You can follow this story and be alerted when new chapters release via. I was unsure if I would ever see you again. It's been far too long, Langley. It has, hasn't it Warspite? All these young girls running around looking tall and buxom and far too voluptuous to be warriors…oh listen to me. I sound even older than I am. You look well, even better than I last saw you in fact! The riding crop really rounds out the outfit. You may be a head and a half shorter than the Knight Commander, but I daresay you'll command the whole room. Stick to marksmanship, Lady Warspite. Your puns leave something to be desired…" Silence prevailed on the bridge of the Langley as Warspite and the Union carrier stared one another down. Slowly their mouths curled into thin smiles and the laughter broke through. The two Great War veterans embraced one another. "How did you find us all the way out here. When word reached us that Denpassar had fallen to the Sakura we prepared for the worst. Langley explained. "Phoenix is a fine warrior, along with her crew, but we would have been no match for their airforce. When no attack came, we made a break for it…we saw the smoke from Surabaya. I see. Warspite replied seriously. "Perhaps we did enough damage they could not pursue you immediately. Either way, this is good. Very good. Phoenix is there now, speaking with this Commander Thorson. Would you mind explaining to me why I'm sharing fleet formations with a Sakura battleship and two destroyers. Langley demanded, walking with Warspite up onto the flight deck as another tropical night fell around Thorson's retreating force. "They are our comrades in arms. Some defected, others were captured, a few are here because they have nowhere else to go. the royal explained. "You'll see when you meet the Knight Commander. He is playing a long game, one targeting the sirens and their malicious intent. Where are we headed. Back to our base. It has well stocked repair facilities and some cube based technology. I'm sure you'll be welcomed if you choose to stay, Langley. In the meantime, I was hoping I might make a request. You may make it. I am not beholden to agree. the Union carrier replied. "Oh don't worry, Langley. You're still a teacher, right. Many of the pilots on the Lexington and Saratoga are pupils of mine. she confirmed. "Some have even graduated to serve with Enterprise. Good. I want you to teach Ark Royal. Warspite laid it out. "Have you ever seen a carrier form her own aircraft before. I…you must be pulling my leg. Langley replied hotly, slapping her riding crop into her palm. "I do not appreciate it. I'm serious, Langley. How do you think one Sakura trashed all of us? These planes you're carrying, the P-40, yes. Yes, and they require far too much runway for a carrier to use them. Langley insisted with authority. "That remains to be seen. Warspite countered, her coattails fluttering gently in the breeze as they looked off the deck at ocean and distant islands. "Have you seen a woman try to fight zeroes with scout aircraft and some torpedo bombers that are a decade old. No, no I have not. The conversation was interrupted briefly as Sir Raleigh hopped up onto deck with a loud chirp and began bouncing over to Warspite. He'd come from the direction of what used to be the Langley's pigeon coops and had another manjuu in tow. "Welcome back, Sir Raleigh. Did you have a nice time with your friends. Warspite asked, taking the little thing into her hands and setting him atop her hair where he quickly nestled in betwixt her ears. The other manjuu perched itself on Langley's shoulder with her help. "This is Erasmus. He's my favorite of the lot. Maybe when we get back to your base they'll finally want to leave. Once they took up residence they refused to be moved. Langley lamented. "In any case, what do you want me to do for your carrier, Warspite. I will do what I can but she's not a pilot. No, Langley. She's the pilot. Give her one of your planes, please. Help her understand it, nose to tail. The Knight Commander believes all carriers can project their own aircraft if their minds are sharp and wills are strong. Imagine the advantage she could possess if she were taught a fighter that no normal carrier could launch. Warspite pleaded. Langley crossed her arms over her chest, her exposed midriff caressed by the salt breeze. "How long until we reach your base. At least ten days at this rate, possibly two weeks. The royal guessed. "Well, it's not like I have anything better to do, and it's preferable to being at the bottom of the ocean. What do you say, Erasmus? Shall we take on a new pupil. Juuu. Juuuuuu~ Sir Raleigh replied animatedly. The two shipgirls, experienced far beyond their appearances, chuckled quietly. "Can I offer you tea aboard the Warspite? Your crew can carry on, yes. Of course. Can Ark Royal travel here. She can. Warspite confirmed. "I keep forgetting