The originals have the best story, the prequels have the best battles and characters, the new trilogy has the best special effects but that's about it. I really enjoyed episodes 3,4,5,6 and 7. 1,2 and 9 were decent and I dont really talk about 8, Leia's force powers, anakin and his sand or jar jar binks.

That being said every single star wars movie is fun and has its moments. I do not feel though that this was a fitting ending to the saga and that really sucks, with all the plots abandoned and characters development ending, just like seaosn 8 of game of thrones. My biggest issues are 1. Rey is a palpatine, I had to laugh in the middle of the movie. Just doesnt make sense, hes a big bad with lord obsessed with power, he has enough on his plate. 2. Rise of the Skywalker? Who? Rey? Shes not a Skywalker, Ben is a hero for 5 minutes and dies 3. That kiss 4. The kids from the last jedi with force power are forgotten 5. Is han solo a force ghost? 6. Why didnt anakin/Vader redeem Ben Skywalker? Would have been the most fitting 7. I dont feel the trial and growth in any of the characters, the performances are fine, but they arent written with growth and development, this is the staple of star wars. My last note is that the 3 movies do not feel connected, I feel each new movie replaces or abandoned plots from the previous one. Force awakens was an exciting breath of fresh air and then the last jedi and rise of Skywalker tore this apart. Maybe the directors were just competing with each other for who's movie is the best. The visuals and sounds are impressive. The actors are solid choices but the easy button is used to often. C3po has memory wiped? Theres a backup. Chewbacca is blown up? Nope hes fine. Ben Skywalker's falls to his death? Crawls back out. Force lightening getting you down? Try 2 lightsabers. Rey's dead? Bring her back. Ben's dead? Too bad. Also the whole movie feels like fetch quests from video games. I wanted to love this movie so bad, but take it for what it is, a fun movie with m.j o real purpose or resolution.

I can't stand the state of the fandom right now. WE DON'T HAVE TO APOLOGISE FOR LIKING WHAT WE LOVE, I accept that all of the movies have their flaws and their awesome stuff. I don't like that the fandom (at least on the internet) Is in this cynical state where everything new is automatically BAD and if you don't follow that trend, the people get angry, why can't everyone just accept that we have different opinions? I can't wait to see the final Episode of Star Wars, and I'm glad that a lot (like. a friking lot) of people share this feeling.
