So I started my Gaming lifestyle back in 1993 with Sonic on the mega drive and tried to stick with it to present day, (I didn’t buy forces and watched the game movie instead. ) And something I noticed in the more modern game is that every time we see any character development from one character, Sega or sonic team snap the infinity gauntlet and that characters personality snaps back to the status quo. So yes, the pink hedgehog was established as Sonic’s starker/ kidnap bait / damsel in distress back in sonic CD. However, looking at the more 3d game starting with sonic Adventure, throughout that entire story arc for Amy we see that she becomes independent, slowly on the way to becoming an adventurer. In sonic Adventure 2 she’s actually the one to convince Shadow to save the world (with Maria’s memories helping. ) and in Sonic Heros she’s actually a competent runner and has her own team, yes she’s chasing after sonic but she’s gone from damsel to hero. Sonic riders has a fun moment were we see her not taking Sonic’s BS and actually keeping up with him in terms of running speed. In zero gravity while she starts out as needing help, you actually get to play as her in the story and she’s not a side character but a 4th member of team sonic. I genuinely wonder where sonic team will take this now slightly less annoying side… AND SNAP 06, Amy has been returned to the damsel / side character roll, her speed is gone, she needs to use invisibility to stealth kill robots, and she’s been tossed to the side as Sonic’s potential love interest… by a human. In unleashed we see small bits of dialog that show a chance that she might be more than the status quo as she actually turns out to be excepting of Sonic’s werehog form. I can’t speak for sonic Colours as Sonic and the seven rings turned me off Sonic games with motion controls however in generations we actually see her berate and KO knuckles… without the hammer. So what’s next. Well Sega fitted on the old infinity gauntlet in time for lost Hex were they changed voice actors and put Amy as the damsel in distress, again. Seeing the status quo again it moved on to forces were she stays as a side character but is acting as the second in command of the resistance. While I didn’t play this game I watched the story on you tube and thought to myself that “ow hay, she’s actually doing something other than chasing sonic. How long with this last, SAGA TEAM. ” I know that though out all the games I’ve mentioned she’s still sonic obsessed and acting like a starker and somewhat annoying, but seeing how I’ve played enough games to see her grow as a character only to get hit by the status quo hammer while others ride it out scot free. It feels like Sega team either don’t know what to do with Amy, or there nailing her as the princess peach of the sonic franchise. As I stated earlier I didn’t play sonic Forces as my faith in Sonic team to deliver a product that could stand up to the quality I expected was low and it turns out well founded, instead I got sonic mania, a game I thoroughly enjoyed and I had to take a double take when I saw this. I knew sonic mania plus was coming out and the idea of Amy Rose being a sixth character was a good one, however it was a fan creation and I knew better, the idea of Sega Team allowing that… yeah not going to happen. Which is a shame as there are many mods out there with a playable Amy Rose in several games. When ever I see the mods most of the time I think to myself how much effort and time must have gone in them to do this. Sadly, the status quo seems to go beyond the games as well, any media that isn’t fan content seems to get the same status quo growth reset on a very aggressive basis. And those that don’t end up getting cancelled. As I mentioned I grew up with sonic. That meant I purchased the fleet way comics growing up. In sonic the comic Amy seemed to be a level headed female counterpart to sonic that I enjoyed reading, I mean, she had a crossbow. While there were times she was annoying she was also just as much a part of the freedom fighters of that world as sonic was. In the Archie series we saw growth as a character throughout, until the genesis resets. Yes there were multiple. In fact the only media recently that wasn’t the status quo Amy Rose was Sonic Boom. I don’t know why but, I just feel that the character is one of the most underdeveloped sonic characters and she’s one of the original genesis 4. Anyway this is just an observation of one of the characters I grew up with, she’s not my favourite characters but she is one of the one’s I enjoy seeing growth of. The IDW series started a while ago and it’s been a fun read with her as the resistance leader and the crap she’s been dealing with.

Many of you might know me as Eternal Oblivion in the game. Even my family members received messages about it and I figured why not answer your questions here instead. It will make the whole thing a lot easier for me and my relatives, thanks! I will answer some of the most frequently asked questions first. Q: What happened to Eternal Oblivion? / Why did you quit? A: Once I was close to finishing my final exams in university, I decided to move on from the game and started looking for job opportunities. Regardless of how fun Tibia was, it would not pay my bills. This was sometime in 2006 and I handed over the account completely to my room mate at the time (who I had frequently shared the account with). I never played it ever since. However, I will occasionally visit the Tibia and TibiaBR forums. I also watch a few Tibia videos every now and then on YouTube. I'm not browsing around on social media that much. Q: Do you have a horned helmet? / How did you get a horned helmet? A: Well, since I haven't played the game since 2006... no, I don't have a horned helmet. A: Lots of spare time and lots of anime. With high skills, the game becomes easier and much more fun. So I figured the way to get successful is to train. It would save me a lot of time and money. Whenever I was in my dorm room, I'd always be on Tibia. Whether I was studying, chatting, cooking, watching anime, doing my laundry, hanging out with friends. I would always make sure I was logged in and training. It became a habit after a while. Usually my room mate would be logged in as well to summon monks for me. And if I wasn't home, he would be skilling it for me. To get the levels, all I did was grind endlessly for hours in a row. I mainly hunted dwarf guards and dragons. Q: Did you use bot? / Did you cheat? A: I have never used any tasker or cheat tool. I did occasionally share my account with my siblings and my room mate though. I enjoyed playing the game a lot, that was the reason I signed up for it. So using some type of bot would not make much sense for me. But the long hours of training can be boring after a while, so when my friends and family asked to help me with that, I wouldn't say no to sharing the account for a while. There were always random PK's running around, which could be a bit annoying, especially at times when I had a lot of exams coming up. I'd rather put my time into studying than chasing people around. Q: How did you find out about Tibia? A: I don't remember when I first heard about the game, but I know one of my close friends showed me the game during a summer break. This was before Eternal Oblivion was created. I think it was in 2002 and I remember my character name was Knuckles Chaotix (inspired by the Sonic The Hedgehog game). Q: What is your favorite memory of the game? A: I have many good memories from the game. I've made a lot of friends in the game and still talk to them occasionally. But if I had to pick a single memory, it would have to be when I reached 110/110 skills. I had been training for months in a row and I remember sitting up late in the morning (probably around 5 AM) and just begging in front of the screen to finally get the last 1% on my skill bar. I loved setting up goals in the game, it gave me a purpose to continue playing and I wanted to see how far I could push myself. Reaching 100/100 was not too difficult, but reaching 110/110 was something big. That meant you really took training seriously. Q: Do you have any screenshots/recordings from that time? A: I still have an old external drive at my parents' place with a lot of screenshots, but last time I tried to access it the computer refused to recognize it as a drive. It's an old Western Digital drive. I tried buying a new adapter for it as well but that didn't work either. Other than that, no, I don't have anything else saved. I've changed computers probably five times since then. I'll leave this post here and will get back to you in the morning. The bed is calling. Update 1: I found a bunch of images and cams from 2004-2006 on a usb. Here's just a couple of them. PK'ing a guy that had a price on his head and also double-loot in a Dragon, all within 20 minutes.
