Normal People download free. ????-????(Feat.????. Ordinary Love is a really surprising film. It's by no means a perfect film but it is a really enjoyable film with emotion done well without feeling too over the top especially for a cancer film.
Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville are really great here. They really do carry this film. Since it is primarily focused on these two characters and pretty much no one else. Liam Neeson is really great here and it makes me wonder why he hasn't done more action films. Overall it's a very simple told very effectively. It does have a lot emotion and it really does work especially the ending. But it's definitely worth watching.

Lesley Manville and Liam Neeson are note-perfect as an everyday couple coping with cancer in this singular drama with universal appeal 5 / 5 stars 5 out of 5 stars. ‘Simply flawless: Lesley Manville and Liam Neeson in Ordinary Love. Photograph: Universal T heres nothing ordinary about this deeply moving, frequently funny and piercingly insightful drama from Belfast playwright Owen McCafferty, making his screenwriting feature debut. On the surface its a tale of a middle-aged couple facing up to a diagnosis of breast cancer, and a year of medical intervention. Yet beyond this immediate diagnosis is something far more rich and compelling ? a story of everyday love between two people living in the shadow of grief, facing an uncertain future, both together and apart. Directed with wit, subtlety and great emotional honesty by Lisa Barros DSa and Glenn Leyburn (the co-directors of 2012s brilliantly life-affirming Good Vibrations) its a singular story with universal appeal ? striking a very personal chord with some viewers while finding common ground with the widest possible audience. Ive seen it three times so far, and found it more joyous, heart-breaking and ultimately uplifting with each subsequent viewing. Lesley Manville and Liam Neeson are note-perfect as Joan and Tom, a couple living in Northern Ireland for whom gentle bickering has become a sign of affection ? a way of saying “I love you” without having to use those often awkward words. At Joans apparent insistence, the pair have taken up walking, striding along a waterside prom to a designated tree and back ? an attempt to stave off the inevitable aches and pains of ageing. “How does the Fitbit know youre walking? ” Tom asks his ever-so-slightly exasperated wife, before insisting that the exercise “ allows me to have a beer” despite her health-conscious protestations to the contrary. When Joan feels a lump in her breast, her husband tries to reassure her that its “nothing”, even after initial investigations raise cause for concern. “Well do whatever has to be done, the two of us, ” says Tom, asserting that “there isnt a moment I wont be with you”. Yet that togetherness will be sorely tested by a process that necessarily separates patients from their loved ones, frequently leaving Tom stewing in impersonal waiting rooms while Joan undergoes examination and surgery. “Im glad our Debbie isnt here to go through this, ” says Joan, referring to the lost daughter whose presence still feels real, highlighting divisions between the couples different ways of dealing (or not dealing) with the current crisis. Anyone with experience of a similar situation will recognise the pinpoint accuracy with which Ordinary Love depicts Joans journey through cancer care, right down to such tiny details as the weirdly jarring snapping sound of the mechanised syringe used to take a biopsy. Equally on the money is the depiction of the petty distractions that can accompany life-changing hospital visits ? the moment of panic Joan feels when shes called for her test results just as Tom has disappeared off to the toilet; a tense exchange conducted sotto voce while queuing to pay for the car parking. Its that evocation of the intangible interface between the mundane and the monumental that lends Ordinary Love such universal appeal ? the sense of down-to-earth characters quietly wrestling with the cosmic mysteries of life and death, love and grief, with a mixture of sorrow and laughter. Whether its a tragicomic graveside musing about the metaphysics of the afterlife, or an absurdist argument about three being closer to five than one on a sliding scale of probability (apparently drawn verbatim from an exchange between McCafferty and his wife Peggy) Ordinary Love brilliantly captures that strange sense of everything and nothing happening simultaneously ? to everyone. Watch a trailer for Ordinary Love. Crucially, although the narrative is bookended with images of Tom and Joan together, the emotional separation they experience during Joans treatment is accompanied by an unexpected bonding with others who are going through the same thing ? the “Normal People” of the scripts original title. One of Debbies old teachers, formerly dismissed as “arrogant”, becomes a confidante, a fellow patient with whom Joan can laugh about the indignities of chemo-induced hair loss. Meanwhile Tom (who is “always Tom”) makes a waiting-room connection that proves quietly groundbreaking, causing a subtle change that cuts to the heart of the films wider purpose. With cinematographer Piers McGrail and editor Nick Emerson, Leyburn and Barros DSa create a cinematic space that combines the intimate domestic stillness of Michael Hanekes Amour with an almost Kubrickian sense of alienating architecture during the accelerating hospital scenes. A beautiful ambient score by David Holmes and Brian Irvine proves as quietly powerful and moving as the film itself, like a randomly generated cellular lullaby. As for the performances, they are simply flawless, with particular plaudits to Manville, for whom awards are surely due. A wordless closeup of her face as Joan undergoes breast imaging will stay with me forever ? in her eyes, we see fear, anxiety and a hint of loneliness, mixed with a strange cocktail of acceptance and defiance, and something that still manages to look like love.
