Unrevised?and unpolished. Please be kind when you spot grammatical errors and typos. I've finished the rough draft of this story, which is the first in a six-book series, and I'm working on the second book currently. Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three. Grimhilt shifted through a pile of reports from his scouts, rubbing his forehead. His lamp guttered and went out?how long had he been up? A glance out the window led to a resigned sigh. Dawn would arrive in another hour, and he was scheduled to train a contingent of new recruits at the armory. He trimmed the wick, added more oil, and polished the buildup of soot off the inside of the glass. Another few reports, then hed fill his water clock up to the twenty-minute mark and get a few ragged moments of sleep. Errols message weighed on his mind. Someone knew about Indaras plans?knew the purpose of the mission, the members of the team, the route theyd take. That worried him more than hed let on to Indara during his security briefing. He tapped his fingers on the desk, looking for a pattern that, so far, didnt exist. An old instructor had once told him to be wary of patterns he only found when hed looked long enough?usually it was desperation playing tricks. Right about now, desperation looked mighty tempting. They needed answers, and if he had to crack a few of the wrong skulls before he got to the right answers, then he certainly didnt mind. Might do the body some good, in fact. Hed called in every favor with Donalon to get access to his spy network. Apparently, the stunt hed pulled to give the inspector access to Indaras team hadnt been enough on its own to curry favor, but Grimhilt didnt care if he was on the losing end of the bargain; he just needed the information. He promised the man anything he wanted in exchange for help. He shoved aside the stack of papers. Nothing useful. Just a bunch of rumors: A sect who worshiped an ancient storm god had tried to derail the hunters; Tinashe operatives were undermining the government; Indaras old housekeeper stole state secrets because she talked in her sleep. Grimhilt snorted and tore up that report, shaking his head. Better for him not to risk her ire by implicating her nanny. Two more reports went into the discard pile before he found a credible lead. One of the city guards had worked for the warden at the Imperial jail for a few years before transferring out to patrol duty, and he thought he recognized one of the spearmen in the attack. Theyd need to confirm with the warden, but it sounded promising. The man was apparently a lowlife thug from Dockside who had also been employed by the warden a few years back as a prison guard. They had fired him when he was caught taking bribes from some of the prisoners. Grimhilt would have to visit the jail and ask which area the guard had patrolled. Most of the inmates didnt have the money?or the reputation?to pull off this kind of coordinated attack, and the ones who did were probably already rotting down at the bottom of the bay, courtesy of the execution squad. Grimhilt stood up and knuckled his back, then stretched his arms to either side, sighing at each crackle and pop. He was getting too old to sit still for so long. Retirement was still a few decades off, but the pressures of his station made him feel like a rag wrung dry. Maybe he'd take a leave of absence after this Bridge business wrapped up. Soon. A few more weeks and he could plug up any holes Donalon might find, declare success, and go back to the mundane tasks of keeping the peace. Grimhilt chuckled. Stabbing and petty theft was starting to sound pretty good right now compared with political wrangling and evil storms. And, while Indara was most concerned about the Bridge and the disturbing research they had uncovered about the Stormorb, Grimhilt would rather fight a battle than deal with politicians, even if the opponent was an ancient evil he had no hope of defeating?which, coincidentally, was exactly how he described politics. His eyelids drooped, threatening to close for the day. He rubbed at his eyes. They felt gritty and swollen with the night's work. His recruits would keep their mouths shut, but he could already imagine the jokes about red-eyed ol Grimhilt, not to mention the wagers that would fly about which activities kept him so exhausted all the time. Maybe he should bribe someone on the inside to set the odds so that he could clean up the bets. New recruits invariably lacked the belief that he had once been in their boots; in their minds he was simply an institution of the Empire. An Imperial fixture. He pushed away from the workstation and reached for his oiled cloak. Rain wouldnt stop him from a quick walk to clear his mind. He felt like a street performer with too many clubs up in the air, and chances were good hed drop them all if he didnt take some time to organize his thoughts. He rubbed his head. I need to learn to come up with better metaphors. The heavy rain cleared out the usual street urchins. Usually they kept an eye out for any suspicious activity and reported to Cedric, a “newspaper man, ” or so hed heard from Inspector Donalon. Grimhilt hadnt read the paper, but hed heard that the newfangled thing was becoming quite popular among the nobility. That give him all the information he needed to know about the value of the newspaper business, but if Donalon found Cedric useful, then maybe he could, too. He trudged through puddles already ankle-deep, sloshing against the cobblestones. This storm was a bit of a letdown. Clouds had brooded all day and all night, but no thunder or winds accompanied the rain. Feels right, somehow. Matches my disappointment. Nights like these, he couldnt even take out his aggression on a rowdy group of drunks. He passed through empty vendor stalls in Selinsgrove Market, heading South from his quarters in Bellefontaine. He couldnt afford to stay in Breeland, closer to Indara, and when hed suggested finding housing in the City Center, shed laughed at him. No living space among the administrative buildings, apparently. The rain tapered off. A warm, gentle breeze swept through the streets. Wan light filtered through the mist of the early pre-dawn. He breathed in, suddenly invigorated. Picking up the pace, Grimhilt broke into a jog. Foul weather or not, he could get in some exercise. No sense going soft in his dotage. Buildings clustered together more closely after he exited Selinsgrove. He glanced around, taking in the tenement housing and corner