A woman wears short shorts and a low-cut crop tope through most of the movie (we see cleavage, bare abdomen and legs to the upper thighs). A woman wears a tight-fitting, low-cut dress that reveals cleavage and bare shoulders. We see a glimpse of a horse’s genitals. ? A woman kisses a man passionately twice and he seems stunned. A young man and a young woman kiss. A man and woman touch hands and the man makes a “smolder” expression causing the woman to swoon. Two young women and a young man hug in greeting. ? A woman agrees to marry a man, bear his children and forge a relationship in blood. A man demands to know where a woman is and that he plans to marry her. A man and a woman talk about their relationship while climbing a sheer rock/ice wall. A man talks about another man being a eunuch and that he “sacrificed his testicles. ” A woman (her body is occupied by a man) makes a remark about the first thing she did, which was to touch her “boobs”; and another woman (now in a man’s body) says, “If you touch my boobs, I will murder you. ” A young man talks about not being together with his girlfriend any longer. A man makes a reference to another man (now a horse) and that he should “see the size of his …” (presumably his genitals). Jumanji: The Next Level VIOLENCE/GORE 5 ? A man throws raw meat to two hyenas and they snarl and grab it from each other; the man goes on to explain that the meat is pieces of a man that he killed. ? We hear about a game character called “Jürgen the Brutal” and his savage horde that stole a sacred jewel and killed many people; we see an attack where dwellings are set on fire and people are struck to the ground with clubs and machetes (we do not see blood) as large hyenas snarl and prowl around. A man in a video game holds a machete over a man and a woman and the scene cuts away as we hear that he killed the two people. A herd of ostriches charge toward a group of people that speed away in dune buggies chased by the birds; the birds peck at the roofs of the vehicles, breaking holes through them and pulling the top off one, a bird pulls one man out of a buggy and the driver holds the man by the foot until he can free himself and the driver punches the ostrich in the beak throwing it through the air; one buggy flips over and the occupants get into the other one, a rocket launcher accidentally fires an explosive that blows up under one buggy, and a buggy speeds toward a deep crevasse (it stops before falling over) and the driver speeds away from the edge but then back toward it jumping over a ramp and nearly making it to the other side, leaving the birds behind (the people are thrown to safety and the buggy crashes into the crevasse). A group of people approach a series of rope bridges that they need to cross to reach the other side of a deep ravine; the bridges move and change positions as they try to navigate them and they are charged by a huge number of mandrills that lunge at them with large sharp fangs; a mandrill grabs a woman and throws her off a bridge to her death (she respawns), another mandrill tackles a woman and nearly bites her when a man kicks it off her and then shakes the bridge to throw many other mandrills off; a woman runs and grabs a rope, swings another woman to safety before swinging back again and landing safely but two men dangle from a bridge and one man cuts one side to get away from mandrills, and then cuts the other side and the men are slammed into a rock wall (one man is thrown to safety and the other pulls himself up). A man walks through a barn and is shot in the neck with a dart killing him and he blows to bloody bits; he respawns and tries again, dodging another dart, but getting hit by another one that kills him again and he blows to bloody bits and then respawns. ? An ostrich moves toward a group of people and one man tries to swish it away by poking it; the bird attacks the man and he bursts into tiny bloody bits (he then respawns and falls from the sky). A woman steals a key and a man grabs her as she tries to run away; two other men hold her and a third man says, “Cut off her head, ” as a man throws an axe toward her and she bursts into bloody bits and then respawns outside. Two men argue and threaten each other, they face each other to fight, one hits the other in the nose and the other punches him, throwing him back into a boulder that then falls on him and crushes him (he respawns). Many men charge toward a group of people and one man shoots a rocket launcher at them, blowing them all to bloody bits (we see a scorched mark on the ground) and they all