most of the Union still has no rigging. Langley stared at her contemplatively. "We never needed it…until it was too late. He's fixing that problem. Your faith in such a youngster is surprising, Warspite. He has earned it, for now. Loss shows you the character of a man. His is youthful but resilient. she related. "I see. I'm sure I will speak with him at some point. For now tea sounds wonderful, and perhaps you can introduce me to Ark. If she is to be my pupil I believe it would be best for us to become casually acquainted. Always prim and proper, aren't you Langley? Belfast's invitation still stands you know. I will die before wearing one of those silly maid outfits. Keep your rigging, my friend. Come Erasmus! We have been invited to tea by a royal knight. Juuu. The next morning, Langley and her new pupil met on her flight deck. "Good morning, Ark. You didn't have any trouble on your way. Langley asked, awaiting her student with a stern look on her face. She had to tilt her head up to meet Ark's gaze, but she was used to that. The royal carrier shrugged and rested a hand on her pistol. "Nothing a hard glare and my rigging couldn't handle. Rowdy bunch, your crew. I think you'll find that's rather universal in the Union. But I'm glad you used a firm hand with them. In any case, let them remain beneath deck. This is your classroom now. Langley insisted, gesturing to a large tarp behind her on the flight deck. A toolbox rested just to the side. "Our captains have spoken on the matter. Before we begin though, I must admit I am curious…" Ark Royal held out a hand with a knowing smirk on her lips. A tiny Fulmar rested there, taking off to make a couple circuits around Langley's head before returning to her and dissolving. Langley's eyes were wide and excited. "Now I understand why Warspite was so insistent that I bring one of these out of storage. If you aren't limited by the length of a runway…oh yes, that should work. But you'll have to be taught the maneuvers as well. Perhaps we should not get ahead of ourselves? I've never even seen a P-40 before. Ark suggested. Erasmus the manjuu was not happy at his master getting cut off. "Juu. Now now, Erasmus. She has a point. Langley gently scolded him. "Why don't you go play with all your friends. Ju. came the steadfast refusal. "My constant companion. Langley sighed affectionately. "Let's get started then. She grabbed the tarp and pulled, revealing a fixed wing fighter complete with six. 50 caliber machine guns, a 500 pound bomb, and the most dashing paint job Ark had ever seen. The body of the plane was bold, Union green. The propeller cap was bright red, and the front of the body featured a vicious looking mouth full of sharp teeth, perhaps a shark or tiger. Ark breathed out a 'wow' and approached it, running her fingers gently along the metal, warm from the tropical sun. Langley remained at her side as they made a circuit around the aircraft. "It's not got the maneuverability of the zero, but it's durable, reliable, well-armed, and versatile. If you can somehow devise a way to reliably kill those mosquitos, Sakura bombers won't stand a chance. It'll be difficult getting one of these things off the ground given my flight deck, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it happen. Just need to add some momentum. Ark mused. "I was a bit nervous, to be honest. Swordfish and Fulmars are all I've ever known…but now. The cubes want what they want. Langley agreed, coming hauntingly close to echoing sentiments that Vampire had shared with Ark a couple days before. She was brought back to reality by a swat of Langley's crop on the back of her palm. She didn't jump or cry out. "Hey, are you paying attention. Yes of course, sorry. Ark murmured. "Where should we start. I hope you've got a good launderer on your ship or a spare coat. Let's tackle the engine first. The days will go by before you know it. Yes ma'am. Ark agreed, knowing that Langley was, despite her stature, an elder and experienced carrier. The mint haired Union girl smiled back. "Hmm, very good. Now let's open this baby up. Ark shed her jacket and plucked through the toolbox while Langley began discussing the P-40. "This aircraft has seen combat since June of last year, primarily against the Ironblood. It lacks a two speed supercharger, so don't expect it to perform at high altitudes. Down here though, in the Pacific, it can be a workhorse. Maybe I'll add one of those in someday. Ark suggested flippantly, beginning on the first of many bolts and rivets. "Why don't you learn the shear force necessary to tear a wing off first before you go about supercharging the engines. Langley suggested, grabbing a handful of tools herself a
Hinako is a surfer, Minato is a firefighter. Both about 20 and they fall in love. Everything is ridiculously perfect, but one day Minato drowns while trying to save someone from the ocean.