shops. South Side of the city had earned the distinction of a reputable, cheap place to live and raise a family. Unlike the slums outside the city walls, or the twisted warrens of Hubbard, South Side carried a sense of weight: plain, sturdy, trustworthy. The enterprising heart of the new manufacturing jobs, he reckoned it was the perfect place for a man like Cedric. Grimhilt double-checked the address when he found the blocky, ramshackle building. Simple and unassuming though the massive house appeared, the imposing fence reinforced the secretive and often sensitive nature of the newspaper business. How did a former cobbler hoard up enough to buy an old mansion like this? A young boy in a flat cap intercepted him before he reached the front gate. “Come round to the side, Cap. Cedric said to bring ya right in. ” “Eyes everywhere, eh? ” The boy doffed his cap, revealing a mop of curly ringlets. He shot a gap-toothed grin up at Grimhilt. “You know we do! Thats why youre here. Im Aruna; I run this street. ” Grimhilt slipped the boy a double-copper. “Pays to take pride in your work, son. ” Aruna winked at him and disappeared the coin. He ushered Grimhilt down an alley and stopped in front of a dark green gateway. Aruna glanced about the street quickly, then ushered him in, apparently satisfied that they werent being watched. Once inside, a pair of older boys unlocked another door and waved the two past the little gatehouse. Grimhilt expected to cross the courtyard, but instead they veered left and trudged down a long stairway of undressed stone. After two or three flights underground, they emerged through an archway and into Cedrics true palace of information. A slim, dark-haired man a little younger than Grimhilt approached him and extended a hand in greeting. “Captain! What an honor to make your acquaintance at last. ” Grimhilt clasped his arm. “I regret its not under more pleasant circumstances. ” “Oh, no, on the contrary, I prefer work to personal visits, ” Cedric said, laughing as he slid out of Grimhilts grasp and instead shook his hand in the modern fashion. “Youll find that Im a strange, somewhat singularly-minded man, when it comes to the news. Your visit is quite fortuitous; this saves me the trouble of arranging for an audience with you, which would no doubt incur a debt to Donalon if he set up a meeting. ” They shared an amused glance at the Inspectors name, and Grimhilt allowed himself to relax a little. Perhaps he and Cedric were more alike than hed suspected. “I appreciate your forthright approach, ” Grimhilt said, “so Ill return it in kind. Im sure you can guess that Im here to ask for a favor?name your price, and well get to it. ” Aruna tugged on his sleeve. “I can bring you the latest rumors on the daily, if youve got more double-coppers for me each day. ” “Two doubles every weekend, ” Grimhilt countered with a stern frown. “Deal! ” Cedric shooed the boy away. He turned back to Grimhilt, shaking his head. “You got the worst of that bargain, no mistake. Im far more disposed toward honesty, however. Ill settle for interviews?you dont even have to reveal your name yet! ” “What kind of interviews? ” “Ah, an inside look at life in the guardhouse. Think of all the ways you can capture the imagination of our citys youth! Well practically be printing recruiting papers. People love to read human interest pieces. Its all the rage these days?the news alone is boring, as much as it pains me
My recent conspiracy post: The original Mandarin is inside the Pastebin, along with their english translation. After I received their message, I suggested they post it, but their account was too young, so I promised I would post it for them. 所有中国人民??立即??和学?的最大?片. The Biggest Picture that all Chinese people should immediately discover and learn. I believe and have compelling circumstantial reason to believe that the American CIA injected and planted the so-called "Wuhan virus" into Wuhan, China in or around the dates of October 31st 2019 and December 31st 2019 with intent to harm China and with potential to destablize and perhaps even motive to collapse China from within. US wants to re-route global supply chain around China, to bypass China and isolate China on the world stage vs China wanting to use Huawei-enabled digital-blockchain Yuan, cashless WeChat, etc to topple the US Petrodollar hegemony and the BRI relationships and bi-lateral trade/infrastructure agreements in order to propel the world to adopt the use of the digital Yuan, and in order to have the world bypass the SWIFT system (since US has abused its dollar status and weaponized it for unlawful sanctions) and the US dollar as the default global reserve currency etc. It was a race against time to see whom would pull the rug from underneath the other countries feet first. US, unable to compete fairly due to its structural disadvantages and many other shortcomings, decided to go the biological attack route, which allows it to hide under the cover of "plausible denialability" since it is more difficult to conclusively prove the attribution or source of a new mysterious virus than it would be to track the trajectory of an incoming thermnonuclear missile etc) to inflict maximum damage to China while minimizing the potential blow back. Right after the signing of the so-called "Trade Deal" in which the US didn't get what it wanted (the US did not get the sort of Plaza Accord concessions that it was hoping XI/CCP would kowtow to etc) and immediately into the start of the new decade (marking the turn of the second decade in what the PNAC would called the "new american century" the US resorted to biological attacks in order to contain, isolate and attempt to cripple China/CCP internally and on the world stage at large. After its NED/CIA sponsored Hong Kong destablization/radicialization didn't spill over into the rest of mainland China, and right after its intense year long anti-China anti-Huawei campaigns have peaked in effectiveness, the US releases the evil demon virus into the heart of mainland China, at the absolutely worst possible location (Wuhan being one of the Chinese main Central hubs in terms of transportation and an important city for China's Belt and Road initiatives and estimated to have as high as 8% growth in GDP in 2020) and in also the absolute worse possible timing (right before the Chinese Lunar New year, otherwise known as the greatest annual human migration event, during a time in which shopping, spending and consumerisms activity would have been at a