directed by: Destin Daniel Cretton Writer: Andrew Lanham Chris I have to disagree with you, I agree with every review you have posted but this film is probably a rare gem you come across once in a decade. The emotion in this movie is so strong without trying too hard. top ten for me! Still love you Chris.
The music and dialogue in this trailer already made me cry man ???. Our penal system is an abysmal failure on every level. From the courts to the prison to the fact that a former felon cant get a job or a home and they wonder why so many reoffend. Maybe a different director could have saved this movie. The story is interesting, the acting is good but the pace is so slow. By the time the courtroom scenes happen my husband was completely checked out. There is never any real dramatic music or quicker paced scenes... everything is pretty monotone, with bland scenery and really boring wardrobe. I would have liked someone to have a personality, a little humor, interesting ything. It's unfortunate because the last 10 minutes are the highlight of the film but most probably won't make it to the end.
The word Jojo: Exists The Jojo community: Nice place. Hes gained some weight. Synopsis Every generation has its hero. Meet ours. The powerful true story of Harvard-educated lawyer Bryan Stevenson, who goes to Alabama to defend the disenfranchised and wrongly condemned ? including Walter McMillian, a man sentenced to death despite evidence proving his innocence. Bryan fights tirelessly for Walter with the system stacked against them. HERE 2019 list - Click? HERE Maybe I’m just a sucker for a good, heartfelt, and feel-good story (if it’s handled well). This film will not be winning awards anytime soon, but sometimes a movie doesn’t have to be built for that. They may believe they deserve an award, but it just isn’t going to happen. Nevertheless, Just Mercy did exactly what it was created to do, and that is to tell this story in a (hopefully) true and authentic way. Destin Daniel Cretton showed such promise with Short Term 12. No film from him since has captured that magic, but this does what it intends to do. Is it cliché? Absolutely, and it’s also one of… tbh the trailers for this did the film a huge disservice and made it look a lot more corny and bland than it ended up being so i was pleasantly surprised! "It's not my job to make people happy, it's my job to get justice for my client" - Bryan Stevenson, Good for him... but, I wish that this film did more and felt more current. Not a recommend. Recent reviews emotional and infuriating I want to applaud this movie for highlighting the racism in our criminal justice system while also steering away from white savior tropes but maybe that’s just because that’s how the true story goes? either way, I’m glad this movie was made I was gonna give this four stars, but then I thought, You know what, that five star option is there for a reason. What can I say? The movie had me entranced. Important subject matter, mesmerizing visuals, and powerful acting all around. Michael B. Jordan is an absolute beast and I think he doesn’t get the credit for his performances that he deserves; I think there’s a lot going on beneath the surface, and there’s this fantastic, intangible charisma to him that is electrifying. It’s a moving film. Heavy though. It makes me appreciate drama, and also appreciate how much can happen in that space of 100 minutes or so. There’s so much that can be accomplished within this timeframe, so a show on HBO et al. isn’t always necessary. Luta Por Justiça é um drama jurídico que não reinventa o gênero, mas vale por nos lembrar da presença pervasiva do racismo e pelo trabalho de Michael B. Jordan e Jamie Foxx. Texto completo: feeling rly cynical after watching this plus "the discreet charm of the bourgeoise" in the same day "We witcha! " Michael B. Jordan is fresh out of Harvard law school and has set his sights on opening up a firm in Alabama for people who can't afford proper legal representation. Brie Larson is one of the locals that comes to work for him and helps him get settled in. After unpacking, he immediately travels to the state prison to meet the death row inmates and comes across several of them that appear to have been sentenced without any hard evidence because they were African American. One case in particular that catches his eye is Jamie Foxx, who was convicted three years earlier for murdering a white woman, based off the false testimony of a convicted felon. A little bit on-the-nose and too long... It's not a bad movie, but neither a special one or one you will remember.. The film plays out in big broad obvious strokes that we have seen many times before, but the reason we’ve seen them before is because they work, and I have to admit they work this time too. I did succumb to the emotional drama of the film and was sucked in. I could’ve done without the choral music, it was a little too on the nose for me and sometimes made me cringe a little, but the performances across the board are good and it’s a story that deserves to be told. The final coda is both startling and brought me to tears. In short, miscarriages of justice are terrible things that need to be corrected, and racism is utterly abhorrent and needs to be stamped out wherever it is seen. I gained as much from Bryan Stevenson's powerful 10 minute TIFF screening introduction as I did from the 2 hour+ movie itself.
His character was void of nuance, overcame no personal obstacle, and experienced no true arc or transformation. Even Jesus Christ faced temptation in the desert. Stevenson being a perfect inspirational hero at every turn makes this narrative hard to connect with below the surface. The well-intentioned message here works as a visual companion to one of his TED talks, but not as compelling cinema.
Ellen's a conversational genius that's why she could do that. Wauw. speechless... Oh no, thirsty girls twitter bout to be revived... Thats about what I expected to hear. Whos watching this after raising. Dion Thanks for this much of likes ????.

Facial tick at the word father. 2:32. People underestimate the strength and power that we, as black men and women, have. We endure so much as a people and will continue to persevere through it all. ??????. Love both these actors and can't wait to see this movie Blessings to you both keep bringing it to the screens. When men are shocked they are so chill! I would have been screaming and touching his body. I would have expected a better laugh from the audience when he said “This Shot Is Called Kick in the raspberries” like they where even hairy. Wonder if the HBO renewal deal is stalling production (apparently deal ends in the middle of next year). If AT&T decides to focus more on HBO originals, then Sesame Workshop could take Sesame Street to other network groups that have wider distribution through basic cable channels. I think more families have Disney Junior or Nick Jr than HBO so Sesame Street could be on either of those channels alongside PBS. And I do remember that the Jim Henson Company was still planning a Fraggle Rock film with Fox, who had the Sesame Street film rights before Warner Bros. got them through the HBO relationship. Could see Disney co-producing with Henson and Sesame Workshop on these two with a new Muppet film reboot included.