respawn and fall from the sky. A giant snake bites down on a man (it grabs him from his head to his waist) and picks him up (the man blows into tiny bloody pieces and then is respawned, falling from the sky and landing hard on the ground). Several people are attacked by men and they fight with two holding flaming torches and another punching and throwing attackers around a room. A man punches another man repeatedly in the face and the second man tosses him through the air and into a table. A man turns on dance music and a woman fights with many people using punches, kicks, jumps, throws and nunchucks. A man escapes in a dirigible until another man ties the lead rope to a bridge and it is pulled to a stop; the second man climbs on board the vessel and the two men fight as the vessel crashes into walls, causing flames to burst from it; one man pushes the other man out of the vessel and they fall until he catches a rope and lets the second man fall to the ground (we do not see him hit the ground but understand that he is dead). ? A hippopotamus charges out of a river toward a man standing on the bank and a woman tackles the man out of the way as another man throws a stone at the hippo and it goes back into the water (we see the hippo’s large sharp teeth). Four people step out of a café and onto a sidewalk where they see a herd of ostriches stampeding along the sidewalk and road. Several people are surrounded by a large number of mandrills until a man on horseback arrives and the horse kicks several of them and the others run away. Four people are unbuckled from their seatbelts in a plane and dropped out of the back into a desert where they yell and roll in the sand (there are no injuries). A woman jumps and catches onto a hanging fire pot, then lands on a lever, flips into a tree where she picks a fruit and falls into flashing water below her; when she gets out and touches a man’s hand, they switch bodies and are thrown back as if they were shocked. A woman jumps and flips around a tree and a branch breaks, dropping her into water; she touches a man’s hand and they are thrown back as if they were shocked (there are no injuries) and they switch bodies. A man punches another man in the face and he is thrown through the air; he hits another man that is thrown through a brick wall, and the man then fights many more men with punches and throws until a huge number of men move toward him. A man runs on a rope bridge and twists his ankle (we see him limp and a woman bandages his ankle later). A man falls back over a hill (there are no injuries). Many armed men and women surround two men and take them into a fort where they are questioned and threatened by another man. A horse with a woman on its back jumps from a cliff and before hitting the ground sprouts wings and flies. A man and a woman climb a sheer rock wall and stop to talk for a while. A woman is lowered by a cable into a cavern where hyenas lunge at her (she is unharmed). ? Men and women in a bar are shown with a variety of weapons and one man throws axes at a bullseye on the wall. A man falls out of the sky yelling and lands hard on the ground (it’s a video game and there are no injuries). We hear the pounding of drums and two young women and a young man find a video game that has been reassembled and discover that another young man is missing (presumably having gone into the game); they touch the game controller and two of them are disintegrated (we see streams of light) and taken into the game where they each assume different game avatars. People are transported out of a video game and back to the real world (we see them disintegrate and reform). ? A woman slaps a man in the face and walks away. A young woman yells about having been eaten by a hippo in a game and a young man says that he was killed by a piece of cake. A woman is described as “The Killer of Men. ” An elderly man sits in a chair and it tips over spilling him onto the floor (he is not harmed). A young man is yelled at by his boss. A man blames another man for selling him out when he sold their business. A man describes hyenas as having “bone crushing teeth. ” A young man walks on a city street and