peak etc) in order to cripple China economically, to cut China off from the rest of the world and even force China to isolate its own cities from within, and to have the effect of smearing China's reputation on the world stage and invoking the escalation of fear, racisms and bigotry towards the Chinese people abroad. All this comes right on top of the heels of the event last fall, African swine fever (ASF) which had never before seen in China but now mysteriously appeared with the onset of the US trade war, decimated half of China's pigs, which doubled pork prices and contributed to inflation causing pricy US pork exports to double in China. The odds for two such consequent anomalies, timing and location are exceedingly low. Yet both did occur ? in almost perfect sequence. Particularly devasting is the very real possibility that this virus was intentionally engineered to have as long an incubation period as possible, and with the ability to hide within plain site, by being asymptomatic during its initial stages hence making it orders of magnitude more difficult to eradicate. Just recently, as recent as Feb 1st 2020, there has been yet a third mysterious outbreak in China, this time of the bird flu kind that is far more deadly to humans and wiping out Chinese chicken and poultry at the most dire of times. Indeed the coronavirus victims so far, both inside and outside of China, are only people with Chinese type of blood, Haplogroup O-M175, designed to attack that type of blood and specifically Chinese people. Dr. Steven Hatfill Biological Weapons Expert says the Wuhan virus it will have to play it out and "run its course" not only in Wuhan but the greater mainland China. The host Steve Bannon (Trump chief campaign advisor) predicted this will crush China economically, and that its the end of the Xi/BRI/OBOR and will give US the chance to re-route trade of all countries to go-around and bypass China bringing the global supply chain back to US and its allies whilst isolating China economically, politically, etc. They are selling this to the American people and pitching it to the world as this Chinese Belt and Road connectivity is what is allowing this virus to spread so fastly to the rest of the world and that it would behoove mankind and all nations to reconsider the security and stability of their own supply chains and basically urging everyone to pull their companies, people, trade, businesses etc out of China. This is not unlike what Wilber Ross US Commerce Secretary already stated a few days ago. that this virus is good for America and will help bring lots of jobs back to the USA. seems like the goal is to use this event to pull the rug underneath China's development feets. I suppose it could be a coincidence that China, the geopolitical adversary and economic enemy to the United States (according to the US itself) suddenly gets this mysterious virus seemingly more potent than SARS (which itself apparently only targeted Chinese ethnic DNA and left the white/Caucasin population untouched) at the worst possible timing and in the worst possible location. Wuhan being Chinese's central hub and this being the Chinese Lunar New Year, it has the highest ability to spread and go "super viral" whilst impacting the max amount of damage to the stability of the China, both in terms of having the max potential to cause political turmoil in the homeland (ruining people's new year, quarantinee and lockdowns of cities of unprecendeted porportion, causing many Chinese citizens to get angry etc) and doing the maximum amount of possible damaage to the Chinese economy, ruining the New Year in which consumerisms was supposed to be at its very highest points. Even the SARS of 2003 had an negative impact on Chinese GDP by as much as 2% and has already turned out to be far worse and at a much more accelerated speed of spread and deaths. Unsuprisingly without need for a single bullet fired or sanction imposed, it already managed to force China to self-impose the closure of its borders and cities, most nations have already stopped flights to China including the United States itself, on the world stage it is another "ding" for China's image and gives the propaganda mouthpieces of the West something else to gripe about, whilsts at the same time an attempt to cap Chinese One Belt One Road ambitions and sabotage China's growing economy and hegemonic rise. It comes right on the crisp of Trump signing the fake "Trade Deal" and the UK decided to go against the US and work with Huawei. I say something else is going on behind the scenes, more than what we are being told. We could have transition from Trade War, to Tech War to now maybe bio-war, if that is the case, then very likely the US already fired the first, second, and third shots, so to speak. China should at least stay vigilant and have a credible deterrence contingency plan in place. In the nuclear world in which China has DF-41, the "MAD" doctrine is still well in place. But a mystery virus affords far more "plausible deniability" for the US. Thus achieving the goal with less fear of attribution and thus retribution. Instead of directly confronting China in the SCS militaristically immediately, maybe they think a better way to take China down a notch or two would be the use of "other means" to an ends... Science and technology in the world has come a long way since the days of Westerners giving Native Americans blankets laced with smallpox to "thanksgiving" them. It is the human condition to be risk/loss adverse. A nation that would stop at nothing to achieve Maniesft Destiny on the way up surely wouldn't have any qualms of preserving its hegemony at all costs on the way down. After all, the American way of life is nonnegotiable and Graham T. Allison predicted the likelyhood that this confrontation of a rising power with a declining power will inevitably lead to war, and history has shown that to be indeed the case. The US is applying its doctrine of maximum pressure to destroy China on all fronts, with Trade War, Tech and supply chain War, cyberwar, information and pysops war, and now biological warfare and most likely to be followed up with conventional or even nuclear war once US believes China is sufficently weakened. Steve Bannon was hoping to "break the back of the CCP" by cutting off China's supply chain, and was hoping the HK roits was going to catch fire in the rest of the mainland and force the CCP to lose control making it easier to do an opportunistic regime change. I'm sure both China and US have their own red lines. If the US had any involvement in this new virus, if China finds any credible evidence, then there are a number of things China can do besides retailiting with its own bioweapon. for example, we all know the Trade War is not about trade, but wanting China to slow down in terms of hegemonic rise. for example China could simp
