Brilliant. This was a fantastic film. On a similar level to Jodha Akbar. Firstly Ashutosh Gowariker is back with a bang! His direction is amazing. It is clear that the film is well researched and detailed. Yes the film is long but it was necessary to develop the characters, story and explain a lot of things that happened. Although having said that certain things could have been removed/ edited.

From an acting perspective Sanjay Dutt was really menacing in his role and well suited. However I felt that Arjun Kapoor was excellent. Unfortunately he has (unfairly) had a lot of bad press recently but he really played this role well and did not deliver an over the top silly performance. He was balanced in his approach and looked and acted the part of a warrior. He almost underplayed it in purpose. This is definitely Arjun's best role to date and he did a fine job! Some people are complaining about how it has shown the Marathas as too brave etc. Firstly the Marathas were brave and secondly the story is one about bravery so why would you show it any other way. Please read your history! Please don't listen to the unfair biased negative reviews of the film and against Arjun. Watch the film and decide for yourself. Although Kriti Sanon looked beautiful I felt she was miscast in this role. She just looked way to modern to be in this period flick. Padmani Kholapure was good but could have had a bigger role. Manish Bahl was also very good. Overall this is a must watch film and a good way (for children) to learn about some of the history and about betrayal. Some of these themes are still relevant today about how the hunger for power and greed and revenge can make us do stupid things and how betrayal can have long lasting and widespread implications. The cinematography was brilliant and the war sequences are really well mounted and executed mixing special affects and real fight scenes. These are top notch and probably the best we have seen for a period film. Only a master filmmaker like Ashutosh could have pulled this off. If you enjoyed Lagaan, Jodha Akbar, Bajirao Mastani and Padmavat then you will love this. Excellent film.

Must watch movie! Mann Mein Shiva is my favourite. Some films are made for mere business and some for entertaining classes this is a perfect blend of both along with an important chapter in Indian history it gives you goosebumps on the right places watch out for Arjun he has given it a good take and Sanjay Dutt as Abdali has made it seem effortless! The remaining cast have all handles their scenes well.
