Premise [ edit] Fifteen-year-old Skye moves with her father Ed from the big city to rural Northern Ireland, where they take over a local hotel called North Star Lodge, which was previously owned and managed by Skye's grandfather Patrick. At their new home, Skye tries to build a life, but this new life is far from complication free as she must navigate through the everyday stresses of life as a teenager. She struggles to integrate into a group of teenagers who live and work in the hotel, but discovers that most of them do not have good intentions. When she discovers that her father is planning to sell the hotel to Gil, Skye becomes upset as she has developed an emotional attachment to it. Skye decides to convince her father not to sell the hotel only to discover that the man wanting to buy it is her new friend's father. With their own phones dead at last, the children unsuccessfully attempt to start the generator and bring Grace her medication, but find her wholly convinced they are in purgatory and must do penance to ascend to heaven. I've seen Bright Burn, Pet Cematary and The Silence, and they were all very good. Looks like the remaining movies in this trailer will be no exception.
The Lodge Watch. Just saw this at the Fantasia Film Festival and gotta say I regretted staying to the end. The first half was absolutely promising with an eerie atmosphere but once the hugely illogical story-line comes into play, I was praying for a brilliant twist at the end to explain all my questions. Suffice it to say, the twist was moronic and hugely unsatisfying. Acting, especially from Riley, was quite strong and poor Alicia Silverstone must be desperate for cash these days as her bit role was completely throwaway and required very little from her.

Yet another disappointment from the half-baked faux-goth bro-sis team. Let's hope this is their last film.