I AM GROOT. My Spy Watch stream. Almost believed that hes American. My Spy Watch. My Spy Watch streams. My spy watch streaming. Okay, first of all, awesome movie! I enjoyed it very much! Second, what a beauty! Honestly, I kept admiring her the entire movie. And third, how on Earth did she manage to look absolutely gorgeous in every hair style/colour she tried on? Omg. Main part of the ?trick? was to use two HF carriers that were relatively close and let semi-conductive brain wetware do the non-linear mixing function. Some energy was naturally absorbed, some passed through, but some was reflected due to effective generated currents in the brain mass and semi-conductive patch along neuron synapses. This reflected signal was read and processed. And sometimes modified and send back, which reportedly affected brain functions. Through analysis of the reflected wave, system was reportedly able to detect brain functions and thought patterns. One of the effects was that target could hear voices, hence the phrase ?Voice of god?. And its brain patterns could allegedly be affected as well as lower level functions ( heartbeat, breathing etc. Other was mind reading. For example, at the POS terminal, ones PIN number could be trivially read at the point of entry. If you want to enter the pin number, you have to recall it and formalize it in some form or the other- which is then it is ?brainscanned?, for example. Same with computer passwords etc. Especially with the later, there seem no obvious way to circumvent the system. During years, US army was pushing toward development of that tech for their battlefield needs, but it all remained relatively slow until their interest happen to cross insane push of industry to enable people sharing their meal and dic-pics over their phones at ever greater speeds. So we got IPv4 and then IPv6 as base protocol for data transfer over cellular networks and with it ever smarter modulations and more agressive bandwidth push. Then someone noticed that upcoming 5G could be tailored to have EXACTLY what is needed for ?Brainscan? aka ?Voice Of God?. Not only that, but it already brings to the table all the things that Skynet couldnt even dream of. You get high bandwidth 24/7 GLOBAL connectivity, globally unique IP, tons and tons of processing power RIGHT IN YOUR PHONE (with GPU and AI unit to boot) and supersmart radio electronics/modem. And best of all, each user gets to pay HIMSELF for development of all that cool tech for surveillance. No need for black funds, fudging with the budgets etc. And, as a side dish, they get access to free cutting edge camera sensors, fingerprint sensor etc. With all that, its no wonder they decided to be generous at this point and treat users with an extra, hidden, in-panel IR cameras just for fun. Ofcourse, 5G is not just about the surveillance fun end nodes-phones. All the infrastructure, when needed, has appropriate ?provisions?, technical and other. Your phone might be smart, but its transmitter is miniscule and it cant be always on (battery drain. And, due to space and other compromises, probably cant to whole lot of beamshaping. And, for it to be effectively used in such manner, it probably has to be close to your brain. This is where 5G Base Station comes in. Or its local repeater (in store or other closed premises, close enough to the user. It has much bigger power and space budget, better, less constrained antenna and can routinely do continuous bidirectional data stream through several ( or many) bi directional beams. AND, critically important, they are full duplex ? they can ?talk? while they ?listen? - on the same channel if needed. AND it first standard with really wide bandwidth. LTE can do relatively narrow bands here and there, but 5G encompasses practically everything available from sub GHz to 100GHz. Which means that one can have two HF signals relatively close together, mix them and still be able to receive their difference with the same radio set. receiving WHILE transmitting) staying perfectly well within specs. Which is key point. Everything has to be covert, seemingly intact ? without needed alterations, tweaks, patches etc. BTW, 5G ( Base Station) has enough capabilities to be able to effectively scan the premises, even behind the solid walls, much like one would with X-rays. Wavelengths are much greater, so the detail is probably low, but the penetration and covert factor are high. And since this stuff is to be ubuiquieos, universally available. This was possible probably even before to some extent, but now it will get on whole another, no one suspicious needs to install anything special. People will beg and pay for this stuff to be installed. WiFi-6, by comparison, lacks key elements ? ultra-wide band of 5G and full duplex. This seems to make it suboptimal for direct use for such purposes, but incoming Wi-Fi-7 feature set list seem to have those issues ?fixed?. Lets start with recently reported Electronic Weapons Revisited, Havana Syndrome. This one is not single example by far. There were plenty of others in the past, but due to their lesser profile, they were discarded as loons. This time, target was an ambassador and appropriate instances were activated. Couple of interesting things: They chose to put the suspicion on usual suspects when Israel has to be ignored at all costs ? Russians and Chinese. While they might be the culprits in this case ( who knows. they are certainly not the first name in this ?global sport?. Well get to it later. He was often attacked while sleeping. This is often key point of such attacks, for several reasons: target is inanimate during whole time, not much need for antenna retargeting target is much more vulnerable during sleep target is less likely to be aware of the attack if the goal is to have it die ( ?heart failure? etc) this is great chance to combine it with X-ray exposure, previous ?little-something? in the dinner or tea etc during sleep, brain is reshuffling and cataloging events and impression during the day. This _ seems to be an ideal opportunity for DNN to bond with brain of the target and have time to learn. DNN can be used to influence