First of all I'd like to mention that I've been a Star Wars Fan for all my life and that I've accepted a lot of changes done to the universe but this time they've really crossed a line. Theres way to much wrong with this movie so I tried summing up some of the worst parts. After the Last Jedi I thought it could not get any worse, oh boy was I wrong. Going into the movie I had very little expectations but even those got crushed pretty quick.

Let me start with the plot. Palpatine being alive and well is just totally unbelievable after we saw him falling into his certain death at the second Death Star which exploded into god knows how many pieces shortly after. He calls for Kylo Ren promising him to rebuild the Empire with his so called Last Order, which apparently consists of a couple of hundred star destroyers, all carrying planet-destroying weapons. It is never explained where these ships or the troops operating them come from and everything concerning the Last Order seems just pretty convenient. But that's one of the more acceptable things. The fact that Rey is supposed to be his grand daughter is just plain ridiculousness. I can't explain how unbelievable all this seems when it's revealed. Why did no one seem to know about this in the whole galaxy, especially not the force users? Why did Luke try to kill Ben (Kylo) the son of his best friend and his apprentice, because of a bad vision but not Rey, the total stranger who is supposed to be the next sith leader?Also the overall story progression is just an utter mess. Basically it's every SW movie you've ever watched. Chase after a map and stop evil sith guy from destroying the universe. Of course that was somehow always the plot of SW but since it's not designed in an interesting way there's no use in seeing it again, written even more poorly. Also the connection between Rey and Ben, which is explained pretty vague, doesn't make much sense to me. They're not even related so how come they're closer than Luke and Leia. I mean the can literally teleport objects between each other. Plot wise it's also just confusing. One minute Rey seems to confess to her Jedi side then she's evil again, same with Ben. Since the first movie, which is also really annoying, he constantly switched sides. First we think he's evil because he kills Han, then he saves Rey and kills Snoke, then he tries to kill Luke and so on. Because of that you just loose interest in both of them at some point and only hope that it's over soon so there's a finale to their poor storyline. Another thing that also came to my attention is that he last act was basically just a rip-off from TLJ and Endgame (weirdly enough. For example the fight between Rey and Palpatine is the same as between Luke and Palpatine. Palpatine tries to force them to kill him but first they don't but then he shows him the rebellion losing so they change their mind but the supposed evil guy turns good and somehow sacrifices himself to save the day. Endgame-wise I'm referring to the whole 'Oh everyone came - we're so many suddenly although we were losing' thing and to the thing Rey says in the end which is almost identical to the Iron Man line kn the end. Also where were all these ships when they asked for help in TLJ? In general the whole battle taking place at the end is so predictable and silly it's barely watchable. The other plot twist with General Hux being a spy was to be fair not that predictable but just because it doesn't make sense in any way. He justifies himself by saying he only wants to see Kylo fail but Kylo failing with his evil plan would probably also include the first order getting destroyed so I don't see how that's logical and how he even contacted the rebels and convinced them to trust him in the first place. But Disney doesn't really seem to care about rules and other things established in previous movies anyway. Like in the last movie, everything we know (or at least think we do) about the hyperspace is overthrown in the first couple of minutes. The falcon and several tie's can jump as often as they want in a matter of seconds and suddenly they don't appear to rip objects apart that are in close proximity (like the cruiser in TLJ. The overall power level of force users in this movies is just an absolute mess as well. Rey can literally do anything although she didn't have as much training as a lot of Jedi we already know. She can stop force lightning like it's nothing, use it herself, heal people as she pleases and stop fricking ships in midflight. What also annoyed me is the fact that everyone kept referring to Anakins lightsaber as Luke's lightsaber. A lot of plot devices are just too convenient like the second Death Star lying not completely shredded on some neighbour moon of Endor so that they can go there and just use an old sith knife that miraculously fits the ashes of the space station so Rey can do her thing. A lot of events just seem to happen so the runtime is longer. Sadly this review is already long enough so I have to exclude some points (Leia stuff, Luke's home on Tatooine not being destroyed like in NH, Disney being scared of killing of characters etc. but I think it would be fair to mention that at least the acting is pretty solid in this movie especially from Adam Driver. Another thing that comes to my mind just now is the fact that throughout the whole movie at the end of basically every scene there's some kind of comedic part where some droid or 'funny' space creature does something funny. Yes, when r2, bb8, ewoks or other did. this back then it was funny because it was well placed, not overused and something different. Now it seems to be used as marketing gag since even porgs get recycled but it's really just getting annoying. Also the de-aging looked really off in this movie as well as some cgi aliens and Palpatine himself. Let us all pray that they finally end this saga since not even George Lucas could save the mess Disney has created.
