Dear team, Most of my family have seen the film in the cinema in Australia, here in Europe we can not wait. Hey @Acorn Tv can I subscribe from Asia? I am ready to throw wads of cash your way... Cancelling the series Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries was one of the dumbest mistakes made by Australian television - the show was successful and popular and yet cancelled. I read at the time they wanted to make room for other programs - there had to be another reason, they couldnt have been that stupid. We watched it PBS, then bought the series and we also watch it on Ovation. We miss it and Dr. Blake.
This series is true jewel - great story line for every episode, well developed characters, each with its one center and most of all the heroine Phryne Fisher, the utterly passionate, outrageous character for that time in age. What I like about the stories it is about friendship, personal tragedies to overcome and the bravery of the women at that time. Of course the scenery of the setting, the clothes and the music rounds it up in a way TV series do not match today. Congratulation to all the actresses, actors, producers and directors. Charming and well done.
Loved it, watched last night on acorn via amazon. Watch it with the sound turned down. Looks good but the scripts, direction and most of the performances are unbearable.
I went to ripen lee in melb to see the outfits they are gorgeous in person. Whooopieeeee. This is GLORIOUS NEWS. Can't wait to see the movie! Greetings from Canada. I can't wait to see the movie. I want to see it in the cinema. Miss Fisher is in her late 20s in the books. Essie Davis is considerably older, and it shows. One of the best shows I have seen just fabulous and their chemistry is so good. Very funny. I love Miss Fisher, our PBS station has it and i imagine i have devoured each episode of the original 10 times. i didn't know about the crowdffunding or the movie! thank you thank you. I hope it comes back. I lose count of her costume changes per episode. La canzone. The sexual tension is high but there is minimal skin is shown. N yet it's is a sexy show. One thing tho, did the actress playing Dottie got pregnant during the show.
Do they ever say what makes her qualified to be a dective. not just having a knife an gun. good show. I love love love Miss Fisher's shows. I miss them from Netflix. I watched all them several times. they were do fun. I have a sneaky suspicion that this is a way of edging out of a 4th season. I went to see all her costumes in Melbourne they were incredible.
Essie Davis is a like Erroll Flynn. I was always so caught up in their last kiss that I never realized that she was wearing the brooch he gave her. ???. The list is very nice,very professional. I simply LOVE Ms Fisher and her Detective - what a scintillating duo. I'm devastated that there are no more episodes. Have watched the Series over and over again, such a pity that no more episodes were made. Look forward to the film. I hope it will come out in NY soon. After such a fantastic original series it's odd that they've returned with what looks like a weak, just for laughs follow up with a distinctly Avengers feel. The characters, the back story, the era etc were perfect in the original, they should have ended on a flapper high and left Miss Fisher in the 20's.
