At Fort Bragg I had a buddy stationed there and every Friday night there would be a bunch of various ethnic women some of whom couldn't even speak English and they would regularly hit on and flash the soldiers who are going out for the evening. Apparently these lady's wanted to hook up and then marry these E1s because they would automatically get a temporary green card if they were a U.S. service men's wife. The laws were weird back then. But usually after marriage they would up and leave the guys they married and move across country to be with their already immigrated families. My friend would call them green diggers. Also my cousin one time screwed and had a baby with this dude who would supply her with pretty hard drugs like crack and ecstasy. And he was doing all this while his wife was serving in Iraq. He was pretty open about it and he would regularly get a check from the Army every month because she did not what was going on. One year my cuz and her baby daddy invited themselves without telling any of the family to a birthday party at my parents house. They later left their love child behind in our house in the middle of the party for a booze run. They were gone for hours my grandma who's a saint was worried sick and those two arrived completely shitfaced.

Im a military wife and Im in the middle of earning my law degree. Im the one in distance for school and never stopped because of him. Went from my bachelors degree directly to law school. So yeah, the “dependants” give us a bad name. ?. What a beautiful made me cry. I work at the Norfolk Navy Exchange which happens to be the largest NEX in the world. So see them all! And I'm a vet. Anyway, one morning a woman came to my register with a return. My register doesn't start with a lot of cash, so big cash returns in the morning usually requires me to go to the cash office or you get a bunch of fives back. Anyway, her return was for something like 120. I had a couple of tens but I gave her the rest in fives. Her reaction? I am a commanders wife! I don't need all of these dirty fives in my wallet! However it never aspires to be anything else preventing it from becoming a classic amongst the genre.

I haven't been familiar with the true story but from the start, you just know where it is all gonna go. It still works well but nothing is a surprise because of that. It still has some great moments and a fair amount of heart It is seriously enjoyable and it is a likeable movie with a great cast. Kristen Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan are great here. I'm sure there are many people who will like this film. I just can't see that much greatness in it. It's formulaic and does it's best to be a lovely and charming film but it does it in such a manipulative way, and I hate it when films do that. It is still worth watching though.
