During a weekend when one film was raking in upwards of 33,600 per screen, the Super Smart Hollywood Moguls threw this flick up on more than 2,500 screens nationwide and saw it capture well under 1% of that more appealing film's per-screen take to go down as one of our history's biggest flops ever. Needless to say, I was the ONLY person viewing PLAYMOBIL: THE MOVIE during a prime showtime in a 400-seat theater. (It was not unlike sitting through a Detroit Tigers or Tampa Bay Rays home contest, but without even having a shot of coming away with a foul ball! Perhaps the best thing I can say about PLAYMOBIL: THE MOVIE is that all of its rain delays were only on the screen. For those viewers who have always hankered for a horror flick featuring "Barney, the Purple Dinosaur" as the main villain, PLAYMOBIL: THE MOVIE is likely to float your boat. For everyone else, this movie merits a "Buyer: Beware! warning.

But I'm kinda happy that what I thought was going to be a completely animated story had a live action part. Not that I hate animation or anything like that but the live action set up was good for hyping me up on a concept I know nothing about really. Plus it adds a really funny bid when the live action kids become the Playmobil characters. It's like the b-movie version of the LEGO movie. A brother and sister get sucked into the world of Playmobil playsets and when little brother gets kidnapped big sis teams up with a food truck dude and super secret spy Rex dasher (who was really entertaining) to save her brother. Overall Playmobil the movie is not bad. The musical numbers did not impress me (but it's really not my thing) I did love the animation. Very good looking and flowed nicely. Not much of a story just a watered down reason to feature all the most popular or moreCommon Playmobil playsets.

This movie was pretty entertaining. The real people parts were the worst part, but basically just setting up the story. I loved Jim Gaffigan's character (Del. My son loves this movie even though he doesn't even play with Playmobil and I also found it enjoyable and original. That's more than I can say for a lot of kids movies out there.