She heals the soul. Take me to that other place. Lesley Manville and Liam Neeson star as a couple coping with her breast cancer diagnosis in Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Lyburn's drama. As quiet and thoughtfully composed as a Dutch master's painting, Ordinary Love uses clean lines and well observed tiny details to build up a deeply moving, nuanced portrait of a marriage under strain after a cancer diagnosis. Liam Neeson, playing a sweet but schlubby average guy who barely wants to go out for a walk, let alone battle terrorists, stars opposite Lesley Manville ( Phantom Thread) as his tiny but fierce spouse, together incarnating the kind of extraordinary regular people you see every day in hospital waiting rooms. Playwright Owen McCafferty's first screenplay, informed by his own experience of supporting his wife through breast cancer, takes an unblinking look at how illness like this can be a forge that fuses or a fire that incinerates a marriage. In the sensitive hands of married directing team Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Lyburn (who made the delightful punk history lesson Good Vibrations ?which, like this film, is shot and set in Northern Ireland) Ordinary Love becomes a scroll of minutely observed, almost uneventful scenes, filled with the nervous chatter of coping, that almost imperceptibly build up the pressure until the pain becomes almost too much to bear. A proper emotional wringer that's never for a second manipulative or sentimental, this should win plaudits, especially for the leads. Apparently retired and comfortably off, 60-somethings Joan (Manville) and Tom (Neeson) live in a suburb of Belfast in a cozy womb of a house, with lots of wood paneling and smooshy-soft but tasteful cushions. Every day they go for a brisk walk along the waterfront, turning around to head home at one particular spindly tree, whose blossoming and then bare boughs mark the seasons as the film progresses. Then they have supper, watch TV, chat and go to bed, a life of harmonious, comfortingly dull routine, often filmed with the pair in silhouette against bright backlighting, making them look like iconic cutouts of a happy couple but also occluded by the glare of the universe around them. Then Joan finds a lump in her left breast. Tom smirks when she invites him to see if he can feel it too, and the couple aren't unduly worried at first. But when their GP (Esh Alladi) suggests they get it checked out at the hospital, and the doctor there (Melanie Clark Pullen) says there's a chance it could be cancer, the situation gets more frightening by tiny clicks each day. McCafferty's script perceptively captures the way people negotiate with the odds dispensed by medical professionals. When the doctor says that on a scale of five, the likelihood Joan has cancer stands at a three, effectively a 50-50 situation, Tom posits that three is closer to one, which therefore means she doesn't have cancer. Joan argues, on the other hand, that three is closer to five than to zero, and that means she does have cancer.? When the results come back positive, Manville looks duly devastated, but there's also just the tiniest, slyest hint of triumph, a nonverbal flicker of "I told you so" as she realizes she won the argument. It's remorselessly honest moments like that which make this film so remarkable and beadily observed. Naturally there are the obligatory tears, setbacks and triumphs you would expect from any film about cancer. But we also see many of the bits so many illness films leave out: the waiting, the awkward silences, the kind or even baffling words of advice from strangers, at different stages in the process themselves, who you meet passing through the wards or sitting outside on the benches having a smoke. There are instantly recognizable moments of anxiety and social awkwardness that British viewers in particular, steeped in the complex etiquette of the National Health Service system, will relate to. At one point, for instance, while awaiting a diagnosis in a waiting room, Tom goes to the bathroom, and just when he's out of sight Joan is called to see the doctor. For several agonizing seconds of screen time, she must persuade the nurse who summoned her to wait until Tom comes back, worried that if they go to the doctor's office he won't find them, but if she slows things down too much they'll be sent to the back of the queue. It's like a Richard Curtis comedy-of-embarrassment skit, but without the laughs. Conversely, the film boldly chooses not to fill in every blank or answer every question. We never find out, for example, what Tom and Joan used to do for a living, or how their only child, Debbie, died 10 years ago, perhaps because those details don't really matter now. The illness strips everything away, leaving wounds that gentle