As the movie opens, Mike and Marcus are driving their Porsche at top speed while Miami cruisers are following. Turns out that Marcus¡Ç daughter is about to give birth to his first grandchild. We then go to ¡ÈSan Maria Ixtel Prison, Mexico¡É. A female prisoner, with outside help, manages to escape. The woman is Isabel Aretas, and she is keen on taking revenge against everyone, including Mike, responsible for sending her to jail and killing her husband. Isabel sends her son to Miami to handle it... At this point we are 10 minutes into the movie, but to tell you more of the plot would spoil your viewing experience, you¡Çll just have to see for yourself how it all plays out. Couple of comments: after a 17 year hiatus, the Bad Boys return, sans director Michael Bay. Instead the helm is given to newcomers El Arbi and Fallah, two up-and-coming directors from Belgium in their early 30s and making their US directing debut. But the key to success is of course the return of Will Smith and Martín Lawrence as the buddy-cops. In particular Lawrence is effective as the retiree wanna-be. Januar 2020 Format: Prime Video Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) - mittlerweile Polizeiinspektor und Großvater - will seinen Job an den Nagel hängen, um mehr Zeit mit seiner Familie zu verbringen. Draufgänger Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) ist nach wie vor mit seinem Job verheiratet, aber kann mit seinem Neuen Partner nichts anfangen. Als Mike angeschossen wird, hilft Marcus seinem ehemaligen Partner bei der Suche nach dem Angreifer. Nach 17 langen Jahren ist er da, der 3. Ableger der "Bad Boys"-Reihe. Doch diesmal hat Michael Bay seinen Regiestuhl abgegeben und das merkt man diesem Teil an. Auch hier wird alles zerstört und in die Luft gejagt, aber eben nicht in typischer Michael-Bay-Manier. Dieser schießt auf Mike ein und Mike wird schwer verletzt ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Derweil geht Markus in den Ruhestand, da dieser gerade Opa geworden ist. Mike erholt sich und will Rache bzw. den vermeintlichen Mörder finden. Die Bad Boys kommen also "ein letztes Mal" zurück. Nun, ich hatte folgende Dinge vom Film erwartet: Eine Bromance, witzige Sprüche, Gewalt, Action... Grundsätzlich erfüllt der Film auch die Erwartungen aber ich muss dennoch nur 2 Sterne geben, weil er einfach eine ganz schlechte Fortsetzung der Reihe ist. Ich gehe auf die einzelnen Punkte nun im Positiven und Negativen ein: - Bromance: Diese ist wie eh uns je. Die Beiden lieben sich einfach und können weder mit noch ohne den Anderen - lustige Sprüche: wie auch in den Teilen davor wird Markus permanent auf die Schippe genommen und fällt durch seinen eigenartigen Charakter auf - Gewalt: Übertriebener als je zuvor. Todesarten völlig skurril und mit möglichst viel Blut - Action: Ebenfalls übertriebener als je zuvor. Wirklich ALLES explodiert. Auch Dinge, die gar nicht explodieren können. Z. b. schießt jemand in einer Szene auf die Ketten, die ein Auto auf einem Transporter halten und diese explodieren. Dann explodiert ein Tisch (der zuvor als Schutz vor tausenden von Kugeln dient). Bei den Explosionen überleben natürlich grundsätzlich alle Die o. g. Punkte sind auch grundsätzlich gar nicht schlimm ABER ein wenig Logik erwarte ich auch von einem Action-Film. Völlig am Thema vorbei ist jedoch die künstlich erzeugte Story rund um Mike, der nun geläutert werden soll. Ebenfalls lächerlich ist der Plot-Twist, der den Film m. E. nach völlig konstruiert wirken lässt. Ebenso das Ende. (Dies verrate ich natürlich nicht) Fazit: Leider der schlechteste Bad-Boys aller Zeiten. Hier kommt nicht das typische Flair auf, das die Filme ausmacht (dies liegt auch an den Nebendarstellern, die völlig deplatziert wirken). Februar 2020 Format: Prime Video Hollywood hat es schon wieder gemacht - einen Klassiker durch eine miese, grottenschlechte Fortsetzung entweiht. Der Film ist einzureihen mit "großartigen" Filmen wie Indepence Day 2, Ghostbusters 3, Predator Upgrade und ähnlichem. Die Story schwankt zwischen stark zwischen "da habe ich schon besseres gesehen", "0% realistisch / 0 glaubwürdig" und "einfach nur dämlich und unnötig". Viele Entscheidungen der Drehbuchautoren sind nicht nachvollziehbar (Anschlag auf Smith zu Beginn des Films, der Totenkult der Widersacher, die Teenie-Spezialeinheit, der Anschlag auf den Chief). Die Action gerade am Ende ist nicht cool sondern maßlos übertrieben und unnötig. Das gesamte Fiasko können nicht mal die Gags zwischen Lawrence und Smith retten, denn die sind zum Teil eher