Jumanji: The Next Level is a sequel to the 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, itself a sequel to the 1995 film Jumanji (and its Spiritual Successor Zathura). Directed by Jake Kasdan, it sees the return of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas, who are joined this time by Danny Devito, Danny Glover and Awkwafina. Following the events of the previous film, Spencer secretly kept the pieces of the Jumanji video game, and while visiting from college for the holidays, worked to repair the system in the basement of his house. When Spencer's friends arrive, they find Spencer missing and the game running, and decide to re-enter Jumanji to save him. Spencer's visiting grandfather, Eddie (DeVito), and his estranged friend, Milo Walker (Glover), hear the commotion, and inadvertently get sucked into the game too. The teenaged friends must help Eddie and Milo get used to their in-game avatars and get their help to find Spencer and escape Jumanji again. The film was released on December 13, 2019. Jumanji: The Next Level contains examples of: Acting Unnatural: When Ming and Finbar go off to steal camels at the Oasis, they leave Bravestone (currently the avatar of Grandpa Eddie) to keep watch and tell him not to draw attention. He stands in the middle of the square looking awkward. When two locals walk by?not paying him any attention?he calls out "Nothing to see here! Keep moving! ". This, naturally, attracts their attention, and the situation soon devolves into a brawl that draws in most of the population of the Oasis. Action Girl: Martha as Ruby Roundhouse continues to be a veritable One-Woman Army, dispatching multiple mooks. Actor Allusion: Danny DeVito hearing that the chef at Nora's left for Philadelphia. Perhaps to work at Paddy's Pub? Kevin Hart has a scary encounter with an ostrich while riding in a vehicle. Aesop Amnesia: Spencer backpedals on the lesson he learned in the previous film about the importance of the real world and the dangers of the Jumanji video game, as he works to rebuild it, feeling inadequate and out of control in his life compared to his friends. Alternative Foreign Theme Song: The Japanese version, weirdly enough, uses a Christmas-themed song titled "Merry Merry Christmas Night" by Taiiku Okazaki for its ending theme. Artistic License ? Geography: Jumanji was always a fictional African jungle and associated wildlife. While the characters start in the same swampy area they did last time, they got in a plane and after five minutes of exposition are dumped into Saharan sand dunes. Then they trek their way to a snowy mountain fortress, all of which would be a thousand miles apart and not in that order. Granted, it's a video game but also runs into Africa Is a Country. Autobots, Rock Out! : "Welcome to the Jungle" plays again, as the characters decide to bathe into character-changing waters. Avengers, Assemble! : Bethany explicitly refers to the others as her 'team' when asking Alex for help. Bag of Holding: Played Up to Eleven with Mouse. His bag now holds an entire array of miscellaneous items that come useful right at the moments the team needed them, from a smaller bag containing ice-climbing equipment to an entire boombox to trigger Ruby's Dance Battler skill. Bait-and-Switch: At one point, Milo encounters a hippo, presumably the same one that killed Bethany the last time. Fridge (who is in Bethany's avatar) tries to warn Milo, but is himself killed, this time by an anaconda. Battle Couple: Martha and Spencer become this once reunited, particularly when Spencer gets the Bravestone avatar back. Big Damn Heroes: When it looks like the gang is about to be killed by mandrills, Alex and Bethany (as "Seaplane" and Cyclone the horse, respectively) show up and scare them off. Bittersweet Ending: Spencer, Eddie and the others exit the game and return to the real world but Milo decides to stay behind and protect Jumanji, the game is still out there, and Spencer's mom and a heating mechanic are now presumably sucked into the game while releasing a herd of ostriches into the real world. Black Comedy: The character deaths in this film are more over-the-top and Played for Laughs. It starts with Fridge lecturing the group on how to avoid the hippo that killed him last time and to always be alert, before a giant snake descends out of nowhere and snaps him up. We also get Bravestone being ripped to shreds by a peck from an ostrich, Milo being Punched Across the Room into a rock outcropping that falls and crushes him, and the entire party is blown up by a rocket launcher fired using Improbable Aiming Skills. Black Dude Dies First: Fridge is the first one to lose a life, although in this case as the Shelly Oberon avatar. Brick Joke: Fridge tries to convince himself that Shelly is not completely useless by attempting to do some squat-thrusts, but collapses from exhaustion after barely pulling off just one. Later when he becomes Ruby, he attempts to do squat-thrusts again, only this