Plus simple, plus universel et plus grand public qu'un "Millenium Actress" ou qu'un "Paprika", l'animateur japonais réussit à nous surprendre tout de même. Du trés bon. Un travesti homosexuel, une fugueuse et un ivrogne, voilà les héros quelque peu atypiques de cette fable de Noël. Ces derniers partent à la recherche des parents d'un bébé abandonné à travers Tokyo, bravant maints périls. J'ai aimé la façon dont on découvre le passé des protagonistes tout au long de la quête, protagonistes d'emblée très attachants car très humains. Ce film d'animation aborde sous couvert de l'humour des thèmes... Lire plus J'ai l'impression de faire la même critique à chaque fois, mais comment pourrais-je faire autrement? Chaque nouveau dessin animé japonais que je découvre est en effet une source de bonheur intense, dont ??Tokyo Godfathers?? est peut-être l'un des plus beaux représentants. A la fois sensible et limite putassier, Satoshi Kon trouve en effet un équilibre improbable entre film d'aventures complètement déjanté et regard bienveillant... Alors que Gin, Hana et Miyuki, trois sans-abri vivant dans la rue, trouvent un bébé abandonné au milieu des ordures, ils décident de tout faire pour retrouver sa mère, ce qui va les emmener dans un périple où action, découverte et émotion seront au rendez-vous. J'ai vraiment eu du mal à rentrer dans cet animé malgré ses quelques bonnes idées, à l'image du point de départ. Perfect Blue feels like an inversion of Peter Pan, in which instead of the hero being the one who does not want to grow up, and the villain being the one who is all too aware of their limited potential (the ticking clock crock) it's reversed. In Perfect Blue the hero wants to grow up to realize their potential, and the villain wants to limit it by endless repetition. This is particularly haunting when we realize that the internet is Never Never Land; the place were our digital identities stay young, and endure long enough to strangle us like a collar that we've outgrown. To add another layer; this becomes all the more horrifying when our social capital is our market capital - something Perfect Blue touched on 10-15 years before it was a widespread thing. *Also brilliant analysis.
