This is a hidden gem in the area and I will definitely stay here again since we see shows in the Medford and Ashland area on a constant basis. I first picked up a camera in 1999, but I've always loved all animals, especially wild ones. Growing up in a big city, I wasn't exposed to "real" wildlife, but there were books, documentaries, and my imagination. I have always wanted to do something with wildlife, but for most of my life it seemed completely out of reach. But when I finally moved out of Chicago in my early 30's and my then girlfriend (now wife) bought me a camera, the dream was born. However, being a wildlife photographer seemed so far-fetched when I first started. The more I researched it as a career choice, the more hopeless it seemed! But I just ignored conventional wisdom. The feeling I get when I'm near a wild animal and it "lets me in" to its world is something that feeds my soul. Nothing else does that. Life is too short to "settle. ¡É Observing wild animals in wild places has changed me. Bringing glimpses of what I have seen (in the form of photographs) back to civilization is immensely satisfying, and I wake up every day knowing I'm pursuing my passion. And not only do I love what I do, my work can make a difference. My goal is to continue on my path as a wildlife photographer and writer. Ultimately, I want to be more successful financially and have a much bigger voice in wildlife conservation. The natural world is in trouble like never before, and I want to make a difference.