time he ends up leaping through the roof with a single jump. Eddie Bravestone starts off confused about the context of the game and calls it Ju-man-ji. When Eddie Ming sets the clear condition for the game and realizes he has to shout its name, Eddie/Ming: What did they say? Ju-man-ji? Eddie constantly spams Bravestone's Smoldering Intensity skill at random moments throughout the film. While talking to Nora at the end of the film, real-life Eddie tries to use his Smoldering Intensity to flirt with her. Butt-Monkey: Fridge Johnson is once again stuck into one of the non-badass avatars, which he considers extremely unfair. In the previous film, Fridge Mouse had the highest amount of Weaknesses, at three Weaknesses in total note. This time, while Milo Mouse did not gain any additional Weaknesses, Fridge Shelly gains an additional three Weaknesses note to Shelly's original Weakness of Endurance, making his a total of four Weaknesses and, once again, the highest amount in the group. Call-Back: The same sequence for entering Jumanji was reused (running through a forest before falling a great height into the jungle), only this time it is from the perspective of Martha/Ruby. Like in Welcome to the Jungle, Shelly Oberon is killed near the same spot, in the same way (getting eaten on the head), though both the animal involved and who's controlling Shelly are different. Franklin "Mouse" Finbar is still weak to cake. It gets to the point that Fridge Mouse panics and immediately wrecks an entire cake offered to him, while in real-life Fridge is shown to have grown averse to eating cake. Ruby Roundhouse still retains her Dance Battler skill, which comes into play during the climax of the film. At the end of the film, Spencer plays Street Fighter V with Eddie, the game he was playing at the start of the previous film. During the end credits sequence, the board game dice and Alan's game token are seen, as a reference to the first movie. The Cameo: Bebe Neuwirth makes an appearance as Aunt Nora, her character from the original, who now owns the eponymous "Nora's" restaurant. Chekhov's Gun The Jumanji Berry is Jurgen's weakness. The glowing water around the Jumanji Berry that lets the players switch avatars pops up again in the climax. Once again, each character's stats. Shelly Oberon's skill of Geometry, Ruby's skill of nunchuks, and Mouse's skill of Linguistics. Chekhov's Skill: One of Bravestone's established skills is "smoldering intensity, " which amounts to a wispy stare off into the distance. With Eddie he can't seem to get it quite right, the timing is off or he ends up with a slack jawed gape. It's not until after he leaves Jumanji that he nails it flirting with Nora, the owner of his old restaurant. Comically Missing the Point: Eddie and Milo take some time to comprehend the nature of the situation they are in. Company Cross References: As usual for a Sony film, it also crosses into Product Placement. Spencer's bedroom still has a poster for a PlayStation 4 game (and he's playing the PS4 with his grandpa at the end of the movie), the Jumanji console's hooked up to a large Sony Trinitron CRT from the 2000s, and the boombox pulled out towards the end of the film by Mouse is an old 80s Sony boombox. A rather clever case. When Milo as Cyclone rescues Eddie as Ming and they follow the instructions to end the game, it looks like a pegasus flying above sun-tinted clouds ? very much like the 1990s TriStar Pictures logo that the 1995 Jumanji opened with (this film and its' predecessor were instead released by Columbia Pictures due to Tristar being Demoted to Extra in the late 90s). Convenient Terminal Illness: Milo is revealed to have some unspecified terminal illness, which prompts his decision to stay in Jumanji in his avatar in the end... and his decision to come mend bridges with Eddie in the first place, as the latter correctly guesses. Justified since, well, getting old sucks. Crazy Jealous Guy: Switchblade is married to Dr. Bravestone's ex-girlfriend and is unhappy that she still has feelings for Bravestone. Damn You, Muscle Memory! : No one got to choose their characters before entering the game. Martha arrived as Ruby Roundhouse again, which gave her an edge because she was well versed with the character. Fridge went into Shelly Oberon's body instead of Mouse, forcing him to be The Navigator rather than a Human Pack Mule and The Beastmaster. Spencer wanted to return to Jumanji to relive the feeling of being Bravestone again, but was put into the new character Ming Fleetfoot, a small Asian female cat burglar. After figu