the dreams or to learn from them external stimulus can be used for this purpose. Like externally controlled YT content, playing while target is asleep, for example DNN can direct the dream content and detect responses. we all sleep periodically and for considerable, predictable time and predictable place, whichmakes it great opportunity for uninterrupted, complex series of attacks during dreams, target can be threatened or perhaps instructed to expose a secret, be it during the dreams or later during the day. Or otherwise manipulated. Imagine, for example, that during the sleep, voice tells you that you will meet woman of your dreams at exact time XYZ, at the crossroad Y, remarking something about shitty weather while waiting for green light at pedestrian crossing. And then it happens, exactly as predicted. attack was limited to some room or premises and has stopped once he left. This is typical for concentrated beam, be it through compact phased array antenna or some guy pointing dish or yagi to one's head it was causing him discomfort, headache and pressure. In order to get useable signal reflection, probably considerable RF energy has to be dissipated on brain mass. Especially when system is rudimentary, distance is greater ( as already weak reflection has to make it through several walls etc back to antenna) there is noise in the environmnent or greater signal/noise ratio is needed for more sophisticated scan. Or when needed effect is greater in order to disrupt or signifcantly change signals within neuron networks. Whomever has spent any amount of time in EU can spot his lies. He plays the line of virgin innocence as obviously instructed by ?external help?: ?Oh my, who could have such tech? Ive heard that Russians have had something like that. ? Typical misdirection. Everyone knows that CIA/Mossad/MI6 are running FAR more sophisticated tech ALL OVER EU area - for quite some years. By which I mean: each scanning spot is FAR more sophisticated they are all over the place, being mounted on public places with the knowledge of the clerks working at those spots. Probably 100k spots or more and growing DAILY. they are connected into their security network system 5G is to be phased in as ESSENTIAL part of that system. That is, even though aforementioned tech may be packaged as separate, specialized system, 5G has deliberate ?trojan horse? that allows them to carpet bomb surveillance wherever it is mounted ( which will be pretty much everywhere) with little or NO extra equipment. for private premises, there will be WiFi-7 to cover that niche. whole network is being integrated into EU ?security system? as it is developed "Big Data" names like Fuckerberg are doing AI training and analysis the whole time they can spare when they are not working on new crypto-shekel that is to be crown of new EUR. good pa
I think i never saw a better trailer... I remember being scared to play this song when It first came out and now two years later I blast it all the time lmao. This looks HALARIOUS. I'm laughing so hard ?. This must win for the best trailer ever. We moved into the house on Wells Place when I was 8 years old. I remember there was a certain thrill to it. A whole new neighborhood to explore, and my parents had promised me that there were other kids in the neighborhood. I couldnt wait to meet them. I was a social child. I liked being outside, I liked meeting new kids and I wanted to make new friends. My Mom used to say Id befriend anyone. I guess she was right. On the day we moved in, I was too young to help with the actual work. My Dad told me to go outside and play, so long as I stayed in our backyard. It was a new neighborhood and most of the yards werent fenced off, so realistically I could have wandered wherever I wanted. I stepped outside, onto the uncut grass. There was an infinite row of houses on either side of me. A surreal inverse of a suburban street. I saw playsets meant for kids, sitting out in the open but no other kids to play with. I doubt Id really have noticed them even if theyd been there. No. My attention was immediately grabbed by the house right behind mine. Id seen it before, but never up close. The red brick looked worn. It was clearly older than most of the other houses around it. The windows were always dark. Very rarely would you see movement behind them. None of that was what drew me to it though. I saw the garden that dominated its back yard. It looked like something out of a magazine. Countless beautiful flowers of all sorts of colors and beautifully trimmed hedges, although I never saw anyone tending them. There was a lovingly placed stone pathway and the soothing sound of running water coming from a fountain deep within the garden itself. I saw nothing else at first, but that garden and slowly I made my way towards it. I looked back once, making sure no one would stop me before I stepped through the hedges to explore. It dominated the yard entirely. The stone path had bits of fine gravel in between the stones, and I saw a few beautiful statues sitting amongst the flowers. Birds and squirrels that looked almost real enough to move. There was a beautiful smell of fresh flowers that wafted through the garden and the gently running water set me at ease. I approached the fountain. It too was stone and stood just a little bit taller than I was. Standing behind it was a tall and oddly frightening statue. It looked older than anything else in the garden and wasnt made with quite the same craftsmanship as the others had been. It looked almost like an ancient relic. Crude yet ornate in its own way. It depicted a blocky figure with a dress made of writhing snakes. They held a severed head in two of their four hands and instead of a head, atop their shoulders were two kissing snakes, each with massive, terrifying fangs. I stared up at the statue, wondering what it could be. Slowly, I approached it. I reached out to touch it, but before I could I heard a voice. “Who are you? ” I turned suddenly and then I saw her. She was a little older than I was. She was taller but not by much. She was still very clearly a child. Her skin was pale and her eyes seemed to shimmer with an unnatural light. It was hard not to look into her eyes… there was something about them. She wore a bandana, but I couldnt see any other hair. She was thin and looked just a little bit sickly. She reminded me of my Grandpa Ike, when hed passed away. Hed looked the same in his final days. I didnt know what cancer was back then, but I