Hinako, understandably takes it pretty bad, but to her surprise, whenever she starts singing their favorite song, Minato's spirit appears in the closest body of water - be it a stream, the ocean, or a bottle of mineral water. The whole story is really about Hinako, Minato's friends and family, and how they slowly but finally learn to "let go. Of course, it's magical-realism, so in the end we get to witness some crazy action as well, where we surf down a skyscraper with our protagonists. Unfortunately, this is not the most original story, the characters are a little two dimensional, and the filmmaking could've been a little braver. It's fine though, the film looks really nice, colorful with constantly glowing orange hues and cool blues. The action looks fantastic as well and the environments feel very "lived in" and detailed. Seeing it on a big screen really adds to the experience. It is also paced well, has some pretty funny moments, as well as a couple of quite moving ones. Recommended if you manage to catch it screening somewhere, but not an essential viewing. There. Really not much else to say about it, but seeing the only other user review for this title is from someone who clearly has no idea what he's talking about, I wanted to add my two cents.

Invent Animate - Cloud Cascade It was one of the biggest controversies of 2019, but in the end, the comma is dead. What isnt dead however is this communitys support for Texas band Invent Animate, who returned in 2019 with a new singer and new song, Cloud Cascade. This track features the trademark djent styling of old Invent Animate while showing progression with their new vocalist, and was your #10 track for 2019. 9. Knocked Loose - Mistakes Like Fractures Metallic hardcore is gaining a foothold in the metalcore world, and no band is more at the forefront of that than Kentuckys Knocked Loose. Cuts from their excellent second record A Different Shade Of Blue were littered throughout the countdown, but your favourite was this belter, coming in at #9. 8. Thornhill - Where We Go When We Die 2019 brought the debut album of Melbournians Thornhill, and what a debut it was. Quickly establishing themselves as one of the brightest up and comers of the Australian scene, The Dark Pool went a long way towards a lot of peoples album of the year. Album closer Where We Go When We Die has all the hallmarks that made The Dark Pool such a success; brutal heaviness, delicate interludes, and the diverse singing of frontman Jacob Charlton combining together for one brilliant song. 7. Make Them Suffer - Hollowed Heart Coming in at #7 was a return to a more brutal sound for Perth crew Make Them Suffer, whos unflinching take on domestic abuse struck at the hearts of many listeners. Trading the delicate atmospherics for a more abrasive assault, Hollowed Heart tickled the fancy of those wanting a more Neverbloom sounding MTS track while continuing the bands progression towards the upper echelons of the genre. 6. Currents - Poverty Of Self Another year, and another Currents track riding a wave of success into the top 10 of the countdown. Following two sterling releases in the past two years, the band makes it three from three this year with crushing tune Poverty Of Self, which harks back to the bands heaver, deathcore-leaning roots. 5. Periphery - Reptile Coming in at over 16 minutes long, the opening track from D. C. natives Peripherys sixth record is by far the longest track to ever make the countdown. An epic tale of one mans attempt to thwart the lizard invasion, Reptile shows off everything the band has to offer across the epic journey, from the bands more progressive and experimental leanings to the incredible diversity and range of vocalist Spencer Soleto. 4. Northlane - Talking Heads Northlanes fifth record Alien was a watershed moment for the band, showcasing a new, confident sound that had many pointing towards it as the record of the year. One of the earlier tracks we heard from it all was Talking Heads, a song harking back to the heaving metalcore of records past while still experimenting with the bands new sound. Featuring perhaps the heaviest ending to any of the songs in this list and one of Marcus Bridges best heavy vocal performances, Talking Heads was your #4 song of 2019. 