Let's assume I'm a Zoomer who knows little to nothing about WW2 apart from the barely-surface material that gets taught in schools these days - what the Hell am I supposed to take away from this trailer? It doesn't tell me anything about the plot or the characters involved, about where it takes place or even the nationality of the people it's about (which is pretty damn important if you're talking about WW2 considering the international scope of the conflict. There's literally nothing to get invested in as an outsider to this movie except a bunch of pretty cinematography. Once again, I'm guessing based off the comments that this must be a good movie, which only makes me all the more upset at how half-assed this trailer is. It seems like the actors and the director really deserved better than this. Idi i smotri Free online. Idi i smotri free online live. Idi i smotri free online watch. Serbian film Enter the void. This film should be mandatory for every war hungry individual in the world to see. The Jewish community was devastated by Hitler yes, six million strong gone. However 628 villages 35 million Russians and they don't have a huge place in American history books at all. This shows the innocence, destruction, disaster, repulsive, and ignorance of war. This film shows how propaganda gets under your skin and how an ideal ruins people slower then a butter knife. Slowly watching a child become a man and a dream become a nightmare I reflect on myself all too much. The film spoke to me so clearly in its message so concise in its roots. I can smell the passion see the passion and feel the passion. As the child watches things blow up, people die, and his life draw to a possible close every scene, he looks into the lens! The most amazing technique I've seen in film that has brought me close to the subject matter and characters, the moments where they look at me in the eye and say there lines to me but look as though they are truly in grave danger. This film deserves 11 stars and a seat in film history for eternity. I saw this film in my twenties and I thought that is was a masterpiece then and now in my fifties I am convinced that this film is one of the greatest films ever made about the horror of war. If you can find it please see it. It will change you forever. Come and See File:Come and See (poster) Russian theatrical release poster Directed by Elem Klimov Written by Ales Adamovich Starring Aleksei Kravchenko Olga Mironova Music by Oleg Yanchenko Cinematography Alexei Rodionov Edited by Valeriya Belova Production company Mosfilm Belarusfilm Distributed by Sovexportfilm Release dates July?1985 ( Moscow) Running time 142 minutes [1] Country Soviet Union Language Belarusian Russian German Come and See ( Russian: Иди и смотри, Idi i smotri; Belarusian: Ідзі і глядзі, Idzi i hlyadzi) is a 1985 Soviet war drama directed by Elem Klimov about, and occurring during, the Nazi German occupation of the Byelorussian SSR. Aleksei Kravchenko and Olga Mironova star as the protagonists Flyora and Glasha. [2] The screenplay by Klimov and Ales Adamovich had to wait eight years for approval; the film was finally produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II, and was a large box-office hit, with 28, 900, 000 admissions in the Soviet Union alone. The film was selected as the Soviet entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 58th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. [3] The film's title derives from Chapter 6 of The Apocalypse of John, in which "Come and see" is said in the first, third, fifth, and seventh verses [Rev 6:1, 3, 5, 7] as an invitation to look upon the destruction caused by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. [4] Chapter 6, verses 7?8 [Rev 6:7-8] have been cited as being particularly relevant to the film: And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see! And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Plot In 1943 two Belarusian boys are digging in a sand field looking for abandoned rifles in order to join the Soviet partisan forces. Yustin, an old man, warns them not to dig (using sarcasm and reverse psychology). One of the boys, Flyora ( Aleksei Kravchenko), finds an SVT-40 rifle. The next day partisans arrive at his house and take Flyora with them, to the dismay of Flyora's mother. She fears that the loss of her son, like his father before him, will lessen her and her daughters' chances of survival. The partisans converge in a forest and prepare to confront the Germans. Flyora joins their forces as a low-rank militiaman and is ordered to do all the labor in the detachment. When the partisans are ready to move on, their commander, Kosach (played by Liubomiras Lauciavicius and dubbed by Valeriy Kravchenko), orders Flyora to remain behind at the camp in reserve and exchange boots with one of his fellows. Bitterly disappointed, Flyora walks into the forest weeping and comes across someone else who has been left behind ? Glafira (or Glasha, played by Olga Mironova), a beautiful girl infatuated with Kosach. The girl becomes delusional and confuses Flyora with Kosach and kisses him. Suddenly, German airplanes appear and begin to drop German parachutists, and the camp comes under heavy artillery fire causing Flyora to go deaf. After hiding in the forest, the two return to Flyora's home village. His house is empty but his sisters' dolls are lined up on the floor and the place is overrun by flies. They find a still-warm dinner in the oven and try to eat, but Glasha vomits seeing the flies and dolls. Denying that his family was killed, Flyora believes that his family must be hiding on a nearby island across a bog. As they run from the village, Glasha turns and sees a huge pile of bodies stacked behind Flyora's house, but is unable to tell Flyora of it. Unable to accept that his family is dead, Flyora becomes hysterical as he and Glasha painstakingly wade through the bog. At the island they meet a resistance fighter, Roubej (played by Vladas Bagdonas). Glasha tells Roubej that Flyora is mad. Roubej takes the pair to