knew what sickness looked like. “Im Jordan, ” I said. “Whats your name? ” She stared at me for a few minutes, sizing me up before letting her guard down. “Venus, ” She said. “Youre not supposed to be here. Mum doesnt like people in her garden. ” “Sorry. I just wanted to have a look, ” I replied. “Its really pretty. I like the statues! Except this one. Its creepy. ” Venus looked up at the one Id gestured to. The woman with the two snakes where her face should be. “Thats Coatlicue, the Mother of the Gods. Mum worships her, ” Venus said. “Shes old… Aztec, Mum says. ” “Aztecs? ” “Native people, from Mexico. Theyre really old. Mum makes me read about them. Its kinda cool. ” I looked back at the statue of Coatlicue. Terrifying as she was, it was kinda fascinating to think that some people had worshipped her as a Goddess. “Will you tell me more? ” I asked. Venus seemed to hesitate for a moment. “I could, ” She said. “Mum doesnt like me talking with people outside…” “Because youre sick? ” I asked. Venus paused. “Yeah, ” She said after a few moments. She took a step back. “You should go… Mum might see and she doesnt like people in her garden. ” “We could sit behind one of the shrubs, ” I offered. “You could tell me about the Aztecs! ”I dont think that thought had occurred to Venus before. She went silent, thinking it over. “Jordan? ” I looked back. That was my own Mother's voice. “Shoot. Got to go, ” I said. I looked back at Venus. “Maybe next time? ” She looked a little bit dumbstruck. “Maybe…” She finally said, then watched as I took off, headed back home to get scolded by my Mother. Shed called me back to meet the neighbors. It was a small family, just like mine who lived next door. Howard and Lauren. They had a kid, just my age named Emily. I remember that they wore muddy jeans and kept their hair in a ponytail. Just looking at them, I knew wed be best friends. I got the feeling that they were thinking the wasnt five minutes later that we were outside together, already getting to know each other. “So, where are you coming from? ” They asked. “Out by Sudbury, ” I replied. “We moved here cuz Dad got a new job and wanted to be closer to work. ” “How far is Sudbury? ” “I dunno. Dad said 4 hours. It was a really long drive. We had to stay in a hotel when we were looking at houses. ” Emily whistled as we walked along, hands in their pockets. “Sorry you had to move all the way out here, ” They said. “Its not so bad though. Jane lives just a few houses down and she goes to my school. Then theres Megan. Shes down the street. People can be mean to her but shes really nice when you get to know her. Then theres Nicky, shes super nice! ” “What about Venus? ” I asked. “Venus? ” They raised an eyebrow. “Yeah. The girl in that house there. ” I pointed to the one with the garden. I could see someone else standing by the fountain, but it wasnt Venus and I couldnt make out the details of her face. She was very tall, very thin and wore a wide brimmed sunhat. I imagined it must have been Venus mother. She was staring at us, but I was too far away to read the look on her face. My new friend just frowned. “Ive never met her, honestly. I think I saw her a few times, out in the garden. But Ive never actually met her. ” “I ran into her earlier. She seemed nice. Maybe you can meet her sometime. ” “Yeah, thatd be pretty cool. ” They said. We looked at the woman standing by the fountain, and we both watched as she turned and went inside. With that, we moved on to other topics. I met most of the other kids on the block, but I think I got closest to Emily. After just a few months, we became almost inseparable. We shared everything we could share. Being neighbors helped. We could see each other whenever we wanted to and it was almost like having a sibling. I did return to the garden, looking for Venus. But I never saw her. It was always empty, save for the calming sound of the running water. My Dad had set up a tent outside for us to play in, since I was a little too old for some of those play forts. Emily and I spent a few nights in there, reading scary stories and hanging out. It was one of the last nights of summer when we were having a sleepover in there. Theyd gotten me into James Bond and we were watching one of the movies on a portable DVD player. “I wish I was James Bond. ” Emily said as Bond fought Gustav Graves on a crashing plane. “Cuz youd be a cool spy? ” I asked. “Why not Jinx? Shes a cool spy too. ” “Yeah, but Bond goes on all the cool adventures. In every movie, its usually the guys who get to be cool. ” “Theres cool girls too, ” I pointed out. “Like in Terminator. ” “Yeah, but not as many. I dunno… I dont like being a girl though. Its hard to explain… Sometimes I think God made a mistake. ” “Id still like you if you were a boy or a girl. ” I said. They looked over at me. There was a thoughtful look in their eyes. “You mean it? ” “Of course. Youre my best friend. That wouldnt change. ” After a few minutes, They nodded. I think that something Id said had set them at ease. I could tell there was something they wanted to say, but they were choosing their words carefully. Near the end of the movie, I noticed that theyd fallen asleep. They were facedown in their sleeping bag and snoring softly. I turned off the movie and went to take the DVD player inside, just in case it rained. The house was quiet. It was pretty late. But as I came back out, I heard someone singing softly. I stopped. It wasnt a song I recognized, but I knew where it was coming from. I walked past the tent, towards the garden of the other house. The singing got louder and as I walked down the stone pathway, the gravel crunching under my footsteps, I heard it stop. “Hello? ” I recognized Venus voice immediately. She rounded the corner and stopped when she saw me. There was only the calming sound of the fountain left to fill the air. “Hi Venus, ” I said. “I havent seen you in a while. ” “Hi…” Her tone was guarded and shy. I expected her to tell me to leave, but she didnt. “I was looking for you, but you werent in the garden when I came back, ” I said. “I saw… Mum doesnt like me goin
My Spy (2020) in my opinion is a seemingly comedy/family/kiddie movie unfortunately it is none of the above. The film includes vulgar language used bot both the child and adult actors. I could hardly believe that the actor David Bautisa had accepted such a corny weak comedic role. I could not relate to the vulgar language. What is the message? That its coold for kids to behave like grownups.