3. Erra - Eye Of God After the success of last years release Neon, Erra followed it up with an instant crowd-pleaser in Eye Of God, which you all voted into the third spot in the countdown. Eye Of God showcases the musicianship, technicality and catchiness that has made Erra a staple of the metalcore scene, and got your nod as the #3 track of 2019. 2. Northlane - 4D With 4D, Northlane hold no fear of being different, combining a more electronic style with Marcus soaring vocals to create a track like none theyd made before. The bands ability to make a song so differently heavy while maintaining the metalcore essence of the band was key in making Alien such a success, and while not a typical metalcore song, 4D struck such a chord with voters that it made it all the way up to #2 in the list. 1. Masochist - Polaris Very few bands have made as much of a splash in recent years as Sydneys Polaris. An excellent debut record in 2017 was followed up this year with Masochist, the first single off their soon to be released sophomore record, The Death Of Me. On Masochist, the band lay themselves bare and uncover their vulnerabilities, asking the tough question of ‘am I responsible for my own negativity. in the process creating one of the most relatable and catchy choruses of the year. With a brand new album out late February, Im sure well see a lot more of Polaris in next years count, but for now their song Masochist has been crowned your #1 song of 2019. What a great list, and what an amazing year of metalcore it was! A big congrats to Polaris and all the other bands who made it into the top 10, and the countdown as a whole as well. Here are a few little tidbits to conclude the count. It was the third consecutive year a single off a yet to be released album has topped the list, though Polaris are the first band to do so without a band name starting with the letter ‘A. This was the closest count yet, with only six votes between #1 and #3, and fourteen votes between the top five who all tussled it out for spots. Interestingly, Masochist polled only the third most ‘1 votes, making it the first #1 song to not poll the most ‘1 votes. Reptile at #5 had more ‘1 votes than any other song, and nearly half of all its votes were ‘1 at that, so clearly the people who liked this song, loved this song. Northlane placing at #2 and #4 is the best two-song positioning of any band in the counts history, beating Ice Nine Kills placings of #2 and #5 last year (INK still hold the best three-song count however, being the only band to have three songs place in a top 10. This was the third consecutive year Currents had a song place in the top 10, with Poverty Of Self coming in at #6 following placings of #3 in 2018 and #5 in 2017. Only four other bands have placed in each of the three countdowns so far: Northlane ( 28 in 2017, 20 in 2018, and #2 in 2019) Make Them Suffer ( 10, 45, 7) Counterparts ( 11, 37, 12) and While She Sleeps ( 3, 49, 48. Oli Sykes has also appeared in every count courtesy of his feature on While She Sleeps #3 song Silence Speaks in 2017, along with Bring Me The Horizon at #47 and #46 the last two years. Dealers track Pretty Stupid was the unlucky song at #51. Last years winning song, As I Lay Dying's My Own Grave, would have polled at #52 if eligible. There were 29 different bands in this years top 50, a big increase in diversity after only 21 and 20 unique bands in the last two counts respectively. As always, a massive thank you to everyone who voted and has made this what it is, I really enjoy bringing this all together and the positive feedback and engagement from you is truly amazing. Here are the Youtube and Spotify playlists of the Top 50 for your listening pleasure, along with a new addition: the 50 from 50 companion list ( Youtube and Spotify) which has the top fifty songs as voted by you if only one song per artist is eligible (I had to dive pretty deep into the votes to get the full fifty in honesty so I hope you like it. Thanks again, see you all next time! Countdown #1s: 2019: Polaris - Masochist 2018: As I Lay Dying - My Own Grave 2017: Architects - Doomsday.
