On a daily basis of course it's best to CC but not when you're making a point. The theaters in question are still closed. But the producers of "Phoenix, Oregon" decided to split their revenue from their on-demand streams of the movie 50-50 with the theaters that would've played the movie had it came out this weekend, in order to help keep those theaters afloat. When you buy the on-demand stream on their site, you get to choose which theater to support. Because the revenue still goes to those theaters, it counts as ticket sales, therefore "Phoenix, Oregon" not only hit #1 for this recent weekend, but breaks an all-time record at the US box office (for being the lowest grossing #1 movie)!

No chase scenes or special effects, just a good plot, great character actors, and an interesting setting. The movie offers a believable story, a message that is not trite, and more than a few good laughs along the way. I suspect we will hear much more about this movie as it gets exposure, but go and see it as soon as you get a chance.

Got to catch Phoenix, Oregon when it screened in SF recently. What a delightful movie. The acting is great, the storyline is heart-felt without being too sentimental, and there are a cast of unexpected characters that are funny and believable. Go see it in theatre or catch it when it comes to Netflix.
