Săn M?i Đáy Bi?n Popular reviews More A shallow but satisfying creature feature that splits the difference between classic disaster movies and Lovecraftian horror, William Eubank’s “Underwater” is a film out of its time. For one thing, it was shot almost three years ago, back when bonafide disaster artist T. J. Miller was still vaguely cast-able (i. e. before he became so toxic that Mucinex fired him as the company’s spokes-snot). For another, it’s an expensive, original, multiplex-ready B-movie in an era when virtually anything with an $80 million budget has to be about superheroes or new subscribers. In fact, the project’s anachronistic nature is so pronounced that even its profoundly screwed characters can sense it bubbling up around them. “Underwater” is gasping for air from the moment it… I went to see and enjoyed a movie that has T. Miller in it. that’s the power that Kristen Stewart has. I knew nothing about this going in. It was a really fun one. We need more of these mid budget 90 minute, daft bits of fun at the cinema these days. It’s not great but it’s really entertaining with an interesting eclectic cast. The run time flew by. The effects were ok although the heavy cg bits were very cg-y! Kristen Stewart was actually really good in this and she makes for a good action star. Well worth a watch. 20th Century Fox. It’s deliciously tense and atmospheric with tremendous camerawork that allows the film to breathe in all its density. Kristen Stewart is ONCE AGAIN outstanding with terrific range on show. The only slight issue is the films own lore. It just begins out of nowhere and ends without any real interest in exploration. Made the more confusing is how the film still alludes to the world but it’s so surface level it makes zero impact. 78 CLAPPER IS ON THE RISE. PRESS ACCREDITATION FOR FOUR FILM FESTIVALS. PITCH YOUR WORK AND BE A PART OF SOMETHING HERE "Dude... have you heard anything? " Judging from the trailer, it didn't seem like the film had a clear narrative. It's like Gravity, only it's underwater and they added a bunch more people. Just watch The Poseidon Adventure (1972) instead! My favorite character was Ally Lucien, daughter of Captain Lucien (Vincent Cassel), mentioned only in passing and not even present. There were some cool scenes and ideas, but they were few and scattered throughout and not really worth it in the end. Underwater ?gets the score of: | ? 41% ?| It’s the best movie of 2020 I guess. Recent reviews Monster swallows protagonist An okay movie that had the potential to be great and if done correctly can become the next alien-esq movie series This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth. This was my first horror film of 2020. Mainly wanted to see this because of Kristen Stewart. I love when a film's runtime is under 100 minutes, this was only 95 minutes. This was quite intense. Kristen's performance was spectacular! The sea creature design was excellent. The film is in constant darkness which helps the CG aliens appear a lot more real and present. I was happy the opening shot was a close-up of Kristen. The first half of the film was probably the most scary. It's once they started showing the creatures more frequently during the second half that it just turns into some sort of sci-fi action film, which is still okay, that's a good thing even though… Just a mediocre horror movie set underwater. What keeps me from hating the movie is that the acting is good from almost everyone, the cinematography is fine, and sometimes it can be pretty suspenseful. Too bad that the story is boring as hell and is just trying to be Alien again. Not only that but some of the scenes are so dark you can't see what's going on and T. Miller's character is pretty bad because he's just the comic relief and most of his humor did not work. I could only recommend this movie if you're a fan of these types of films set underwater with a giant monster because there's nothing really else about this movie to make it stand out. An alien wannabe, icky trash The best way to watch this film would be to watch Alien instead, but put this film’s soundtrack on. The soundtrack is really bloody good. Some teenagers were taking photos with the flash on during the film. I told them to turn their fucking phones off, they told me not to cry about it... I had no response, so I did cry about it.