peinlich und gestellt statt genial platziert. März 2020 Format: Prime Video Bad Boys for Life ?Handlung: Marcus Bernett (Martin Lawrence) und Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) rasen in bekannter Manier, ?bewaffnet¡È mit einem schicken Sportwagen quer durch Miami, missachten sämtliche Verkehrsregeln und haben mehr oder weniger Spaß dabei. Marcus, der mittlerweile Opa geworden ist und aus diesem Grund beginnt über sein Leben nachzudenken äußert konkrete Gedanken seinen Job als Polizist an den Nagel zu hängen. Mike, der mit Leib und Seele Polizist ist, denkt noch lange nicht ans Aufhören und will Marcus überzeugen weiterzumachen. Während eines fußläufigen Sprintrennens wird plötzlich und aus dem Nichts auf Mike geschossen und Dieser schwerstverletzt. Der Täter kann unerkannt fliehen. Nach einer langen Operation und längerer Zeit im Koma, wacht er auf und regeneriert sich in der Folge. Während Mikes ?Abwesenheit¡È suchen seine Kollegen erfolglos nach dem Täter. Nach und nach werden mehr und mehr Persönlichkeiten aus den Kreisen der Polizei, Justiz und deren Umfeld auf grausame Art und Weise ermordet, ohne das es auch nur eine konkrete Spur auf die Identität des Täters gibt. Mike, der durch den Anschlag auf sein Leben natürlich nicht nur körperlich verletzt und fast getötet wurde sondern umso mehr geknickt und in seiner Ehre verletzt wurde, zögert keine Sekunde selbst auf die Suche nach dem Täter zu gehen. Marcus, der mittlerweile den Beruf des Polizisten an den Nagel gehängt hat, lehnt zuerst jede Unterstützung ab und lässt seinen alten Kumpel hängen. Natürlich dauert es aber nicht lange bis Mike Marcus überzeugt hat und die beiden in alter Manier auf die Jagd nach den Bösen gehen. In diesem Teil steht ihnen dabei nicht nur ein normaler Verbrecher gegenüber, der nur an Reichtum und Einfluss im Bereich des kriminellen Milieus interessiert ist, sondern ebenfalls eine persönliche Fehde gegenüber verschiedenen Personen der Strafverfolgungsbehörden führt und diese schlicht und einfach tot sehen will. ?Charaktere: Marcus und Mike treten in altbekannter Art und Weise und kein Stück verändert auf. Ihre Persönlichkeiten und Eigenschaften haben sich überhaupt nicht verändert oder gar weiterentwickelt. So ist Mike wie immer absoluter ?Vollprofi¡È, was den Beruf des Polizisten angeht, zumindest auf seine ganz eigene Art. Er missachtet weiterhin jegliche Vorschriften, trägt teure Anzügen, fährt Luxusschlitten und wendet äußerst fragwürdige aber wirkungsvolle Methoden an. Mike hingegen ?genießt¡È sein Leben als Rentner und versucht den Ruhestand wörtlich zu nehmen. Sein zumeist unsicheres Auftreten, die ständigen Ängste und Probleme sowie eine absolute Schusseligkeit zeichnen ihn weiterhin aus. Wenn es darauf ankommt halten beide aber wie immer zusammen und sind unzertrennlich. Die Nebenrollen sind allesamt ziemlich ?cool, abgezockt und ihnen macht keiner etwas vor¡È, wie es bereits aus anderen Teilen bekannt ist. ?Filmisches Handwerk: Die Handlung des Films ist wie immer ziemlich einfach und in offensichtlich aufgebaut. Die Wendungen und Überraschungen, wenn man diese so nennen kann, sind wenig intensiv und ziemlich einfach gestrickt. Auf die Handlung kommt es wie bei den Vorgängern jedoch absolut nicht an und der Film überzeugt durch die Gespräche, Actionszenen und klassische Situationskomik, die zumeist in den Persönlichkeiten der Hauptcharaktere begründet ist. Anhand der namhaften Darsteller (u. a. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig oder auch DJ Khaled) und der Vorgängerfilme lässt sich bereits erahnen, dass dieser Film in jeder Hinsicht hochwertig produziert wurde und entsprechend aussieht. Animationen und Spezialeffekte, die sehr häufig und ausgiebig eingebracht wurden, sehen erstklassig aus, sind teilweise einfallsreich und strotzen nur so vor Adrenalin, roher Gewalt und Testosteron. ?Fazit: Der dritte Teil der ?Bad Boys¡È-Reihe überzeugt mit den bewerten Stilmitteln und den charakteristischen Hauptfiguren, die sich auch nach 17 Jahren kein Stück verändert haben. Dadurch fügt der Film sich in das Gesamtwerk der Vorgänger ein und trumpft mit altbekannten Stilmitteln und den damit verbundenen Stärken und Schwächen auf. Wirkliche Neuheiten oder gar Innovationen sind nicht zu erwarten, was echte Fans der Filme jedoch nicht weiter stören dürfte. Smith und Lawrence trumpfen in ihren Paraderollen erneut auf und der Film ist eine wahre Actionkomödie mit allerlei Hinguckern und es werden die altbekannten Werte- und Moralvorstellungen sowie Stilmittel angewandt.