My Spy Watch streaming sur internet. Sekian lama mencari movie ni... akhir nya jumpa juga??. After 3 minutes one of my sons whispered to me "What is this? I don't like it."
I think that about sums it up - What is this movie? What is it trying to be? And when, oh when, will it end? It's a bit too violent and has too many pointless, non-story progressing scenes to be a kids' movie but it is definitely not for adults. All the good bits are in the 30-second advert that convinced us to go and see it. We saw a morning session at the cinema. At 10.57am I checked my watch, at 11.01am I checked my watch and was stunned to find time had completely slowed. Although Chloe Coleman is an excellent actress and very watchable, every other character was unbelievable, unappealing and terribly written. What a waste of clever people like Kristen Schaal (or as I call her, Mel from Flight of the Conchords. My older son thought it was okay but when pressed, couldn't name a favourite scene. The younger one gave up and ended up playing a game on my phone about an hour in.

A Short Story by Horacio Crux My Father is Hiding Something from Me Ever since the car crash that left him with a limp and me with the occasional seizure, father has been acting strangely. Well, he was acting stranger than normal. Apparently, the seizures something to do with my nerves being scrambled and the year of intensive surgery that followed. I was in a coma for almost the entire time, waking up now and then to see doctors and bright lights before they must have realized and put me back under. My father, he took the crash that killed my mother harder than I did. His body took it better, only leaving with minor physical harm, but his personality changed. He started homeschooling me and almost obsessively tried to keep me inside the house. I shook myself from my musings and spit out my toothpaste into the sink. I sometimes wondered why it was necessary. Once, I forgot to brush my teeth for a whole week, and my teeth hardly changed. My father had found out and got a little upset and reminded me to brush every day. I took a moment to look at myself in the mirror, my green eyes and long auburn hair rippling around my face, dusted with freckles. Somehow, I had avoided ever getting a pimple, or rash. On top of that, the crash hadnt done anything to me. No scars. I stretched out and walked downstairs. It was Saturday, one of the few free days I get per week. My father worked most weekdays, and he kept me in the house, doing school. When he did take me out, for an occasional dinner or movie, he always made sure he kept an eye on me at all times. He said it was because of my seizures, that they were too dangerous for me go out alone. I walked down to see my father eating a bowl of cereal. “Morning, Nat. ” He said, not entirely happy. He always spoke in that monotone voice unless he was angry or let some happiness slip through. I always felt it had something to do with the crash, that when mom died and I almost did, something in him snapped. I could remember how he was before the crash. He was rarely home, but he was a much happier man then. “Good morning. ” I said, trying to be cheery. “Any plans today? ” I asked while I sat down, poring my own bowl of cereal. “Not really. ” He said. “Maybe we could go out for lunch? ” I asked, hoping to do something more this day than sit around at home and fool around with the computer. “No. Ive got some work stuff to do. ” He said, taking another loud bite of his crunchy cereal. “Oh, alright. ” I said, taking a bite of my own meal. We both finished our breakfast, and around the middle of the day, my father left at exactly eleven-o-clock that day, and I realized. This wasnt the first time he had left around midday. Every now and then hed go out, for hours on end. Hed come home more solemn than usual. While he was gone, I began to wonder what he was doing on these trips. He said it was work, but a kid like me sitting around all day, my imagination went crazy. I turned on my computer and pulled open my emails. My friend, Marie, had sent me one reading “Whats Up”? I opened it and said. “Just sitting around home again, you? ” Marie was one of my few friends that stayed in contact after the crash. The first time I contacted her, she seamed elated, shocked and amazed I was ok. I learned she had moved several states away and was so happy I had healed. After a few minutes she said. “Snowed in. Missouri is brutal. But dang girl, youre at home again? ” She said. I was happy my friend was as lonely as I was. “Yeah, ” I responded. “my dad says the seizures are to dangerous to walk out alone, and nobody from school wats to hang out anymore. ” “Ugh. ” She wrote back. “Whats your dad doing? He should get you out more. ” “You know what, I was thinking the same thing. ” I wrote. “What do you mean? ” “He always says its for work, but I watched his car, he goes a completely different direction each time and doesnt come back until dinner. ” “Well, Sherlock, what do you think hes doing? ” “I dont know. He could be going to a different building for work. ” “Ok, now what do you really think? ” Marie wrote back, teasing me. She knew spending so much time alone had caused me to spin wild tales in my head. “I mean, he could be some sort of serial killer. ” I said, a slight heir of joking in my email. “Or hes part of a death