The Doors were born when Ray Manzarek met Jim Morrison on Venice Beach in 1965. Ray became the beating heart of The Doors and the architect of their intoxicating keyboard sound. Manzarek’s evocative playing fused rock, jazz, blues, bossa nova and an array of other styles into something utterly, dazzlingly new. The setlist from the concert consists of Doors songs performed by John and Robby alongside a cast of all-star guest musicians including Taylor Hawkins and Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters), Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Exene and John Doe (X), Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule), Brian Ray (Paul McCartney), Andrew Watt and more. If Ray never had a career in music he would have been one hell of a talk show host, or radio DJ. The guys verbal skills were phenomenal. Probably the only other guy I ever heard that was that literate was James Woods. So enjoy hearing this from a talented and yet so self-depredating person.

That's really easy on the bass guitar. Learned it from Ray just now. Jerry Scheff musta really sucked. Te quiero mucho ray manzarek eres el creador de los door yant. I can see Ray's head swirling over the organ. I love Ray, but this whole ' jim was dyonisius reincarnated' talk seems like a way to keep the mystique alive and bank on it. No way he sees Jim like that even after living with the guy. Jim´s is part myth, part legend. Ray knows that and played those cards well, imo.