kisses can make only so much better. (An exquisitely tender sex scene, where they say goodbye to Joan's breasts, is one of the performance highlights of the film, simultaneously awkward, funny and oddly erotic. ) And yet, even though the experience brings new people into their lives such as Peter (David Wilmot, all sad twinkling eyes)? ? ?a former teacher of their daughter's who's now terminally ill and whose husband (Amit Shah) is struggling to cope just like Tom? ? ? at one point someone remarks that despite everything, nothing has really changed. That basic paradox gets to the very heart of how we survive, a lesson told with the lightest of touches in this ineffably beautiful film. Thus, when I saw the chance to read No Ordinary Love, I was more than happy to finally... 4. 5 stars! This was, by far, my favorite book in this series! I loved Eliza and Cal. She is a journalist who just lost her job. He is the guy who eliminated her job running the company as CEO. She is sassy and down to earth. He is hot and rich. She is blue collar and he is silver spoon. Somehow, their relationship is rocky, but sweet. I feel in love with Eliza and Cal. Their relationship started off rocky and was hysterical and fun! I laughed for their first date and swooned over the relationship... * ARC Provided the Author and Give Me Books. 3. 5 Stars Eliza and Cal met when she "helps" him, and his broken down vehicle, on the side of the road after discovering he is responsible for her losing her job. The attraction is there, but so is the reason to have nothing to do with one another. But, it's a small town, and she works for his friend, and his family and hers are impossible to avoid. No matter how hard she tries to do so. So, after meeting again and again, they see that there is a... Five Amazing Stars Getting Back I was thrilled and absolutely excited to read the sixth book, from the wonderful series, Sweet Briar Cove. Written by the amazing, most wonderful author, Melody Grace. I have enjoyed every book of this wonderful, most romantic series so much. I just couldnt wait to enjoy it so much! Eliza Bennet had spent Summer when her was younger at the town of Cape Cod. Once her years studying had ended she chose to now spent it with her sister Paige. With her mother driving... 4. 5, All The Feels, Stars! “Cal was already in withdrawal. Hed never felt like this before, craving a woman with such a raw, animal need. Her touch. Her kiss. A smile. He was a red-blooded man, sure, but Eliza set something in him burning out of control, and he was just about ready to give up fighting it. ” “The sparks caught, and just like that, he was on fire. ” “Thats how you know its real. Anyone can stick around when its smooth sailing. Its how someone acts when you hit rough waters that... Eliza loves the small town of Sweetbriar Cove on Cape Cod, so when she is fired from her job at a Boston newspaper, she retreats there with wounded pride in the hopes that she can find a sense of calm and a new path forward again. It is the first time she has been back since her father died last year though so she has to face some bittersweet memories along the way too. She stops to help a stranger stranded on the side of the road in an area with no cell reception despite her foul mood, but when... Reviewed at Romance Is Ageless To say that Eliza and Cal got off to a rocky start would be the understatement of the century. They first met alongside of the road when shed stopped to help out a stranded traveler. Yet, in reality she knew him quite well ? or she knew him as the new CEO who handed her a pink slip right after she might have made an impulsive non-complimentary comment about a relative in her news article. Unfortunately for Cal he had no idea of who had just “helped” him and Eliza... A Melody Grace novel is something akin to sitting in front of a blazing fireplace snuggled in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. It makes you feel warm and cozy inside and out. And once again she has accomplished this feeling for me with her latest Sweetbriar Cove novel, No Ordinary Love. Eliza and Cal come from completely different backgrounds: hers one of ordinary life and living paycheck to paycheck and his one of wealth and galas and having everything he could want. But when their lives... 4 - 4. 