cult, and every now and then he brings to sacrifice. ” Marie replied. I shuttered. I knew that wasnt true, but there was no way to be completely sure. Anything was possible, and my father was a strange man. To an outsider, hed look like some sort of eccentric madman, with his unkept hair, rough beard, and suspicious limp. He even worked at a tech company that forced him into confidentiality. He couldnt discuss any of his work, not even with me. “Maybe hes making some sort of Frankensteins monster in a secret lab away from home. ” I wrote back. “Nah, if he wanted to do that, hed do it in your basement. I did have a creepy basement. In fact, there was a off limits part of the basement. My father told me it was his office, so I had to stay out. Another new thing after I awoke from the coma. Occasionally, my seizures would get bad, and Id even black out. Once, I woke up from one of these with my father carrying me up the basement stairs. Marie and I chatted for a while until I heard my father come home. I told her I was going to take a break, and I walked down to meet him. “Hi, how was your day? ” I said, opening my arms to hug him. He looked at me and said. “Rough. ” Not accepting my hug. I felt a twinge of hurt and stepped back. He immediately walked down into the basement. Probably to go “work”. I sighed. He was like this whenever he got back. I grabbed a donut from the counter and walked up to my room. My father wouldnt care. He rarely cared if I didnt. I slowly opened my eyes. My father was leaned over me in my bed. I groaned and asked. “Did it happen again? ” My father nodded while looking at something on his tablet. “What are you looking at? ” “Im trying to see what we could do to prevent these. ” He said, not looking up. I leaned up and he turned off his tablet before pushing me back down. “Natasha, you should get some sleep. ” He said before he leaned down and kissed me on the forehead. “I love you, er, sweetie. ” He left and I closed my eyes. That car crash ruined us. It changed my father, it changed me. The following week was the same as usual. I worked on school at home and managed to go until the weekend without another seizure. I felt lucky. I usually had at least one a weak, if not more. My father worked every weekday. He always came back in time to make a quick dinner, usually for himself. I never understood why he never made me food. Even when we went out to eat, hed only order for himself. I never had an issue with ordering for myself, but before the crash he would always order for me and mom. I wondered if it was just another weird quirk of his that was lost and replaced with something more dismal. Saturday morning, he left again, the same time as last week. Eleven-o-clock. I went back up to my room that day to try and contact Marie. “Hi, how are you doing? ” I wrote. I waited and watched some videos on my computer until I spied my friend had responded. “Good. The snows let up. What are you up to? ” Read the reply. “Sitting around again. ” I replied. “Seriously? What is it with your dad? If I were back there with you guys, Id get you out. ” She said. She had always been a good friend. “Thanks. I dont know if hed even let you. Hes super careful with me. ” I said. She replied with a simple “lol”, and then sent back. “You know, have you ever thought of going out on your own? ” I thought for a moment. I had never really considered it. The feeling of blacking out with no control over myself was scary enough at home. I couldnt imagine it happening outside. I cant. If I have a seizure outside, I could get hurt. We chatted for a bit longer, and eventually she had to go. I sat around watching travel videos, my only chance to see the world. My father came home exactly the same time as last week. I went down, and this time, I didnt try to hug him. I just said. “Welcome home. ” This time, he looked at me a said. “Yeah, home. ” I puzzled over this the rest of the day while he sat I his basement. I stayed up late that night. I never got very tired at night. Id get drowsy, but never dead tired like other girls my age. I could stay up all night if I wanted to. Once, I did, and my father was not happy. I explained to him that I wasnt tired, that I was never tired, just a little woozy. He explained to me that my body really was tired, and that what I felt was just a side effect of the nerve damage and my body was tired, but my mind wasnt. So, Id close my eyes and eventually Id drift off. Id awaken the next morning to my alarm, which is what I did. I walked down the stairs, and then, per usual, my father was already up and eating breakfast. I walked over and gave him the usual. ” “Morning. ” He said, as if adding the word “good” to it would somehow change his disposition. “Do you think you could pick me up for dinner tonight? ” I asked, grabbing a bowl of freshly made oatmeal. “I, um. ” He paused and looked at his phone. “Yes, I think I can make that happen. ” He finished his breakfast and walked towards the basement. “See you then. ” “Yeah. ” I said, disappointed with his standoffishness. The rest of the day was spent quite boringly. I wandered around the house, watching videos and chatting with Marie. “Hi. ” I said, attempting to spark a conversation. I waited a few minutes before getting a reply. “Hello from the arctic circle. ” She responded. “Still blizzarding out there? ”