Kimi to nami ni noretara plot. Kimi to nami ni noretara. I was two years into studying business at college and failing everything miserably when I decided a career in photography was what I really wanted to pursue. I dropped out and applied to a top photography school in Paris and, to my surprise, was accepted with the portfolio I had- I had been shooting only a year up to that point. I think the application to the Parisian school was more a test to see if I was good enough, because there was absolutely no way that I could afford to go (it was about 100k/year with living expenses. I ended up staying home and honing the craft on my own, through heaps of trial and error. I wasn't even sure what kind of photography I wanted to do, but my progression/self-discovery went through landscapes, cityscapes, inanimate objects, and eventually people, which is what I ultimately decided to focus on. So one day I shot this guy who happened to be an agency model. His agent saw the photos and liked them enough to get me to shoot some of his other models. Then other agencies noticed and started booking me. Soon after, magazines, brands, record labels, etc. Things started to happen pretty quickly and at a fairly young age no less. I was riding a wave for a period until I had to leave it behind due to a major tragedy in my life. I thought I'd never shoot again and took two years off. But this past summer I got the itch and went all-in. It was like a day hadn't passed, it was second nature to me, and best of all, people really loved the new work I was releasing, plus my name hadn't been forgotten in the fast paced industry. I guess I can say I work(ed) in the fashion industry, which blows my mind because it's not something I ever envisioned myself doing or directly set out to do. The industry is very good at making you feel special, which it did me for a while. But eventually I learned to see past all the fluff. Agencies saying the right words or asking the right way to get you to test their models for free is just a start. Your shots literally can make a girls career, or at the very least, set her up for an upward trajectory. Yet even after years of doing favours, they (agencies) are still reluctant to throw any money your way for paid tests- it's like pulling healthy teeth, even if they adore your work and know the shots will elevate a models portfolio. Some recent shots I took of a particular model lead directly to her being exclusively cast for the Celine and Valentino shows in Paris, yet her agency even knowing this seems to refuse to give any paid work. They just push for what're called "creatives" where everyone involved collaborates free of charge in order to better their portfolio. But I am 30 and am done with the free shit, unless it's something I want to do and am passionate about + have full control over. My vision is very specific now and doesn't entail shooting new faces for free. Additionally, these "free" shoots ultimately only cost me significant money. transportation, gear use, and not least, expensive studio time- plus of course hours and hours of my time after the fact while editing. I have had great paid gigs- no major campaigns for any truly major global brands, but very respectable stuff nonetheless (i. e. Warner Records, Elle magazine, etc. but the frequency with which they occur is just too seldom. Some jobs will be 10-15k, while others will be 300-500. Most seem to fall in the 1-4k range, which I'd be happy with if they actually were coming my way more often. This is no longer sustainable for me and I have to fold. I don't know what I'll do, especially seeing as I dropped out of school to pursue this. It's very depressing knowing that this skill/talent I've been praised for my whole life isn't worthwhile enough for anyone to pay me. They all love my work, just not enough to fork out any money. I don't get how they can expect me to not only do this for free, but actually at a loss. It's infuriating and I can't stand their fake sweet words anymore. Fuck this. And please, feel free to DM me if you want to see my work and I'll link you my site so that you can see the calibre we're talking about- I'm not some random delusional hack. It's sad that it's come to this, but I see no way out and will be forced to take on some random shitty job. I need to make real money, save, and start a family of my own soon- and none of that can be done keeping this up. Wish I never got into it and that I'd gone the safe route, finishing college, getting a degree, and working a 9-5. Highly unlikely that I'll land a job where I'll have the flexibility to leave should a photo gig come up, so I'm gonna' leave it behind completely. My love for it has perished along with the inability to make a sustainable income.
