1:20 imagine this in the final battle of this movie. This is incredible! I get chills everytime I watch this... The light sabers going into the ground is a metaphor for Disney burying the franchises into the ground. Theres a reason why Palpatine is back, someone has to tell Rey the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise. Excelente el análisis, como siempre. Calling it now Reys red saber is misdirection. Why couldnt JJ do 8, then I probably wouldve been a “true fan” but sadly Im a divided fan. The people rating this 1/10 are clueless about what makes a good, entertaining film, that much is clear. This was a long film but kept myself and my 12 year old son engaged throughout, with the twists and turns of the film scarcely believable but who cares? He loved it, I was satisfied, what more can you want. All the Star Wars nerds saying this is an awful film are just wrong. It takes things from earlier Star Wars films? Yes, of course it does! That's good in my boom and adds to the nostalgia of this one. Far from perfect but absolutely not rubbish.

Both objectively and subjectively I think it's a good movie. Yeah there were a couple small things I maybe wasn't thrilled about (but that's true for all movies. I overall thoroughly enjoyed it and will probs see it more than once. J.J: Bring back Sidious. D. It is clear from the first 5 minutes of this film that it is going to be a mess. There is basically no exposition in the film, and I think that is possibly its biggest failing creatively of all its many failings. What exposition there is is flat out told to you instead of revealed. That is a really bad way to start a movie, and it suffers for it. The exposition which is explained to you at the start throws in about ten major shifts in the plot within those first five minutes which would be more properly suited for a climax in and of themselves, changing all the stakes and almost completely disconnecting this film from the previous two entries in the trilogy right from the outset. This was not a good creative decision by JJ Abrams, and the film doesn't really recover from that unforced error until about halfway through. The pacing of the film was designed for a hummingbird, with no time to even emotionally respond or absorb what transpires on the screen before we are off to the next bit of convoluted madness. There should have been half as much plot but twice as much time spent with the remaining half and half as many characters but twice as much time spent with the remaining characters. Less is more and show don't tell these are fundamentals of movie-making J. J. Abrams should know at this point in his career. The film is technically sound in a lot of ways. The action is itself very pretty, but without character development there are no stakes. Why should you care what happens? Whether people almost get shot or do get shot or blown up, why should you care if you aren't invested in those people because you know them? The acting isn't that bad, but there was very little acting demanded given the lack of narrative and character development. This is the worst Star Wars movie that has ever been made, in my opinion. It is worse than Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. At least that movie had a cognizable narrative, even though it was a terrible and boring narrative. The acting is better in this movie than some of the characters in that movie, but that is the only thing that is better. This movie was bad in a way that makes the previous movies worse. I wish I had not seen it. I mean technically that's correct If you mean he created her in more of a genetic way rather than a test tube way.
