these four protagonists in what is clearly meant to be an intense chamber thriller, but instead feels simply thin. The film seems worried about going too far into noir territory, and though the ambitious streak in Figueras darkens gradually into menace, the growing disdain with which he treats Berenice never feels particularly threatening ? partly because the script backs itself into a corner by making her too smart to stay with a complete bastard. Mostly shot at night, Milan is a place of airless boxes, while Lake Como is portrayed in autumnal mood, an often dank place with gloomy inlets where flies ? a major thematic riff that becomes tiresome well before the end ? breed in the lakeside mud. In a way, this story could have been set anywhere, anytime in the last 20 or 30 years; unlike Nocturnal Animals, say, or the previously mentioned films by Ostlund and Gilroy, its not particularly in touch with the current art world zeitgeist, and namechecks are reduced to a few obvious media outlets like Flash Art. This lack of real interest in the field that inspires the plot is brought home in The Burnt Orange Heresy s lack of any real critical discourse about art over and above market value, in the tiny glimpses were afforded of Cassidys supposedly world-class collection, and in a perplexing final scene involving a drawing by Debney that is just plain bad. Admittedly, if the story was stronger, these details wouldnt matter half as much. I love Mick his relaxt spirit ??. Cant wait. 12 October 2019, haldunarmagan Compelling elements of Hitchcock-style cinema are interwoven with philosophical characteristics such as meaning of art and dark side of human soul in Giuseppe Capotondi's "The Burnt Orange Heresy" performed by an ensemble cast. This adaptation of Charles Willeford's 1971 novel carries the story to present and moves it from Florida to Lake Como, Italy. Under Capotondi's direction of the refreshed script everything works beautifully both in artistic and philosophical levels. The thin line between art world and underworld, questioning of art criticism, and "reading" of an art piece in terms of acquired notion and illusion are some of the intriguing points the movie provokes. James Figueras, an art critic willing to do literally anything to keep his fame and wealth (played by Danish actor Claes Bang) and American adventurer Berenice Hollis (Elizabeth Debicki) convey one of the most memorable performances and shine in the best screen chemistry I've seen in recent years. The other highlight is definitely Donald Sutherland as reclusive painter Jerome Debney who lives under care of an ambitious art collector Joseph Cassidy, a surprise cameo by Mick Jagger. The Burnt Orange Heresy offers a cinematic feast as perfectly crafted neo-noir thriller with immaculate acting. Two thumbs up, way up.