a large number of other villagers who have fled the Germans. Flyora sees Yustin, who had been doused in petrol and burnt by the Germans, and accepts that his family did not survive. Yustin reminds Flyora of his earlier warning about digging up the rifle, and Flyora blames himself for the deaths of this family members. Roubej takes Flyora and two others to find food, leaving Glasha to care for the rest of the villagers. They run into SS activity and the food stored is too well-defended to be raided. Flyora unknowingly leads the group through a minefield in which two of the companions are killed. A German plane drops empty liquor bottles. At dusk, Roubej and Flyora sneak up to an occupied town and manage to steal a cow from a German-collaborating farmer, but as they flee across the fields, they are shot at. Both Roubej and the cow are killed. The next morning, Flyora, unable to move the dead cow, finds a horse and cart. He attempts to take the horse at the dismay of the owner who stops Flyora. They hear the sound of approaching German soldiers. The farmer helps Flyora hide his partisan jacket and rifle in the field, and takes him to his village of Perekhody, where they hurriedly discuss a fake identity for him. A German Einsatzkommando unit moves into the village, first surrounding the village. While Flyora is introduced to much of the farmer's family, a German officer comes inside of the house and the civilians give him food and water to eat. A collaborator also comes in the house and begins checking for anything valuable to take. Flyora starts walking outside of the house, but before he can step completely out, he is pushed down by a German soldier, much to the amusement of the other soldiers. The whole village is being herded by the German soldiers and Flyora attempts to warn everyone of their oncoming death, but is caught by another collaborator with a swastika drawn helmet and forced to run around in circles with the other men of the village. At first, the women and children are made to show their papers to the Germans, but then everyone is forced into the Village Church. An Obersturmführer (played by Juri Lumiste) announces to the terrified people, "those without children can leave. " Everyone inside the church calls the Germans "beasts. " Flyora takes up the offer and climbs out of the church, only to be handled by a German sergeant and shown to the Sturmbannführer, the commanding officer of the German unit. He is then thrown down and Flyora watches as a woman and her child get climb out of the church. She is grabbed by German soldiers and her child is thrown back into the church, the woman being dragged by her hair by a Collaborator and then is made to stay too. Around the whole village, drunk Germans and Collaborators laugh and listen to music, many finding ways to entertain themselves
This might be a rather nice movie to see were it not for the rainbow background and the annoying subscribe button that never goes away! Really? This is why there are only 77 subscribers, without the aforementioned you might have several hundred.

Nice svt 40. The film follows the mounting mental anguish of a fresh boy soldier in the face of the atrocities of war ? his face steadily more haggard as horror piles upon horror. There is a mix of familiar Tarkovsky elements: the child's embroilment in war; the forest as a kind of Eden, the cabin home of childhood, burning buildings. The best parts come early on during some beautiful lyrical moments in the forest ? showering in a rainbow, the dance on the box, and inside the cosy little fir-branch shelter which goes down among my favourite movie scenes of all time ? the stork looking in was inspired. And his voice goes hoarse after the bombing ? how intelligent - only the Russians could have done that.
The largely ambient soundtrack in the second half of the film (to reflect the boy's temporary deafness) coloured the madness of it all by means of sound ? a brilliant concept done to astonishing effect. And yet. I wasn't completely convinced by it all. It was over-dramatised in places (the burnt man's speech, for example, and the boy's face was contorted with insanity a bit too often) ? a more restrained approach might have been more effective. And I was sorry when the ditsy Glasha disappeared because she really had something. The relentless depiction of the German army as a travelling circus of drunks, whores and eccentrics was superficial and smelt of propaganda. another superb film marred by the Soviets. Let's not suppose the Nazis were the only ones to have burnt villages. The Russians themselves had been committing pogroms like this for decades, and had done the same to non-Jews in their civil war (remember Dr Zhivago. br> The reverse-montage at the end also didn't work for me. There were deeper questions to be asked here, not simply about Hitler's childhood, but about humanity in general. The veneer of civilised behaviour is only skin deep. These events were not in the distant past but within living memory. Don't suppose for a moment that it was the fault of one man, that it can't happen again, that it is not happening somewhere in the world right now - that barbarity is not somewhere deep inside all of us. The killing of the cow? Well, it's silly to want your sensibilities spared in a film like this. Thankfully, it wasn't gratuitous.
Being a Vietnam Veteran, I was watching a War Movie. There was something off about the movie, and I couldn't quite pin down what it was. Then it dawned on me what was off. The soldiers weren't cussing and swearing. LOL. Good job. @Ward S: Not quite, as it is more like Measure for Measure on which I will of course quote the Bard himself at the end of this reply. While all Russian art was made according to Marxist wishes at that time so there is no excuse or do you think the director could have made back than a movie about patriotic Cossacks joining with the Germans in order to depose the Marxist usurpers? I think not and so I reject this flick as a product of the ruling ideology. But now for the Shakespeare quote.

