I can't believe I am about to say this but Nexon has finally made a game that I honestly feel is not pay to win. While it doesn't provide the same aesthetics that Maplestory brings Maplestory 2 brings a degree of depth and difficulty to the end game. Where this game falls flat like most RPGs is the bland story and shoddy early game play. The late game bosses have some interesting mechanics that make it fairly difficult even with proper gear however it sometimes feel like a real grind to progress. You will find yourself constantly fighting the same bosses to roll the right gear. Sadly, what is lost is some of the social aspects that Maplestory brought to the genre. Overall, I think this is a big improvement on what Nexon has done in the past with their other games in gameplay and how they introduce cash shop but a better story and early game would be is missed and would likely pull in many more casual players
