This was a really good movie of cource it had its problems but it was a great cast, great story and i had a blast. It is not something you have to watch but if you went to The movies this is a good choice.

This film, simply titled Dolittle, stars Robert Downey Jr. as a character who’s been played by several actors, but perhaps most famously by Eddie Murphy in the 1998 comedy, Dr. Dolittle. Why did RDJ choose this as his first big role after retiring from Tony Stark and the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Reader, that question will haunt me to the end of my days. Maybe he’s trying to help out Eddie Murphy’s Oscar campaign. But whatever his reasons, he did that, the movie exists, and now we all have to deal with it. Dolittle opens in theaters this Friday, which means, whether or not you plan to see it, now would be a great time to rewatch the film that has a soft spot in the hearts of so many millennials. But how? Is Dr. Dolittle on Netflix? Is Dr. Dolittle on Disney Plus? Read on to find out. IS DR. DOLITTLE ON NETFLIX? Sadly, no. There is however another Eddie Murphy children’s comedy on Netflix: 2009’s Imagine That, starring Murphy as an alcoholic father who finds the secret to his recovery in his daughter’s ( Black-ish ‘s Yara Shahidi), imaginary world. IS DR. DOLITTLE ON DISNEY PLUS? Also no. This one hurts, because Dr. Dolittle was streaming on Disney+ when the streaming service first launched. (It’s a 20th Century Fox film, whose library Disney acquired when it bought out Fox last year. ) However, it was taken off, along with several other films that quietly disappeared from Disney+ at the beginning of the year. Disney+, if you can’t give me unlimited access to Eddie Murphy and his canine best friend, Norm MacDonald, what even is the point of you?! IS DR. DOLITTLE ON HULU? Nope! However, you can watch the ’60’s Doctor Dolittle if you have the STARZ add-on. IS DR. DOLITTLE ON AMAZON PRIME? Yes, thankfully. But you will have to pay for it. Dr. Dolittle is $3. 99 to rent or $14. 99 to buy on Amazon Prime. I realize the internet has made many of us feel entitled to free content in the blink of an eye, but I think four bucks is a fair price for a classic. WHERE ELSE CAN I WATCH DR. DOLITTLE ONLINE? We all LOVED it. The kids were belly laughing through nearly the entire movie and no one in our group got scared. A great resource to use for reviews is You can search the title of a movie/book/game, the review will tell you all of the language, sexual content, drug and alcohol use, violent content and frightening scenes. We use it for every movie before we go and watch something. It gives a much more unbiased review of things. Everyone has different standards and everyone’s child(ren) are at different places and it’s hard to make decisions based off of personal decisions. For example: had I read the review above and saw that someone’s 9 year old was frightened in some parts, we wouldn’t have taken our group. On the other hand if someone saw that my group of 3-7 year olds didn’t get scared, and they take their four year old and they are frightened, it’s no good for the four year old or parent(s). My 28 year old son thought it was OK and definitely worth seeing at least once, my spouse generally liked it but had a few quibbles with historical consistency, and I liked it perfectly well and would watch it again. I do think there are a few stylistic inconsistencies that keep it from being a truly great movie, but it's a *good* movie, and so I encourage folks to disregard the easy snarky disdain of irresponsible critics. The movie follows a picarescque story tradition rather than action-adventure or hero's journey traditions that are most popular today: that choice is consistent with the stylistic era of Lofting's book series. Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2020 Format: Prime Video Three adults - my son, my spouse, and I went to see this in theaters, mostly because I found the over-the-top snarky critical pans super annoying and didn't think they told me anything about the actual production. My 28 year old son thought it was OK and definitely worth seeing at least once, my spouse generally liked it but had a few quibbles with historical consistency, and I liked it perfectly well and would watch it again. I do think there are a few stylistic inconsistencies that keep it from being a truly great movie, but it's a *good* movie, and so I encourage folks to disregard the easy snarky disdain of irresponsible critics. The movie follows a picarescque story tradition rather than action-adventure or hero's journey traditions that are most popular today: that choice is consistent with the stylistic era of Lofting's book series.