There he meets a girl, Glasha, who accompanies him back to his village. On returning home, Florya finds his family and fellow peasants massacred. His continued survival amidst the brutal debris of war becomes increasingly nightmarish, a battle between despair and hope. Description A rare look at World War II from the Soviet side, Come and See is based on the real-life experiences of Ales Adamovich, who fought with Russian partisans in Belarus in 1943, when the Nazis systematically torched over 600 villages and slaughtered their inhabitants. Adamovich and director Elem Klimov co-authored the screenplay, which shows the horrors through the eyes of a 13-year-old peasant boy named Florya (Alexei Kravchenko. Over his single mother's protests, he joins the partisans, but they leave him behind in their camp when they set off to fight the Germans. Glascha (Olga Mironova) a lovely young girl, befriends him, but the two are caught in the midst of an air raid which leaves Florya nearly deaf. Now utterly frightened, Florya and Glascha return to his village to find it in ruins, and, in one of the film's many harrowing scenes, they wade through a swamp to locate the survivors. Now committed to seek vengeance for the death of his mother and neighbors, Florya returns to the front, but finds himself in a village that's right in the path of the Nazi firestorm. A band of partisans arrive too late to save the village but in time to capture and mete out justice to several of the Nazi officers. Awarded the Grand Prix at the 1985 Moscow Film Festival, Come and See is notable as an honest and unflinching portrait of one of the darker chapters among many in the history of the World War II. Walter Goodman wrote for The New York Times that "The history is harrowing and the presentation is graphic. Powerful material, powerfully rendered. and dismissed the ending as "a dose of instant inspirationalism. but conceded to Klimov's "unquestionable talent. Rita Kempley, of the Washington Post, wrote that "directing with an angry eloquence, Klimov] taps into that hallucinatory nether world of blood and mud and escalating madness that Francis Ford Coppola found in Apocalypse Now. And though he draws a surprisingly vivid performance from his inexperienced teen lead, Klimov's prowess is his visual poetry, muscular and animistic, like compatriot Andrei Konchalovsky's in his epic Siberiade. Mark Le Fanu wrote in Sight & Sound 03/01/1987 that Come and See is a "powerful war director has elicited an excellent performance from his central actor Kravchenko. According to Klimov, the film was so shocking for audiences, however, that ambulances were sometimes called in to take away particularly impressionable viewers, both in the Soviet Union and abroad. Watch Full Length Idź i patrons. Watch Full Length Idź i patrimoine. Saw this film last night. Nothing could have prepared me for it. Okay okay, people are calling the propaganda card on this one but to be honest, this film is nothing like the propaganda we see from Holywood that just shows some sort of hero or super machine that saves the day. In war, there are no heroes when there are millions of people being murdered. regardless of the regime or war. There are no heroes. I now live in Latvia and of course, the echos of the soviet union are still whispering the streets. A former KGB torture building is being opened up to the public this very week. It is important to not forget the way that anybody was mistreated as a human being. I just have to say that this film hit it home on every account. towards every regime that has ever existed. I would say that it isn't propaganda for the very fact that it doesn't show any good reason to show joining the soviet army. The kid never fired a gun, was mistreated and left behind to fend for himself. It shows the locals experiencing what was experienced. The 9 months of filming for 2.5 hrs worth of shocking footage was gruelling for them. It is a history lesson not a propaganda machine. Overall, the film is utterly amazing. The soundtrack. The acting. The realism. The terror. The horror. Films like this do not get made very often. It was the last film by the director and he certainly went out meaning every scene he made in it.

This was the ugliest most beautiful war movie I have ever seen. Being a fan of the war movies, I have seen most blockbuster films that have tried to capture the essence of war either through group dynamics "saving private Ryan" through one persons perspective "Empire of the Sun" or even through an artists eye "the thin red line" but this movie "come and see" had the ability to draw me in, i felt so connected to the main character that it was hard to watch him suffer so much, I felt so drawn to him and then became very involved in the movie. Although the movie is gruesome and has a very real war-like feel to it, I believe that this is what makes it so beautiful, telling the story without trying to hold back from emotions. I think a great movie is one that can manipulate your emotions to the will of the director/writer, that just goes to show how much thought went into this film. Although there is a soviet propaganda under feel, this is a very real and beautiful film.
The WWI movie The Lost Battalion I personally thought was a good accurate war depiction movie. Absolutely gritty and dark film. Very well-done, especially for a film from 1987. Excellent writing. It doesn't treat the Vietnam War with kid gloves like some other films might at points. It's all morbid, hopeless, and melancholic from the beginning. Quite heartwrenching. The ending to the mist makes me wanna rip my hair out omg. Watch Full Length Idź i patrick.
