The part were the kid is wacking the zombies with a golf! club I cant xD. Morons. the dog isn't even rabid, the gsd looking dog is clearly aggitated that the puppy is following it, and attacks it every time it gets close. 0:56 Imagine a colorful kiddie background with the cat running like that. Insectvasion of the Buggy Snatchers? I am just joining in. So glad I got to see this at a film festival. I'm a huge fan of the Soska sisters work and I knew this film was going to be a hit with me. I can personally say I wasn't much if a fan of the original 70s version. This remake though, was completely sick and twisted, I loved it! Some of the grisly scenes were pretty realistic as well. Definitely one I'll buy when it comes out on DVD and blu ray. Congrats to all involved.
I apologize for commenting so much, so I'll try to limit it to this last comment. I've been active on YouTube since 2015 & I have never had a single issue or cross word with a creator. That is until my being gas-lighted by Jewels of Thought. And even then I wound up drifting away Quietly, feeling bullied & treated as an outcast. I have even housed in my home 3 different sets of YouTube creators at various times. Here is the crux of why I'm struggling to let this go. Those of us who started with Jewels of Thought channel a year plus ago (November 2018) found her because of the Chris Watts case. Up until this case, I had not been a follower of True Crime. What drew me to this case was the Sly, Underhanded Manipulation Chris Watt's Mother applied to Chris & others against Shannan to discredit Shanann. I had experienced this personally from an individual in my past so when I observed it in Chris Watts Mother it was familiar to me & I appreciated the pain Shannan had dealt with & worked to overcome. And we all know how tragically it ended. I HAVE SEEN & I KNOW HOW MUCH DAMAGE SOMEONE CAN DO TO ANOTHER IF THEY'RE WILLING TO LIE ON THEM. Jewels drew us in making us believe in her & in her we believed we'd found a safe place. Then months later Jewels began making false claims against many of us & not only in vicious emails but publicly on the internet. Pretty much each time it happened to one of us, we felt hurt & some degree of shame as she spun her lie to advance herself. And why, I still to this day have not figured out her reasoning. When we tried to defend ourselves nicely, Jewels would do a follow up video & announce out loud in it, that our mere defending ourselves proved our guilt. It was all so beyond crazy, if you didn't experience yourself, you just can't comprehend it. If Jewels wanted to Not Be Seen as a Doctor of Psychology, then she'd have never stated it repeatedly in her videos & she'd have kept her profession to herself. And as Jewels would say. Right? But when you continuously state those credentials & then lie on people in a public video for how many to see? What kind of sick game are you playing? Just as Shannan dealt with, lies on people are beyond dangerous. If Jewels will tell one person to Go Kill Yourself she'll tell another. The only conclusion I've been able to draw from Jewels behavior is that she's simply a Pathological Liar. There's an expression They'd lie when the truth would have been easier. If you don't believe me, listen to her contradict herself within her videos. Then research online people who contradict themselves. There's some great Psychologist online that explain it well.

Wscieklosc macicy. Checking to see if any special Horror screenings were taking place over Halloween, I was thrilled to find that The Electric in Birmingham (oldest working cinema in the UK) were holding a special "Cine-Excess" event in November, which would feature a double bill of attending directors Jen and Sylvia Soska, and Norman J. Warren.
After a memorable awards ceremony where the film makers got glass trophies, one of which broke in two after it slipped out of one of the Soska's hands. I got set for a rabid remake. View on the film: Mentioning in the pre-screening intro that before this project had landed on their desk they had actually started looking for none-movie related jobs, due to the "gross" factor of American Mary (2012-also reviewed) putting studios (such as The CW) off from hiring them, co-writers/ with John Serge) co-directors Jen and Sylvia Soska make a welcomed return to the big screen with a blend of gory Body Horror, and the clinical body modification art of American Mary. Closely working with cinematographer Kim Derko, the Soska's brush Rose's altered face with close-ups on the excellent practical effects. Changing the setting to the fashion industry, the Soska's & Derko stylishly use glass to reflect the pristine appearance of the fashion industry being torn to ribbons by gashes of pulpy gore seeping across the screen. Touching on American Mary's theme of people trying to be comfortable in their own skin, the screenplay by the Soska's and Serge twirl the rapid hunger of Cronenberg's Body Horror with a wonderfully rich cynical line of the fashion industry, where Rose (a terrific, breezy Laura Vandervoort) finds herself forced to having to dress to impress, even when a excellent sound design by Paula Fairfield crunches on the consuming infection rapidly changing Rose.