5 stars Cal and Eliza got of in the wrong foot. Bad first impressions and all that plus Eliza is still hurt over her job. While they maybe opposites in upbringing and all it feels like not so much anymore they butt heads over misunderstanding. When they see a glimpses of someone beneath the rich boy exterior and stubborn sharp front they share it changes things. Their story had it's own pride and prejudice spin on it. Well for the mean time the détente is ok civil but they still irritate... Eliza returns home to SweetBriar Cover after losing her job on her way back into town she stops to help a motorist that has a flat tire. Turns out the motorist is none other than her old boss, Cal who recently has taken over the management of the Boston Newspaper where she worked. Cal is overwhelmed with his job duties and living up to his uncle's standards. He takes his godmother up on the use of her home in SweetBriar to rest and regroup. It takes Cal a little while to figure out why Eliza is so... No Ordinary Love by Melody Grace “Enemies to lovers, 5 stars” Eliza is kind of reeling after losing a job she loves because she told the truth. So, she goes home for the summer where things are about to become a little more complicated. She thought maybe helping out a handsome guy would turn her luck around until she saw his name and decided he was enemy number one, or is he? Cal is living a life that was decided for him. He loves his work but hes a little too soft to be making some of the choices... I always enjoy a Melody Grace series - I admit I read this out of order as I am trying to catch up on the series and didn't go back far enough on my kindle - but it didn't hinder my understanding or ruin anything for me. I feel as if these series flow so nicely together and as standalones because you know what to expect from Melody as a writer and as you read you get a feel for how the series plays out. Eliza has had it rough and now after losing her job she heads home to help her mom and sister... For journalist Eliza Bennett, summers in Sweetbriar Cove were her happiest childhood memories. Now that shes been unceremoniously fired, evicted, and dumped (all in the same week) she hopes the small town will work its magic again and help get her life back on track. She definitely isnt looking for a distraction like the handsome stranger she meets on her way into town… especially when she discovers he might be the man behind her recent misfortunes. Cal Prescott is in Sweetbriar Cove... There is an old adage. opposites attract. but it does not guarantee those opposites will be able to successfully merge their lives into an HEA. Eliza and Cal are those two opposites. They come from different backgrounds, have different lives, but share one crucial point where they are the same: they are still trying to find themselves and where they truly belong! The hot attraction, the unbelievable intimate times, the easiness of their conversation it all adds up to a feeling of being... Sweetbriar Cove is one of my favourite series, I love that every book is about a different couple finding their HEA and I love that each book can be read as stand-alones. Book 6 is Eliza Bennett and Cal Prescotts story and what a story it is, two very different people coming from two very different backgrounds, could it be opposites attract even when one of you find out the other fired you from the job you loved. The attraction was instant between Eliza and Cal and the chemistry is off the... 4/5. Positive: Another good entry into this series. I'm completely hooked. The author has a way of creating her characters with flaws- deep, cutting flaws- that are the reasons why past relationships have never worked out. And in each book, the characters overcome their flaws in order to establish a healthy relationship with the person they're meant for. It may be formulaic, but I really enjoy the characters growing and changing to become, not just better people, but their most authentic... book 6 in this series, every book different and could be read as a stand alone but if you read from the start you will be familiar with the wonderful characters that are throughout the books. Eliza had just been fired from her job at the paper and blames the Prescott family for it so imagine her surprise when on her way to Sweetbriar cove to spend time with her family she stopped to help someone that had broken down to find out he was Cal Prescott, there was an instant attraction but also anger... This is the sixth book in this series by this author. This is definitely a swoon worthy read, with characters you will fall in love with from the start. This book will take your emotions on a roller coaster of a ride. You are always guaranteed an amazing story and exceptional characters with this author. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future. Highly recommended author and series I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book Melody does it once again in this book that follows Cal, the guy that oozes family money for generations, and Eliza, who fresh from being fired from her job by him for reporting on someone in his family! When they meet face to face sparks fly, until she realizes who he is! Read their story in this amazing book by the author, the series Sweetbriar Cove that just gets better and better wi