Best thing I saw was the jimmy dean sausage commercial, halfway through the trailers. 1:45 PM PST 12/11/2019 by The Soska Sisters remake David Cronenberg's 1977 cult horror film about a young woman who develops a thirst for blood after undergoing unconventional surgery. It took no small amount of guts for Jen and Sylvia Soska to remake a David Cronenberg film, the first such effort ever attempted, even if the master horror director's 1977 Rabid isn't one of his best. The identical twin filmmakers, who are credited under the moniker "The Soska Sisters, " would seem well suited for the task, based on their distinctive oeuvre which includes such grindhouse movies as American Mary, Dead Hooker in a Trunk and See No Evil 2. Unfortunately, their reimagining of Cronenberg's film, although it has some imaginative touches, can most generously be described as an affectionate homage. In the role that marked porn star Marilyn Chambers' legit feature debut, Laura Vandervoort ( Smallville, Jigsaw) plays Rose, an aspiring fashion designer struggling to earn the respect of her boss Gunter (Mackenzie Gray, so over the top that he makes Sacha Baron Cohen's Brüno seem subtle by comparison). A wallflower bearing a small facial scar from a long-ago car accident, Rose reluctantly lets her friend Chelsea (Hanneke Talbot, Ready or Not) set up her up on a date with a fellow co-worker. After overhearing a pair of fellow partygoers (amusingly played by the Soska sisters themselves) laughingly describing her as "weird and sad, " Rose flees the premises, only to get run down by a motorcycle. The resulting horrific facial and body disfigurement is explained to her by a doctor (a goateed Stephen McHattie, appropriately creepy) who advises, "I would strongly suggest staying away from mirrors right now" and assures her that her severe intestinal damage won't be a problem. "You'll be able to live a perfectly normal life with a shortened organ, " he says, unconvincingly. Lacking medical insurance (the pic adds some mild social commentary, about both the fashion and the medical industries, into its occasionally satirical mix), Rose eagerly takes up the offer of the mysterious Dr. Burroughs (Ted Atherton) who promises to restore her looks and health with an operation involving "stem cell manipulation. " That the doctor is not quite to be trusted becomes evident by his habit of listening to recordings of his namesake, author William Burroughs, and the blood-red robes worn by him and his nurses in the operating room. Nonetheless, the operation is a success, to the degree that Rose emerges from it seemingly healthy and a stunning beauty as well. Unfortunately for her, some complications arise, notably dreamlike episodes, in which she displays extreme sexual aggressiveness and a literal bloodthirstiness, that she eventually discovers, to her horror, are real. Her victims, apparently infected with a rabies-like disease, are soon transformed into zombie-like maniacs with a taste for blood themselves. This remake follows the essential template of Cronenberg's, adding sly homages to some of his other movies as well. But although Vandervoort, who delivers an appealing, sympathetic performance, is a marked improvement over the wooden Chambers, this version falls short of the original on nearly every other level. Ploddingly paced (it runs nearly 20 minutes longer than the 1977 film, to detrimental effect), poorly scripted and featuring largely amateurish performances and cheesy special effects, this Rabid strives to emulate the striking body horror of the original but mainly comes across like a half-baked imitation. To their credit, the Soskas attempt to get ahead of such criticism, with one character asking, "Why do we keep remaking old trends? " Unfortunately for them, it turns out that being in on the joke doesn't really make it any funnier.

Relegated to the role of seamstress for a world-renowned designer, Sarah wants nothing more than to be noticed for her own designs. When she witnesses the closeness of her model roommate with Brad, the photographer she has grown close to, Sarah rushes from a party feeling angry and hurt. A resulting traffic accident leaves her with significant scars on her face and body. Based on the referral from her apologetic roommate, Sarah meets with a renowned plastic surgeon that convinces her to undergo a highly experimental healing procedure that uses stems cells to speed up and improve healing. She recovers to find herself looking as beautiful as the models she works with. Sarah finds her confidence and sexual appetite is also increased leading to several torrid sexual encounters. Unbeknownst to her, Sarah sets off a spiraling contagion, as within 24 hours her lovers become rabid, violent spreaders of death and disease. As the disease mutates, it spreads through society at an accelerated rate causing an ever-increasing number of people to rampage through the streets in a violent and bloody killing spree. The now out of control disease draws the attention of the CDC and the nefarious plastic surgeon out to find the cure. The spreading violence around them impedes them from discovering the truth.
